Se encuentra a una distancia mayor del aeropuerto que la anunciada sin embargo el taxi no es tan caro, (alrededor de 7 libras) del hotel al aeropuerto y el hotel cuenta con una linea directa para comunicarse con el taxi por lo que llega bastante rapido. El hotel ofrece tambien servicio de shuttle con cargo extra pero a partir de 2 personas es mas conveniente tomar el taxi. El hotel esta bien para pasar una noche en espera de vuelo al dia siguiente, nada mas, porque no tiene mayores comodidades y se encuentra muy lejos de las atracciones de Londres

"Not recommended"
I stayed here on the Friday night and Saturday night. When I arrived I was given a room it was dark and dingy and the heating didn't work, after complaining I was moved to a nice room with a sea view,unfortunately there was a busker outside singing till 4.15 am encouraging every drunk who passed to join in.The hotel made no effort to remove this man […] from the front of their hotel, Needless to say I had no sleep at all. Althought the name Old Ship fits with the hotel's condition, but I seriously question the number of stars. Moldy bathroom due to a complete lack of ventilation, almost useless shower thermostat giving either cold or boiling hot water. Depressingly low lighting in the room, decades of dust between the windows. "The Specials"
we booked the hotel to go and see The Specials - rooms where very dated. But it was very clean, the bed linen looked so clean it looked new. The noise from the generator/ airconditioning outside was loud but was tired enough to sleep through it. The breakfast was good english breakfast but we got there at 9.45am we had what was left, had to ask for […] drinks and glasses but staff were very friendly and helpful. "Old Ship- emphasis on "Old" should be noted"
Nice people, great location but in the middle of a rehab. Room was clean but dated to put it mildly. New wall covering didn't cover old blemishes, wouldn't want to be there when it's to cold. All in all was fine for one night but wouldn't go back
"Barcelo Old Ship"
Old hotel with nice rooms once you're in. The breakfast is good but beware the bar food is appalling and incredibly overpriced - what you get is worse than the cheapest pub food. I've stayed there twice this year & liked the hotel, but had dining nightmares with the simplest dishes that would have Gordon Ramsay knocking on the door.

"Not the Best"
Although this hotel has been refurbished, They have missed some basic details, Had to move the TV to actually put the kettle on. Had to move the chair to get the Cups out of the Cupboard. Hotel was clean and comfortable! Breakfast was yummy but perhaps you could have self service pots of tea? We had to wait for a long time and for tea at breakfast after we asked about 4 people for a pot of tea. We did however understand that it was very busy at the time. Otherwise a really enjoyable stay!

Was kept awake pretty much all night on the first night by the noise from the chip shop 20 yards away, it was open until 4.30 and this hotel doesn't benefit from double glazing. we were warning about the rooms not up to the standard of the reception area, but it was clean, but could do with some TLC and a lick of paint. The main issue was the noise about 2.00am to 4.00am outside the hotel and down the side streets. People coming out of clubs, shouting, screaming and fighting. "barcello ship hotel"
Had different things wrong with the room when we arrived a broken bed which had to be changed and a telly that wasnt working which had to be fixed, the room in general was shabby. The plus side was the staff were great and the breakfast was lovely. But because the rooms needed updated would't stay there again unless they had a refurb.

We spent one night at the hotel just to celebrate our 24th anniversary and we were very impressed firstly with Hotels.com for all their help in getting us a sea view room and secondly to Malissa at the hotel for making us so welcome we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and yes we would return again

I would definitely stay at this hotel again! Although the hotel looks tired from the outside it is in keeping on the inside and true to it's nature being one of the oldest hotels in Brighton, but still with a slightly updated feel in the recepion areas. "TIRED & HUNGRY!!!!!!!!!!!"
Room was clean, but tired looking with chipped paint on all doors & skirting boards. The windows were not double glazed, so we never got any sleep due to being next to a small side road which was in constant use with people until the early hours, & then a little later the seaguls took over. The full english breakfast was poor, with hard fried eggs, […] stale looking beans & low quality sausage & bacon. Considering we had an early start the following morning we were not impressed, we also booked 2 rooms 447 & 449. Because our daughter was graduating from University we planned to have a pleaseant couple of days enjoying her achievement, but that was well & truly not the case!!! Staff were pleasant. Leer más

Excellent service from front desk on arrival and excellent service from the parking garage. Hotel is in a great location on the sea front close to the Lanes. We were "upgraded" to a sea view room which although was clean and had a comfortable bed was in desperate need of refurbishment. "You can hear everything in the street"
The hotel is so old. You can hear every thing outside.I couldn't sleep at the fist day. I felt I was lying on the street . If any door open or close, I would think some body was knocking my door. I didn't want to use thier left. It looks like not safe to me. The breakfast is very nice.

the hotel reception area was quite nice , but once we got to our room , the furnishing were not to bad ,but the general impression was extremely tatty , thye curtains had once been washed but not been ironed they were extremely screwed , the windows were painted closed some years ago . Corridors need a little work but the room was lovely. Great location.
Very good location and good for being an English hotel. However, the bath was not cleaned at all and we got just one soap which was never changed. (And yes - we tipped the cleaner hoping that it would be better) Friendly reception staff and well-planned comfortable rooms. If they focused more on cleaning this would be a very good hotel.

Nice older style hotel with excellent breakfast
Although cost of stay reasonable value for money, VERY surprised this is a 4* hotel. Rather dirty, shower coming away from wall, single glazed, therefore broken sleep, ( bottles are emptied about 5am.) Dated decor.

The hotel was a great disappointment in all respects, especially as my partner has mobility problems. I contacted the hotel 7 days before arrival to confirm booking and reiterated that my wife was disabled and requested a suitable room and a reserved car park space. This was agreed. Upon arrival the car park was full with no knowledge of any such request. […] After some discussion the attendant finally relented and found a space! The internal walk from carpark to reception was difficult for wheelchair access as was the first room offered with lift impossible to get into with passenger in wheelchair. The room (102) was itself dirty with taped up windows, dirty carpet and chipped bath and again was unsuitable for anybody with mobility problems. After complaining to the reception staff, who did not appear to know much (and cared less) about what was going on within the hotel, we requested to talk to the duty manager. After some discussion we were offered Room 504, which was marginally better internally but still required access via the same very small lift. This room sufferred the same overall poor maintenance and decor including: - mould on walls - ceiling cracked and water-stained - bath chipped in several places, - peeling paint - stained carpet and towels - drafty windows - radiator only lukewarm whwn on max setting - no hot water during day - uncomfortable bed which sagged badly To cap it all on going to bed a dirty cloth was found under the duvet!! This is only the "highlights" (for which I have photographs) but is by no means a difinitive list of the problems. We did not dare to use the retaurant and so cannot comment on that experience. We could only endure this for one night and checked out first thing in the morning, abandoning the second nights booking. I cannot imagine how this hotel pretends to be a four star establishment and would rate it as 1 out of 10 for overall value for money. I could and would not recommended this hotel to anybody. Upon arrival there was much chaos due to double bookings of rooms for us and at least 2 other guests - which we were advised was due to a computer crash at some stage. I have booked online approx 2 months earlier and had received a confirmation at the time, plus just prior to arrival date, therefore not suspecting any problems. This automated reveiw […] also came through - despite our expereince. Staff very good about whole ordeal and inconveinience, and arranged alternate accommodation at the Thistle Hotel (at their expense) plus complimentry evening meal, including drinks in Old Ship Hotel Restaurant - which was very nice and great service by waitress. "Yuck! Skip it"
Looking at the web site you think the room would completely different than what it was. The room was very stuffy. The window opened up to a roof top that had a hallway with a very sharp light. The bed was not comfortable. The only things I really liked were the bathtub and the breakfast.

Centrally located hotel, convenient to everything you're likely to want to see in Brighton. Not the smartest hotel in Brighton, but characterful with charming and helpful staff.
I don think this hotel was value for money. The rooms were in need of decorating with old fashioned windows. On Saturday night I was kept awake from the noise from outside,if the windows were double glazed this would reduce the problem. I had to put my bag by the door at night to stop the light from coming through as the doors were gappy. I would rate […] this as a 2 star and more like a B & B. "Good hotel, great location"
I know this hotel has had some bad reviews but when we stayed it was great. The rooms were clean and the decor was OK (in good repair, just not to my taste). Staff were friendly, polite and helpful and the hotel itself is quite an impressive and grandiose building. As for location, it couldn't be better situated. 2 minutes walk to the pier. About 1 […] minutes walk to The Lanes and with the Jamie Oliver resteraunt around the corner (which I would recommend). And a decent buffet breakfast in the morning. It also only takes about 10 - 15 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. Just head straight down the road for the sea and turn left at the end before your feet get wet. "Location yes, room no"
I would recommend this hotel for location, but only if your happy to have a room with no air conditioning and a very noisy neighbourhood -would suggest a room on higher floors, we were allocated a first floor room and heard everything a load of drunks have to say to one another at 3am.

We stayed here because we were attending a wedding. Apart from the convenience of location, the best thing about this hotel was the friendly waitress at breakfast. She was lovely but there it stops.... The room was tiny which in itself isn't too bad but the condition is beyond description. Basically it needs knocking down. The bathroom was unbelievably […] tatty with too many badly bodged repairs to mention and as for clean.... everything was filty from the public stairs to the skirting board in the room itself. This hotel is old and therefore you expect it not to be luxurious but to not be clean really is just not acceptable. Honestly it was dirty through not being cleaned properly. Just don't bother. Nice hotel. The staff were very friendly and they were very quick. The room had some free space but not a lot and the bed obviously was taking most of the space of the room. The room and the bathroom were clean. However, there were only bottles of shampoo in the bathroom and no shower gel. The hotel was spacious on the ground floor with nice living […] rooms. It looked refurbished but from the outside it doesn't look so modern. plus the wall paper in the rooms was not modern at all. The big positive is that it's on the seaside and only 3-4 minutes away from the pier. The paint on the outside of the hotel was peeling badly. The bathroom wall by the bath tub had a patch of black mould and the paint on the ceiling was peeling. Someone had pulled the tissues out of the box and stuffed them back in. There were numerous black scuff marks on the bedroom walls and the wallpaper was ripped. The curtain had a large tear. "Great Location, good hotel if a little tired!"
Stayed for 2 nights after reading previous reviews. As expected the staff on reception were a little short and not to helpful however the staff in the resturant were a lot better. The hotel itself is in a great location right on the front and the general decor was good but given the age of the hotel it was a little tired in places. The only issue really […] is parking but this is something you have to expect in every hotel in Brighton, there is a car park ajoined to the hotel which was over £20 a day and also the Lanes car park adjacent is the same price both are very secure. If you want cheaper parking then you can park at the NCP down the road which is half the price. To summise the hotel it's self is ideally placed, clean and in a great location but seeing signs of age. Leer más
"Great location stay in Brighton"
Barcelo Brighton Old Ship is a great hotel in lots on ways but with a few little tweaks could be even better. The breakfast was ok but lacked fresh bread and decent teabags. The tea was like hot water with no flavour. I had to ask for another one for the pot. The bathroom gave the bear minimum in one tiny phial of shower gel and hair shampoo and no […] body lotion. The heating was also set at an odd time and when we returned to the hotel at 4pm was freezing and then boiling hot into the early hours of the morning.
