MAGNIFICA UBICACION Y SERVICIO

"fare from the center..."
This location of this hotel is only interesting if you have to be at the Kyoto convention center. Must to be a very fancy palace in the 80, but look old and not so fancy by now.
"Comfortable, yet located in the middle of nowhere"
The hotel is really comfortable, and the service is perfect. The only drawback is the location. It is the outskirts of Kyoto. Thus, it is highly recommended only for persons that have a conference in the hotel itself or a neighboring International Conference Center. Or for somebody that loves a silence and a beautiful park next to the place!
"Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto"
The selection of food available for room service is very limited.
"Grand Prince Kyoto"
Beautiful and serene. On the grounds where the Kyoto Accord was held. A bit out of the way for dining unless you plan to eat at the hotel. Wonderful service.
"Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto"
Getting to the hotel was easy - it is a short walk from the last stop on the Karasuma subway line, exit 4-2. That is good and bad - it is the last stop so you cant make a mistake, but it is about 20 minutes from Kyoto, a bit remote for our liking . The trains are great - regular, frequent and on time. Buy the daily subway pass for 600 yen. Staff were […] efficient and courteous. There were three of us. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed. The toilet seat was always warm, which make the Kyoto Protocol-ers a bit annoyed, but they would have been happy with the old CRT TV. As westerners, we wanted to be able to make a cup of coffee , but we noted that we had to pay for the coffee and Japanese tea sachets provided, which seemed a tad miserly, for such a Grand Hotel. And the hot water jug, which seemed to double as a noodle cooker, only had Japanese instructions and there was no crockery except water glasses. Bring your own milk (creamer) and sugar as well. The cafe in the hotel took last orders at 8.30 but were not too enthusiastic when we rocked up at 8.20 soon after arrival on our first night and the waitress didn't suggest any alternatives and seemed relieved when we walked away. Make sure you get there well before closing time and maybe the experience would be a bit different. We ate in the hotel's Chinese restaurant and they took a very long time to seat us, even though hardly anyone was present. (Probably working out whether they wanted our business, because they closed soon after). The meal was average by Japanese hotel/restaurant standards we had experienced. Because there was not a lot on offer in the nearby village, we ate in Kyoto after the first night at the hotel's restaurant. But even in Kyoto dont leave eating too late. The criticisms are really minor things but were disappointing to experience, particularly since we had come from other hotels in Japan, some more expensive and some less expensive, that provided these simple services liberally and Leer más
"Koyo hunting at Kyoto"
Nice big hotel in a quiet surrouding. The night scene of the hotel garden is particularly attractive, very pleasing to walk around. Room is very spacious with comfortable beddings, large closets and big bathroom. We have a wonderful stay.

"Outskirts of Kyoto"
Located at one of the last stops of the Kyoto subway. Rooms are very large when compared to Tokyo standards. It will take 30 minutes to get into downtown Kyoto via Subway and taxi is about 2400 Yen one way. Not many dining options in the area although there is an excellent Izakaya restaurant about 10 minute walk away. Stay here if you want a large room […] and don't mind being a ways from downtown. Internet is 1000Yen/day which was the only downer. Leer más
"Grand Price Hotel"
Very nice hotel; great service. However it is out of the way. There is a metro station within a 2 minute walk however. Hotel restaurants are quite expensive. And it does not have a coffee maker! You pay $4 for an instant cup.
"Out of the Way"
The hotel is very nice, but is so far out of the way. Kyoto is a great city stay in town and travel to your conference. It was a good deal though. Also, the subway stop shuts down early and you have to walk a long way in the dark (no street lights) to get back to the hotel.
"Great hotel - bit out of town but nice quiet location"
We had 3 nights here and were very impressed. Basic room price was good, all dining etc. were a bit expensive, in our opinion. But, there are some nearby restaurants and takeaways to help. It could be getting a bit faded now, but it really is still perfectly kept - clean, neat and modern furnishings. Staff were most helpful with local information, train […] / taxi / bus etc., and very friendly to the children - which always help. Leer más
"Outstanding Hotel"
Our room was quite spacious. The hotel staff was helpful answering our questions. There is a 24-hour convenience store near the subway station and bus depot where danishes, snacks, and juices can be purchased. The hotel provides luggage storage service at Kyoto Station (service terminates at 6pm and is located near one of the shinkansen entries) so […] there was no need to stow our bags in the station lockers. There is some travel time from the central city to the hotel's convenient subway stop on the Karasuma Line; but with Kokusaikaikan being the terminal station, there are ample opportunities for a subway seat. "Great Deal"
A great hotel at affordable prices. All the best services with no complaints.
"Very nice hotel"
Very convenient to the convention center and only about 20 minutes by subway from the downtown area. Large rooms (for Japan) and everything was new and clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent, though a little expensive. I will definitely stay there again, the next time I attend an event at the convention center.
"excellent"
classic hotel, they bumped us up to a great suite. The food is pricey but there are cool restaurants down the street (check out Indofasia).
"Great Hotel!"
Staff was very friendly, helpful, and fluent in English. The hotel is a little outside of the major attractions in Kyoto, but it has close access to both subway and bus line. It was a perfect choice for our vacation.
"Great hotel, but located far from downtown"
Hotel staff was polite and helpful throughout our entire stay. The place was nicely maintained with a spacious lobby. Our room was in impeccable condition with a fantastic view of the surrounding area. They had nice Sealy mattresses, but the pillows could've been better. The hotel itself is located near the Kokusai Kaikan subway station (K 01) on the […] Karasuma Line which is a bit far from Kyoto Station (K 11). It takes about 20 minutes to travel between the two stations. The hotel is also located far from the city center, so there's not much to eat in the general location although Takaragaike Park is right next to the hotel which is great for a nice leisurely stroll, jogging, biking or even renting a boat to float around the peaceful lake. Overall, a great place to relax. Leer más
"Excellent Hotel"
Location/Getting there: Booked via hotels.com for a conference. Location was extremely convenient for that purpose, being just across the street from the Kyoto conference center. Getting to the hotel was a snap despite us having way too much luggage. We took the bullet train from Tokyo (flew into Narita) to Kyoto and then local Kyoto subway to station […] K01. Exit 4.2 from Kokusaikaikan station debouches about 2 blocks from the hotel. Seamless transit system, no problems anywhere. Service: Courteous, professional, helpful, top notch. Language was not much of an issue, even for us non-Japanese speaking Americans. Rooms: We stayed on the 8th floor. The room was very well and tastefully appointed and large even by US standards. Great soaking tub. View (overlooking conference center and surrounding hills) was lovely. Internet: Only disappointment in that there was a daily fee (about 10 USD, obviously may vary based on exchange rate) for internet, but that was pretty trivial. There is also a charge by-the-minute business station (2 PCs in a nook off of the lobby) with attached printer. A nominal per-sheet charge. Getting to Kyoto: It was pretty quiet around the hotel (which was great). Getting into Kyoto was simple and convenient via subway. (A daily subway pass was Y600. Otherwise a one-way trip from Kokusaikaikan (K01) to downtown was Y280.) The ride from K01 station to Kyoto central station was 15-20 minutes but not a hassle at all. Getting out of Kyoto: Obviously the subway and JR work great, but as we had too much luggage we took a shuttle bus to Itami airport. The hotel can help with shuttles to both Itami and Kansai. You can book at the desk but must give the shuttle company 2 days advance booking. Shuttle picks you up at the front door, makes a few stops around Kyoto to other peoples' doors then off to the airport. Overall: A great hotel, excellent location if you are going to the conference center, pretty convenient even if you really will be spending most of Leer más
"Great room for the money and convenient"
The hotel was a little bit outside of the city, but there is a subway stop right at the hotel which made it very convenient. Also, the price for the hotel was very reasonable. The hotel itself was very nice and the staff was extremely helpful and attentive.
"Nice but expensive"
Nice large rooms. We liked the location near a park out of town. It's a tranquil spot. Although it is out of town it is easy to go into Kyoto on the subway (regular service taking about 15 minutes). Everything costs, even things that are often complimentary in other hotels - for example tea and coffee in the room and internet access. We decided not […] to eat at the hotel because of the high prices (buffet breakfast of juice, rolls and tea/coffee cost 1200 yen). We opted not to have the room cleaned and the hotel issued vouchers for 1500 yen which could be spent that day in the restaurants or souvenir shop. We managed not to spend on the extras at the hotel and enjoyed our stay but it was an inconvenience to do so at times. Leer más

"Great room for the money; lovely hotel"
Very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel, but have two minor complaints. For one, there were tea bags and coffee in the room, but a charge for partaking - seemed petty. Also, the hotel bar did not stay open in the evening and there was no place to go for a drink in the immediate vicinity of the hotel - okay for me, but a disappointment for my companion. The […] room itself was large, comfortable and clean and the hotel staff were accommodating and friendly. Leer más

Leer más

"Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto"
"Impressive"
Classy hotel
"Geat and Quiet"
Very quiet place, rooms really large and well equiped
