Llegamos a AMS bajo la lluvia y el frio. Nos tomamos el tram y ya ver que pasaba por en frente del hotel fue genial. Excelente ubicacion para ir caminando a todos lados. No desayunamos en el hotel porque nos parecio caro eso (aunque nos dieron vouchers de descuento) pero un dia cenamos en la habitacion (room service) y comimos rico. Era lo que esperaba, un verdadero hotel modernista y boutique, es una ubicación magnífica, recomendable desde todo punto de vista. El personal atiende espléndidamente y el desayuno es muy bueno. No usé el restaurante.

This is a very nice hotel located close to many attractions - museums, restaurants, art galleries. Although it can be noisy at night due to where it is situated, the hotel provides means for blocking it out in order to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I would definitely stay here again.

We had 2 nights at the Albus in an up graded room. The bed was very comfortable and big and the bathroom had a big walk in shower. It was not far to get to any of the sights but far enough out not to be noisy. There was no canal view but we were out all day so that didn't matter. We didn't eat at the hotel as the breakfast seemed quite expensive but […] just down the road along the tulip market there are lots of cafes offering every kind of breakfast possible. Leer más

nice room, albeit a little small; coffee maker excellent

The hotel is beautiful but if you get a room facing the main street out front it's over for getting a good night's sleep.

During our trip to Europe we stayed is seven differente hotels. This one was a very centric location , modern and nicely decorated, however was also the only one where our three children seemed to bother the neighbors below and next to us which was very stressing for my husband and I. As I knocked the walls and figured out there were way too thin so […] our children's talking and walking was heard clearly by others. Also a baby crying in another room was heard sound and clear in our room (and he was not crying that much). I would not recommend it for families with young children. Also, the rate does no include parking, or in room wireless or breakfast (most hotels included at least one of these if not all). Leer más

It was a good choice. Not very large room, but good enough for two people. Close to a movie center, nice to have fun and come back late. The only thing I would expect to be better if they can have a double bed rather than two single bed put together.

Check-in and check-out went very smoothly. Room and beds were comfortable, bathroom was functional and well-supplied. One quibble: the room had a misaligned door lock, which they never did fix. FANTASTIC location, great rooms, everything was absolutely wonderful. I will def stay there again!

My wife and I stayed at the Albus Hotel for two nights 31st July and 1st August . We found our room ,as we were told by the receptionist, to be quiet . It was quite a good size and we were very pleased . We were given '25% off Breakfast ' vouchers and the buffet breakfast was excellent. We had no hesitation in booking again for two more nights after […] our cruise - the real purpose of our stay in Amsterdam.We asked for the same room when we returned. On our second stay we were a little disappointed to find the same room was unavailale and were told to have one the same size we would have to pay an upgrade fee. We viewed the room on offer .It was smaller but acceptable ,We were not offered discount vouchers this time but when I asked in the morning they were offered - it's good to ask ! I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly the staff were. They tried to help and were glad to do so. Rooms are very small but clean and cozy. Fantastic maid service. Room was cleaned everyday. This hotel is in a perfect location if you want to know amsterdam by walking. The bathroom had a bad smell. Service is good, receptive people.

This hotel is not a 4 star hotel, very small room, small bathroom, small bed, with dark hallways. Also, when checking out, they asked for 5% city tax that I had no idea about. The receptionist said it is on the website but when I asked she couldn't find it. I didn't like it anyway.

Stayed at the hotel. Great location for what i wanted but for the price the room needs to have A/C. Got hot during the day and sleep was uncomfortable due to being hot.

Location of this hotel is fantastic. The decor is very comforting. Our room, although a little small was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. Location is right by the flower market and you can reach anything in the city by walking for less than 10 minutes. Breakfast is well set up and the people in the restaurant were excellent. Front rooms have traffic noise until about 22:00. Hotel is extra clean and the staff very helpful. On the major tram route making the city very accessable. Excellent for our two night stay.

The hotel itself is well designed and a nice location with very nice staff but the infrastructure of some parts of this hotel made it a real problem for myself, my wife, her mother and our 17 month-old son. Despite cool temperatures outside, the hotel room as at least 25 degree C (77 F) and not very nice to sleep in despite opening the window (good […] luck as we were on the noisy main street part of the hotel!). Additionally, the sink was clogged and the 2 lights were not located near a plug, one did not work even when plugged in. The Nespresso machine was excellent but, like the lamps was not located by a plug so we had to put it on a chair and plug it in. The hotel staff was excellent and not at all surprised by the heat issue, must be a serious problem that many guests have commented on. For a 4 star hotel, this is simply not correct and needs to be addressed or the start rating should either be lowered or some other indication of this problem be noted. Excellent location and a very fashionable hotel for sure. Could not recommend this will certainly not stay until and unless these problems are corrected. We switched to the 5* NH Krasnapolsky in DAM square, they offered a better price for a far superior room than we had at the Albus, and the temperatures in the room and hotel we far more reasonable. I did try to contact the owner who replies to these comments so as to hopefully lessen the negative comments left on this site but he was not there and no more viable option was given (my wife checked the other room offered but the only windows were located by the ceiling and the temp. was not much better), nor any management chose to contact us directly. The Albus is indeed a lovely hotel: comfortable and stylish. The location is absolutely superb. There is, however, one minor draw back; the standard city room that I stayed in unfortunately did not have any built in ventilation, making it very stuffy in warm weather. Although I was able to alleviate the stuffiness by opening the windows, the noise from […] the outside meant that I had to close it again as the room fronted onto a main thoroughfare in the city. Luckily, guests can ask for a fan in the room, which helped circulate the air a bit even with the windows closed. To be fair, I did enjoy my stay in spite of this minor irritation and would probably stay there again next time I visit, though I would make sure I bring ear plugs just in case the hotel ran out of fans. Rooms were modern and very clean and all staff were friendly and helpful. Had a few queries prior to my visit and my email was responded to quickly and efficiently. Corridors getting from the lift to your room were a little dark but that was the only complaint I would have.

The staff at Albus, especially Khalid and Stefano, are second-to-none in terms of going out of their way to make sure your stay is comfortable and you get the most out of your time in Amsterdam. A couple minor issues I had with the hotel was 1. the street nearby is very noisy with the train going by (nothing one can do about that), and 2. the bathroom […] essentially flooded every time we showered. There was just a piece of glass blocking about 1/2 the shower, and that didn't even have a seal against the tub, so water was EVERYWHERE. We found this hotel an exceptional value in an exceptional location for walking to visit Anne Frank House, Van Gogh and Rijk Museums and the Concertgebouw. The room was comfortable, clean and well equiped. The staff was helpful, warm and friendly. They supplied us with 25% off discount coupons for the in-hotel breakfast which was not included in our […] daily room rate. The breakfast was presented beautifully with an array of tasty choices. We were in Amsterdam as tourists for three nights. The location of this hotel couldn't be better--centrally located/walking distance to most sights, museums, and the central train station. Upon arrival the shower hose and one of the bedside lamps in our room were broken. The hose was fixed immediately after notified the hotel of it; they couldn't fix […] the lamp during our stay. We have three complaints: 1) The room was very warm, but to be fair to the hotel, we didn't mention it to them (I'm certain they could have fixed it). 2) Even though it is a non-smoking hotel, there were a lot of people smoking on our floor so the hallway and our room smelled. They investigated but couldn't tell who was doing it so they couldn't really do anything about it; and 3) We asked for a wake-up call one morning and didn't get it. Overall though, we'd recommend this hotel as a centrally-located, clean, comfortable place to stay. Leer más

Convenient location, nicely decorated lobby, however once passed here the corridors are very dark and quite eerie. The key card had no indication which way up or round it goes in the door which led to several minutes of frustration only to find out it didn't work in the first place. The room was nicely decorated and a free safe is always a bonus. The […] walls of our room were thin and despite being at the far end of the corridor it was still very noisy during night and day. The most frustrating part of our stay was every time a door banged shut in the corridor it would jolt the shower into a dripping frenzy which led to an uncomfortable nights sleep. Excellent well designed hotel The hotel is beautifully modern contemporary designed. The bed and pillow are so comfortable you don’t want to get out of bed. Value wise; this was a good deal, but make sure you get a room on the lower floor! The furnishings are very nice. The management does not have a firm grasp on running a fine hotel. Housekeeping should bring a flashlight to clean properly as the rooms are very dimly lit, the elevator does not work 50% of the time, they lost half our laundry, checked […] us out early, changing the keys so they wouldn't work (back down the stairs to go back up the stairs). We had a great 3 night stay at the Albus - the room looked just like the photos on the website. Bathrobes, complimentary toiletries, Nespresso coffee machine and a deep bath and shower! Hotel staff really friendly and helpful. The Hotel is only 4 stops on the tram from central station so making it really central and easy to get everywhere. Cute hotel […] restaurant and bar. We stayed 4 nights and our room was at the back of the hotel, overlooking the courtyard... a good thing as it is on a very busy street. The staff was courteous and friendly and the complimentary coffee and English language newspapers in the lobby were appreciated. Great location to canals and city centre.

Great location right near canals and not far to walk (or take the tram) to Dam Square. The room was rather small, but I think that's generally the case in Amsterdam - barely enough space to walk around the bed and had difficulty finding space for two medium size suitcases. I was very impressed with the Hotel Albus and enjoyed my stay there. The room was well designed, clean and spacious. I didn't use the restaurant. The staff on the reception desk were very helpful whenever I needed anything and were able to provide cards for the tram system, stamps etc. The hotel is very central (on a main tramline)and within easy walking […] distance of most of the main tourist attractions and the shopping centre. Crossing the nearby Munt Plein can be a bit ardous at times. I would certainly recommend the Albus to anyone planning a holiday in Amsterdam. Leer más

Good hotel, good location but there was no airconditioning in the entire hotel which you would expect for a 4 star hotel and the cleaning staff kept taking our second door card which was quite irritating.

Great room decor. The staff was helpful. We loved the coffee machine in the room. The rooms did get a bit hot at night and there was no air. Great location!!!

This hotel was convenient to the flower market, Rembrandt square, tram, and only a 15 minute walk to Centraal. Lots of places to eat and drink all around. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Let me start this review by saying, this was my first trip to Europe and I wasn't really sure what to expect. The hotel is in a great location, its situated between the floating flower market and rembrandt square. My husband and I walked to most places, but took the tram from the hotel to the museum distict (its a little far away). There is a tram stop […] right by the hotel and they sell all day tram passes at the hotel. The room was spacious enough for two people. The bed was very comfortable and they cleaned the room everyday. Cleaning started at 8am so if you like to sleep in, put the do not disturb sign on the door knob before going to sleep. All that being said there were a few downsides to the hotel. There was no water pressure in the shower, if you want water pressure you need to get a deluxe room, breakfast is not worth the cost (there are two really good restaurants that have a good breakfast selection along the flower market) and you will have to pay a city tax when you leave. But to be fair having to pay the city tax when you check out was not mentioned on the Hotels.com website (the city tax was about 14 euros for 5 nights). I would also recommend not booking any excursions through the hotel staff, they are not knowledgable about the details pertaining to start times, and locations. But they are very friendly and will try to help fix the situation. Overall considering location, comfort and pricing, I would recommend this hotel. Leer más

The hotel was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and nice for the price. It is located on a busy street and can be noisy at night with the windows open. But the location is good, if you like to be in the middle of the shopping area and city. I would definitely stay here again.
