Grand Hotel Savoia

A truly beautiful old world hotel with all the modern facilities you would expect. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The service and accommodations at this hotel are outstanding! Location to the cruise terminal is perfect, and the staff at the hotel were exceptional. My highest recommendation!!!

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, following all the reviews, the hotel is good until you stumble across the unprofessional staff and service. The laundry services lost my clothes for two days and no one had any clue where they were, have never seen such bad customer service, guess what they somehow found them on the day of departure and also remembered […] to bill me for the laundry as a thank you. The TV in my room was not working and apparently the technicians could not fix it either for three days. Over all a good hotel just doesn’t expect much from the staff or the services you get. I was really happy to arrive at this hotel. The staff were delightful, went out of their way to help! The room overlooked Piazza de la Verde, and the sun came right in the windows. The pieces of furniture and antiques were beautiful including glass lampshades and decor....it was better than I expected and for a 3* price. The breakfast buffet was […] probably the best I have had. Catered for every taste, with beautiful service. Also to my delight there was a free airport shuttle service for guests. Really how does it get any better than that? You will not be dissappointed, book now! It is by far the best hotel in the area. Don't need to leave too much of a review here, the hotel, complimentary breakfast, staff, and location were all top notch!! We did all our travelling via train, and this hotel is located directly across the street from the station. Would definitely stay here again.

Luxurious room. Outstanding service!!!! We were super impressed with everything from the decor, reception, beautiful public areas, first class rooftop city view and proximity to transit.

we only stayed at one 5 star hotel travelling around Italy so cannot compare but very satisfied - relatively inexpensive compared to Australian 5 star and every bit as good.

This hotel was a very pleasant surprise considering the price we paid. It was 5 Star at a 3 Star price. The hotel is situated just about 200 metres from the Central Railway station behind the statue of Christopher Columbus. Built in approximately 1896 the hotel has every modern convenience. Breakfast is 17 Euros which is quite expensive but other 5 Star hotels in Italy charge anything up to 40 Euros. There is a lovely cafe just 100 metres from the hotel where we had breakfast for 5 or 6 Euros.There is a very pleasant trattoria attached to the hotel which does traditional Italian dishes at a sensible price. Again the hotel restaurant does dinner but it is quite expensive. The location of the hotel is not great in relation to the centre/shopping area of Genoa but it is definitely walkable. Balbi street is definitely worth exploring next to the hotel and that road takes you into town. Altogether a very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend this hotel. Leer más

Friendly staff, Excellent Breakfast, Rooms are a bit on the small side. Lovely Restaurant but the beer is not cold. Good position,but surrounding area is very seedy. You need a car to get out of the city as we did.

This is a very beautiful hotel, located near the trains staion in Genoa. It is in the historic district and close to many restaurants. The hotel is very clean and well appointed. We would recommend it highly.

Nice Hotel, very close to train station, about a 15 min walk to Old Town or the Waterfront. Great view from the rooftop restaurant, also hot tub to enjoy on roof

We loved this hotel and it had to best breakfast in all Europe with an egg omelet chef and all. Everything you expect at a 5 star hotel. It is just across from the train station, which we took the next day to Nice. We waited around the city the night we arrived to discover to best Pesto sauce pasta at a restaurant that was still open late at night. […] yummy. Our hotel also provided free shuttle service to the airport so we can drop off our rent a car at the airport and they drove us back to the hotel that was nice. there is a great hot tub on the roof that no one tells you about, but we discovered it and did not have time to use. too bad but a great view of all the city. very nice, safe and clean lovely rooms. My husband and I enjoyed taking a hot bath together in the large lovely bath tub. Very nice bath rooms. They also provided robes and slippers. Excellent location, just 1 min away from train station. Excellent breakfast, nice bedroom/bathroom. Didn't know we could use the "Spa" at basement, should have given more info when we arrived at the hotel!!

The rooms are beautifully renovated with top of line linens and features. The front desk was most helpful with what to see and do. The breakfast is one of the best I have seen in my travels. I will certainly stay here again on my next trip to Genoa.

This is a very nice hotel for Italy standards. It is directly next to the main train station, and is nice if you are traveling by rail. They have a hot water pot in the room for coffee and tea, which isn't very common in Europe. My only complaint is that they have no clothes irons available - neither in the room nor at the desk. The people working at the front desk were amazing. Our luggage was lost by Delta Airlines and the hotel staff helped us with everything!

Me and my husband stayed here for our honeymoon in italian riviera. it was a perfect hotel with a great location right across the street from the train station. My husband LOVED the breakfast buffet there was a great spread. Genoa city itself did not have a lot to do in but it was a great portal to the rest of the riviera. trenitalia was easy to use. […] i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in genoa! The internal appearance and high quality of accommodation and service at the Grand Hotel Savoia are a pleasant surprise, given the modest external appearance of the building, its location next to the neglected central railway station and proximity to the multi-racial and multi-cultural sea port of Genova. Breakfast is good and, although I did not dine […] there, its restaurant was well used by hotel guests and dinner menu appeared to offer reasonable value for money. The rooftop ballroom terrace offers spectacular views over the city centre and waterfront. The hotel is walking distance from the narrow streets of the ancient city centre and the many renaissance palaces, including the former Genovan royal palace and the splendid university building. Buses serving most parts of the city stop outside the hotel. Must-see attractions include the royal palace, the redeveloped waterfront, with ancient its palace of St George (where Europe's first bank was established), the house of Christopher Columbus and a spectacular excursion over the hills to Casella on a narrow-guage railway (34 bus to Piazza Manin). Excellent location for us (right next to train station.) Wonderful breakfast buffet--I mean seriously good! Friendly service. Slightly dated interior but clean and comfortable. Near by neighborhood not wonderful but not dodgy either. Just not many restaurants etc. Would still recommend highly.

We stayed in this spa hotel to have a relaxing time chilling out in the spa facilities. These facilities were only available from 4pm to 8 pm. When we wandered down to the spa in our dressing gowns the key did not let us in. We went to reception and were told the facilities could only be used on payment of a ridiculous sum of money. Our room was small […] and looked out over a very large wall. The trains passed close by all through the night and were extremely noisy so we got little sleep. Great Hotel! Very clean and modern.

Great location near the train station. sheets were scratchy. This is a 5 star by european standards. In USA, this hotel would be a 4 star at best.

My second stay at this hotel in eight months, great location, clean rooms, abundant buffet. Would like to extend my gratitude to the front desk staff, especially Filippo , and Rocco who made us feel right at home. I stayed with my brother, and he was also impressed with the service provided.

The hotel has been newly renovated. The rooms and hallways have wood floors which are a nice touch but unfortunately every noisy. I could hear people walking and talking in the hallway. Someone had rented the rooftop garden for a party on Friday night and I could hear the music 3 floors down! The hotel didn't offer a very satisfying apology for the […] noise or inconvenience. This is a truly beautiful hotel, that is extremely well maintained, with super comfortable rooms - with very large bathrooms ( a true rarity in Europe), the most modern conveniences i.e., flat screen TVs, free internet in your room), and by far, the best and most plentiful breakfast […] buffet that I have ever seen - and I have traveled extensively for many years throughout the world. In addition, the hotel service staff was excellent, as well as the front desk (who speak multiple languages, including English, French, Spanish.) Whenever I return to Genoa in the future, I will look forward to staying at this majestic place. We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The staff was extremely helpful. The room very comfortable. The hotel is very close to all the attractions of Genoa. We had a car but no need to use it. The buffett breakfast was marvelours. Highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel is a small version of a US 4 star hotel. Everything, including rooms, was very nice a 4 star quality. Only drawback was the location. It is near the train station, but not on the end that you disembark from. It is also not in a tourist area, so there are minimal shops/restaurants in the very near vicinity. A 15 min walk takes you to the water […] front and other good areas. Note the restaurant is typical of an upscale hotel - a little expensive and the food is so-so. I ate there twice and did it only because there was nothing near, other nights went out for much better food at local restaurants. This is a very nice hotel that is close to old town, the waterfront, good food and easy access. The room was more american in size that my past stays in Italy. It was quiet, well appointed, and very comfrotable.

We loved the charm of the rooms and the attentive, helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was amazing and we enjoyed eating out on the terrace. Hotel is right next to the train station which is convenient. Neighborhood is a bit "iffy" at night.

I was sooo impressed with this hotel! The room was lovely, the bed was BY FAR the best we slept in during our time in Italy (feather doona, comfortable mattress). It's near to the train station and about 10 minutes walk from the main harbour. The City centre is about 15 minutes walk away. The hotel was excellent value for money. This is a grand old hotel with lots of history. It has had renovation over the years which has been positive. We stayed in the original grand side of hotel which had art deco decor and antique furnishings. Our room over looked Genoa's harbor and train station. The hotels breakfast (included in our room charge) was very good and had lots of variety. They also have outside dining which is a plus. would never know it's located accross the street from one of genovas' main train station. Close to some nice restaurants and pizzeria/bars. Rooms are nice and clean, so are the bedsheets changed daily. Breakfast buffet is extravagant, with something for all tastes. Will stay here again.

This is a nice little hotel and the interior looks grand but calling it a 5 star hotel is ridiculous. Rooms are small but nicely furnished. One restaurant with the same 5 main courses day after day. The worst I found was the service. Toilet not cleaned when cleaning the room. Took four phone calls during two hours for someone to fill the mini bar. ...... ist zumindest der Service an der Rezeption perfekt. Das Hotel ist einwenig in die Jahre gekommen. Handtuchwärmer funktioniert nicht richtig, eindeutige Spuren ehemaliger Hotelbewohner finden sich auch auf der Zimmertüre, Spinnweben bei den Nachttischlämpchen haben uns begrüsst und wer vor dem Zubettgehen noch einwenig in die Röhre schauen möchte […] findet ausser tsig-italienischen Sendern von denen keiner genügend gut übertragen wird und das Label "Signal zu schwach" trägt keine andern Sender, die man ungestört schauen könnte. Das Bad bietet kaum Ablageflächen, also muss wohl alles im Kulturbeutel verstaut bleiben. Dafür gabs jeden Tag frische Wasserflaschen auf das Zimmer, das Frühstücksbuffet ist riesig und schmackhaft. Wer keinen Filterkaffee möchte kriegt auch auf Nachfrage (aber auch nur auf Nachfrage) einen Kaffee von der Bar. Die Empfangsherren und Damen wie auch die im Restaurant sind sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wenn man die 5-Sterne ausblendet, waren wir eigentlich rundum zufrieden. Wenn man sich im Vorfeld nicht von den 5 goldenen Sternen blenden lässt, ist es sicherlich empfehlenswert. Leer más

idéalement situé dans Gênes à deux pas de la via Baldi, accueil chaleureux et prestations de haut niveau, ne surtout pas rater le petit dèj , extraordinaire, possibilité parking, en bref génial pour un week-end en amoureux !!!!!!!
