Reasonable value for weekend break, however breakfast extra. Reasonble bar food. Very convienient bus service into city, and good by-pass location. Staff generally friendly. Bedroom decor could do with an update.

Had a great stay at this hotel, but was disappointed to be charged per day for parking which we hadn't seen written warning of anywhere. When queried I was shown a tiny notice behind the desk advising of this charge, but this was the extent of the advertising of it. Very cheeky in my books! But no other complaints.

Although it was slightly out of Oxford City Center, it was still accessible by bus. I stayed there for a weekend and it was worth it. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

This is the only small complant i have, as its free in the world paying for it was a let down to everything the Hotel stands for. I paid 7 pounds for one day which 8 hours was sleeping 4 hours meeting 2hours eating, when i did want to use it it did not work, so i had to dress and go to the frount desk, which the staff help and gave me a code for free […] for another day!! funny that!!! but apart from that the rest was 10 out of 10 Leer más

Booked one night at the Barcelo Oxford. Had a great stay, with free breakfast. Hotel is about 10 min cab ride from train station/city centre. Cost 8 pounds. Hotel was clean, room had a nice tv and bed. Was a bit hot but got heating sorted out. Claims to be a 4 star hotel but deploys "budget" hotel tactics by charging for car parking!

The hotel was not that closed to the city center as it was described . The staff on the reception is not really helpful and they did not explain exactly what we wanted to know.

The hotel is very nice but the internet access is very poor, if you need the internet then you need to stay somewhere else!!

Excellent staff, well maintained with good facilities - including a well equipped gym.

when we got there the towel rack in the bathroom was not working we reported it three times but was still not fixed up untill we left.

The Barcelona Oxford Hotel is in a very convenient location and the bus to the centre of Oxford is very close to the hotel. The rooms are well maintained and the breakfast buffet offers a great choice. Would stay here again.

Found the staff on reception very helpful when asked about getting into the city by public transport. Our room was in a very quiet part of the hotel and a decent size. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.

very good hotel.. good breakfast, room and rate bus directions were not the best though- got a timetable for number six from reception but the number six bus stop was not the closest

Excellent spa and pool area, great breakfast and comfortable room.. would recommend.

A lovely hotel for a city break to Oxford. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great and my vegetarian sausages arrived very promptly. A wee bit far from the town centre but the the buses are great and very handy for the hotel.

The hotel was very good & the staff were also helpful. I needed to have a room where I didn't have to walk too far & this was no problem. We had a lovely room on the ground floor. There was some noise with doors slamming one night but this was not the hotels fault. just inconsiderate guests All told we enjoyed our stay & would use this hotel again.

we found the room to be clean and comfortable with friendly helpful staff, a very good breakfast just the start for a long day sightseeing.good bus service to oxford (10 mins).our only negative would be the price of drinks in the bar

The hotel is easy to find and has plenty of parking. We found it quiet & had a pleasant room with a refurbished bathroom. Breakfast was pretty standard and service was OK-ish. We didn't try the leisure facilities but the swimming pool is very small. Reception staff directed us to nearest bus into city centre - no 6 every 15/20mins and it only took 5 […] mins or so to get there, very convenietnt. £3.20 return, free for over 60s bus pass holders. We found the room very spacious and comfortable. The workout facilities are excellent. The location is very convenient for bus service into the center of Oxford, with a very reasonable Park & Ride nearby. With all the great amenities it seems odd to still charge for WiFi.

Well worth the price, good service. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Had room service for breakfast which was lush. Room was clean, and comfortable. we would recommend it.

Very satisfied on most counts,but 10 minute delay at check in ( when I had pre-booked through Hotels.com) was inconvenient.

This hotel is impressive in the lobby area but the rooms are not great. Small and dated I would say this is a 3* at best. Comfortable and ok for an overnight stay.

This hotel is not near the center of town, but you can take a bus to see the sights there. Good for Legoland and just relaxing.

Excellent hotel with excellent service. Only downside for me , room a little small but still good value for money compared to other hotels in the area.Right on bus route and only a 5 minute bus ride into Oxford City centre

Stayed here several times before. Requested room 222 and was allocated this room. Hotel is ideal setting for Oxford with bus stop just outside. They propose beauty therapy but is not quality for price

Really friendly hotel of which was clean and well maintained. Just outside Oxford town centre, 5 minute taxi ride. Only one complaint was that the Hotel bar only opened at 5pm although you could purchase drinks from the hotel lobby and that it didn't sell cocktails/cranberry juice. All in all a very pleasent stay.

Good hotel with a great location, very convenient base for exploring Oxford. Rooms were OK and staff very helpful. Only disappointment was the bar where the staff seemed to be overwhelmed very quickly and the standard of food was appaling.

Dreadful hotel, awful decor, no way is this 4*. customers were soooo chavy, either on a stag or hen. Decor appallingly bad, dreadful colour schemes in the rooms and also the corridors. The best parts about this hotel are the lobby and dining areas and this is clearly where they have made the most investment. Standard rooms in fact are pretty small and many seem to be located a long way from reception, but in general rooms are ok - we had stayed here before as the location is convenient for us. This time we were upgraded to a premier […] room because they had not received our booking through hotels.com and had no record of us when we first arrived. This was a bit stressful at 10.30pm after a long day, but fortunately I had printed out web confirmation and they eventually found something related to our booking on their system. It was a shame that we then had to go through the same explanatory process at check-out the following morning. I had paid already in full and again they had no record of this. The premier room was larger than standard and pretty comfortable, but I'm not sure I would pay the extra for it. As with other rooms we have stayed in. there was still a fair amount of road noise from the nearby motorway, but this depends which side of the hotel your room is on. Parking is £3 per night at the moment, but only £2 per night if you pre-book. Breakfast was fine - especially for the good B&B rate we had but we would have liked more fruit / yoghurt options. I enjoyed my short stay, the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I did not have breakfast as I was busy and had to travel on to the airport. The only improvement I suggest is the provision of free internet facilities, Wifi for the convenience of all guests.

The room was clean, cute but very small. The hotel is located about 3 miles away from Center City. You couldn't do anything in the area, unless you took a taxi. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and use the steamer. Also available were: squash, fitness center, spa. The food in the restaurant was just OK, however the prices were high for the quality presented. Booked a very comfortable, modern and clean double room through Super Saver. It also included a full English breakfast which didn't live up to the rest of the hotel in terms of quality. The whole thing cost 68 quid for both of us however. Outstanding!

The hotel was easy to find. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was more than adequate. Everything we needed and clean. We stayed bed & breakfast, the food was what we expected and again more than adequate. My only gripe if you can call it that was the distance from the town centre, however the bus stop was more or less on the doorstep […] and straight into the town centre. For once I didn't have to drive. Overall very happy, We would use it again and we would reccomend it to friends. Leer más

The physical facility is fine, but customer service and attitude is poor. Internet charges are exorbitant, food and food service are mediocre at best, newspaper racks are empty. If they are not going to buy newspapers, they should remove the racks. Pricing is crazy high during periods of high occupancy. The Barcelo offers a handy overnight stop and good excuse for a week-end away when we are dropping off our student son. We love Oxford and enjoy exploring the surrounding area, restaurants and trying out various hotels. Barcelo offers very good value, accommodation and service while located not too far from the city centre. We previously chose this hotel as we often stay at a Barcelo hotel in Tenerife. The Oxford hotel is modern, pleasant and the staff are friendly and efficient and we were staying the weekend to celebrate a family birthday. From our point of view (being seniors) there is a bus stop just opposite the hotel giving direct access to the city centre in about […] 10 mins. and we used our bus passes to go in and out as often as we needed. From our experience the buses are usually on time. Only downside on this occasion was the main course in the restaurant - the choice was rather limited and the dish chosen (boeuf bourgignon), was decidedly chewy. This was a disappointment as we chose to eat at the hotel as the weather had been cold and snowy. On the previou occasion we stayed the evening meal had been included on the first night and had been extremely well presented and was good value for money. Great hotel. Wonderful prices for 4 star quality, friendly and helpful employees, delicious room service. One complaint would have been it's distance from city center, although there were very near bus stops and quick cab service. If you've got the cash and need somewhere to stay, it's a great alternative to a hostel if youre a student and catch the […] right price day.
