Hyatt Regency Long Island at Wind Watch Golf Club - Hauppauge 40.81323, -73.17298

I stayed at the Hyatt Wind Watch 12/4/09 - 12/6/09. Price was good. Location Great. My only complaint was there was supposed to be an ice machine on the 8th floor, but it was gone. I went to the 9th floor, ice machine was empty. I went to the 7th floor, and finally found a working ice machine. Overall, good experience.

...however the pay per view movies were down for our entire stay

All in all it's a beautiful hotel but I was uncomfortable of the fact that in the lobby a man was sitting reading with his shoes off and his feet on a coffee table. You could also use more light in the bathroom. And there was none in the shower.

I stayed at this hotel when it opened several years ago It was even nicer than I remember. I will stay there again.

I have good and bad feelings about this hotel. The good is that the staff in the restaurant and bar were extremely friendly, helpful and a delight no matter the time of day or night. The bad is that the room cleanliness left much to be desired. I discovered a used linen napkin in the drawer of the night table with ashes in the drawer. I wrote a large note and placed it on the drawer so that it could be cleaned. When I returned to my room, the note was never moved or read. I assumed the cleaning person did not read English nor did she care to find out what the note was about. On the next day, I returned to my room after it had been "cleaned" to find the ice bucket with water in it (melted ice) so it was obvious that area had not been cleaned. The beds were made by pulling up the sheets, comforter, etc. without really straightening the sheets - something I would not do in my home. The pillows were not touched, just stacked, so the bottom pillows were flat. I was not happy with this type of room service. Overall, the hotel is in need of renovation.

Not much around this area to do, but the restaurant's food is excellent, the two pools were fun to swim in, and it was very clean. The price I found on hotels.com was only $10 more than the gross Econolodge!

My husband and I were there for our anniversary. The room was clean and comfortable. The health club was top notch. The restaurant however was a disappointment. We were there for dinner and breakfast the next morning. We saw a waiter touch bread with his bare hands before placing it on a plate and heating it up. Our courses were served out of order (entre before appetizer) and they could have done a better job monitoring the coffee/tea station for cleanliness, supplies etc. Stay there, eat elsewhere.

I just believe that a hotel thats classified as high end should have more of the basics for free that some lowered priced, just as nice, hotels have. Such as free WIFI, a microwave & mini-fridge. I understand from the front desk I would have to upgrade my room just to get these things. I made the reservation to this hotel through Hotels.com to save money & was able to get it for the same price as another hotel I normally stay at for the same price. By the time I was out of this hotel it averaged out to be another $20 more than If I stayed at my normal hotel per day.

I was there visiting family, my parents also had a room there. The carpets were all stained in the hallways, my parents door would stick shut (maintenance came up and drilled for a while to fix it). The prices for breakfast were ridiculous. I got charged a lot of money for a glass of OJ and three pieces of bacon, that's it. We were there for three nights and in our hallway was a big pile of crumbs. When we were leaving, that pile was still there. Nobody vacuumed for 3 days.

It was a great location for us, near old friends. Hotel was clean and the indoor pool was great because it rained a bit. The grounds are nice and well maintained, the rooms very comfortable, all in all a very nice stay.

Lobby & rewstaurant was hot & humid all 3 days we stayed. Restaurant staff & room service was mediocre. Lunch was insipid & service was slow. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and was served 2 tiny, greasy chicken tacos grilled with no cheese. Breakfast buffet was excellent which made up for the prior failures. The room was small but clean, modern & updated. Bed was comfy.

This hotel was great! Room was clean, comfy and roomy. The toiletries were awesome and the bar/lounge/restaurant was top notch. (Which was good considering the lack or neighborhood surrounding the hotel). HOWEVER... I am really sick of getting nickel-and-dimed by places when it comes to wireless internet access. There was an additional charge of $11.95/day for online access. I think that is excessive, and considering this hotel was listed as good for business travelers, they really should reconsider the charge. I would rather pay $12 more per night for my room than have to pay the ridiculous incidental charge. Which, might I add, was only vaguely referred to on hotels.com and on the hotel's own site. On certain pages it simply said "wireless internet access available", and didn't state that there would be an extra charge.

Our family spent the 4th a July weekend at the hotel. We needed an accessible room with activities for the kids. The staff was *very* responsive and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. The beds are excellent and the pool areas were well maintained. We had a great time !

We were very happy with the hotel. The pools (indoor and outdoor) were well maintained. Overall I would definatly recommend this hotel and stay here everytime I go out to Long Island.

Very nice hotel with upscale look. Room was clean and comfortable with like-new furniture. The propety is isolated from the commercial districts, but the front desk gave us excellent directions to the nearest mall and the LIRR station. There doesn't seem to be any direct connection with the golf club, such as discounts for tee times. Wouldn't recommend paying extra for the golf course view. Only one restaurant on premises, which is pricey.

Only one working ice machine in the hotel. Good restaurant, but very loud group in next section made conversation hard.

I would have to say that the only 2 things that would have made my stay more pleasent would be: - Complimentary breakfast - Longer bar hours. Other than that, great room for the money.

This hotel was everything one would want in a hotel. It was clean, comfortable, classy and accommodating. The indoor and outdoor pools were clean and inviting. On the negative, there was a minimum charge of $10 to use the business center. I just wanted to print out a three page document and the staff helped by printing it out from their own email account. According to the guest book there was a charge for Wifi service, but my computer logged on with no trouble and there was no charge.

This hotel gives you the sense that you're staying somewhere substantial (most Long Island properties are on a smaller scale). Front desk is courteous and readily offers assitance. The hotel sits in a spot where you need a car to get to anywhere outside of the hotel property. Can't say much about the hotel restaurants as we ate at a catered event; food was above average for the catered event though. Hotel restaurants did not have much going for them as far as aesthetics. Room was spacious and modern with all the latest requirements for a better class establishment.

My room was immaculately clean & the staff was friendly & helpful. The "golf course" view from my room was spectacular - affording an incredible expanse extending to the North Shore of Long Island - I think I even caught a glimpse of the Sound & CT! The location was near LI MacArthur Airport with access to several major roadways - for easy travel back & forth to my hotel home-base. Despite proximity to LIE, 454, 347 the hotel grounds were a remarkably peaceful & serene setting. I'll stay there again, on future trips to Long Island.

When we first walked in the hotel, we were amazed. It was so nice and clean and the staff were really freindly. I loved the rooms and the high, soft beds. It was also nice to know you have a paper waiting for you when you open your door every morning! Hotel was convenient to restuarants and interstate. We will definitely stay at this hotel again!

The hotel and staff in general were fine. The room was clean, and had everything needed. The location was a bit out of the way. The one big issue I had was that we reserved a non-smoking room. Unfortunately the room was located on the only smoking floor in the hotel, and the smoke from the other rooms prermeated our room. The hotel was far from fully occupied so they could've put us on a non-smoking floor.

We will stay there again and recommend to friends.

The staff of the hotel does a great job keeping it clean, the place looks new. the room was very confortable and the service was great, the food was also excelen i would recomend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a great time.

The cleanliness of the room was poor. smudges on the mirrors and glassware. Rug needed replaced. Failed to leave a newspaper on both mornings. Dining room staff did not wipe off the tables before serving a new customer. dining room needed cleaned and rug replaced.

we requested a smoking room and when we arrived we were given a non smoking room. when I asked to be moved to a smoking room I was told there were none available. The public restroom in the lobby was in desperate need of housekeeping with clogged toilets. The staff was wonderful and friendly and even though we weren't completely satisfied with our room we would definitely stay here again.
