The hotel was easy to find, in a good location a few minutes walk from 'Pigalle' metro station. The hotel is also situated a short walk from the Moulin Rouge area and one Metro stop from Sacre Coeur, you pass a few neon-lit "bars" and “shops” walking from the Metro station but nothing too risqué. If you are a light sleeper you might be better in a room at the rear of the hotel as it can be noisy from the occasional moped screaming down the Rue Victor Masse. The staff were polite and the hotel clean and fairly well looked after. Bear in mind that it is only a two star hotel, the quad (family) room is a bit cramped, the towels are a bit abrasive and the hot drinks-making facility is a vending machine in the lobby. The continental breakfast is relatively good value at 7 Euros (you will pay much more out and about) All-in-all the hotel was functional, comfortable and I dare say we could have done far worse, well worth it for a short budget break.

The Grand Hotel Turin is in the Pigalle district of Paris. This area is synonymous as the red light district. Firstly don’t let this put you off as the sex shops are located in the one street. I didn’t encounter any in your face prostitution etc. Behind the one street of sin is an array of small restaurants, bars, bakeries and shops etc which offer realistic value for money. The hotel near the Metro stations Pigalle and St Georges. From here buy a zone one and two ticket to see all the sights that Paris has to offer. The Meto is every 2 – 4 minutes and takes around ten to fifteen minutes to reach central Paris. The hotel is lovely considering that you pay a fraction of what you can pay in other hotels. The room that I had was on the 3rd floor. The lift is small so better to put your bags in and take the stairs. The room was a good size with two single beds. The room was nice and warm, a good job as this was in March and it was freezing outside. The bathroom has a hair drier and a selection of standard toiletries, loads of hot water to have a bath or a shower. No in-room WIFI but you can use the internet in the lobby for 3 euros for the whole stay. The hotel Breakfast is not all that good I would rather go to the local shops and sample the fresh foods that they have to offer. The in room TV has two English speaking channels CNN & Euro sports. But who cares you’re in Paris go explore. In conclusion if you just want a clean room & you are on a budget this hotel is for you.

Located on the edge of the very lively Moulin Rouge area so not really suitable for families - there are some very interesting people on the street corners late at night and early in the morning! However, this hotel is just down the Street from this, is very quite and surrounded by arty people who work in the nearby montmartre area. Good choice of restaurants and bars that I visited safely alone at night. Hotel was being refurbised when I visited so reduction in breakfast charge which made it very reasonable. pictures of refurbishment looked like it would be very tastefully finished. Hotel staff were very friendly.

We had a great couples weekend at this hotel. Easy to get to, nearest metro station being Pigalle, just over half an hour from Charles du Gaul with one change. Rooms are fairly small (and lift is unbelievably tiny!) but clean and everything worked. The only problem was it can get warm in the rooms, and this was in January! The area is fine, being amongst music shops and restaurants rather than the seedier areas.

This hotel is great if you want a base for your stay in Paris. It is in a great location with easy access to everywhere in Paris and many places in walking distance. Myself and my boyfriend stay there for 4 nights, the room was perfect for our stay, clean, comfy bed, enough space and clean bathroom with a good shower. The staff we very helpfull and friendly, when we arrived they showed us lots on a map tp help us get our bearings. Breakfast wasnt included but is failry cheap at 6.50 Euros we only got the breakfast on one day but it was good. I would recommend this hotel for people who will be out and about alot and just want a basic good hotel in a good location.

The elevator was a joke - 2 adults of normal size who are very friendly can barely squeeze into it and forget the luggage. To get into the bathroom we had to step up (i measured this) 18". The shower was too small to use but I did and most unsatisfactorally. The beds were quite small - almost cots and very low and lumpy. The pillows were poor imitations of lumps. The sheets were none too clean and the towels likewise. I found it hard to sleep on these low beds - felt like I was on the floor and getting into and out of them for a senior citizen was a real labor. They say they have internet - not - must use their computer in the lobby with all the other guests standing over one urging speed when the line is a very slow one. I don't mind paying for service but the whole thing went out of whack while we were there. I brought my MacBook but could not use it with their lines.

Budget accommodation near the red light district. Reasonably close to major transport links. The street was very noisy at night, due to the fact that construction work was in process underneath our bedroom window! Breakfast was very basic and not worthwhile as you can get a cheaper breakfast at a cafe just down the street. They even provide plates! One receptionist was nice and helpful. Not the best stay Ive had in Paris even though the accommodation was cheap.

Cheap. Cheerful. The walls are thin, the towels are small. The area is not the best, in fact the Marks and Spencer guidebook tells you not to stay there! However it is a basic hotel which suited our needs. Very close to a metro station, and the rooms were big and clean. The breakfast was nice enough though nothing spectacular. The roadworks outside made for an interesting journey to the hotel and an early wake up call but they won't be there forever. A fairly noisy back street but I think you'll get that wherever you go in a city really. So all in all; it was OK!!

The neighborhood is lovely and the metro is easily accessible. Our room was decent sized and clean, although it did smell of cigarettes even though we requested a no smoking room. The shower stall was simply a shower hose - no shower curtain, no real stall. The elevator is very small. The bed was comfortable. For the price, I would stay there again. The staff was friendly and as I said, the location was fabulous. My new favorite Parisian neighborhood!

The staff is not very friendly specially the older guy on the pm shift..towels are yucky..old and dirty looking. bring your shower ammenity kit..the hotel does not provide anything at all. Single bed is not like the american size single bed, it's way narrower. Carpeting is really dirty..although they have maid service, but I think there's only one. Get the known american brand hotel...even if you spend a little more..I think it's worth the stay, than this small cheap hotels...located in a ghetto like area. Don't go to Pigalle if you have minor kids..it's a night life area...every corner is a sex club.

Simple hotel in the music district, walking distnace to Monmartre and Moulin Rouge. CLose to metro. Nice English speaking hotel staff, especially the evening shift. The French woman working during the day was a bit snooty but that is typical. Room can get hot in summer (no a/c or fans) but pleasant with the windows open at night. Be sure to bring earplugs though as Parisians stay out late at night and can be loud with the windows open. Overall a great place for families; we had a quad with a bath and shower. Very clean.

As far as two-star hotels go, this one is actually quite acceptable. The Pigalle district might be a little bit offputting at first, but it is in fact quite a nice part of Paris you should also see if you're visiting the city. Hotel room was OK, nothing more, nothing less, but quite good if you use it for sleeping only. If you're not spending more time in the hotel than you use for sleeping, it's gonna be a good stay. Don't know about the breakfast, we just went to a bakery around the corner that had really good croissants.
