Les comparto esto porque considero que al hacer esta encuesta les interesa la opinion de sus clientes, y porque creo que se estan preocupando para mejorar su hotel y existen cambios que solo implican un poco de atención sin ningún gasto o minimo. La atención de la recepcionista fue deficiente, no recuerdo el nombre pero era una mujer cerca de los 40, no muy alta y un poco llenita que me atenndio el jueves al llegar como a la 1:00 am, le pregunte si hablaba español a lo cual se molesto y de ahi en adelante me atendio muy parcamente y sin ningún interes. La otra es las habitaciones estan muy bien en cuanto a baño y limpieza, pero les falta cambiar alfombra (gastada aunque limpia) y el sillon de la entrada se ve de tapiceria vieja y contrasta con lo demas que se ve que le estan hechando las ganas. Ah y el control de la tele se vei que tenia pilas nuevas pero no estaba programado para la tele por lo que no servia, y con la atencion que nos dio la señorita ni pensar en preguntar algo. El Lobby se ve muy bonito y amplio aparte de limpio. El desayuno talvez con un poco de fruta mejoraria bastante.

Un pequeño hotel enfrente de Japantown, con un diseño unico y original, todo funcionando y una atencion EXCELENTE. Sinceramente si encuentran una oportunidad con este hotel, RESERVARLO YA!!!

Perfecta localización de este pequeño pero acogedor hotel de San Francisco. Muy recomendable para una estancia de 3 - 4 días de turismo. Habitaciones un poco pequeñas, pero el precio razonable hace que la opción de este hotel sea muy interesante.

"Pretty good choice"
Very good location, a street across the Union Square. I emailed to the hotel asking for place my luggage for a few days before check-in since I had schedule to go to Yosemite with light luggage. I received quick response from them. Room is good although it is a little bit small. There are complimentary water/tea/coffee at the lobby.

"Chancellor Hotel- a great Union Square spot!"
This hotel was right off of Union Square, walking distance to all of the downtown shopping, dinning and attractions. It was a nice, eclectic little spot. Our room was very clean, the staff friendly. Great alternative to staying in one of the high priced mega chain hotels.

Been to San Francisco several times and wish I had discovered this hotel before , it's great a wonderful location , charming character and great staff . Rooms are lovely it beats more pricey hotels I have stated in the city hands down . Definitely be back
"Chancellor Hotel on Union Square - great location"
Location was great, hotel was clean, staff was incredibly nice. Beds were tiny, but we had twin beds so that might not be an issue for couples.
The Chancellor is a small but well-appointed hotel in a prime location near Union Square. You are welcomed with cookies and apples upon your arrival. The rooms are small but very comfortable. The staff is courteous and very helpful. Its location is one of the best...you can walk to everything.

"Thought I could handle the small size but couldn't"
I read the reviews on this place before coming and thought the small size was no big deal (I've stayed in NYC a few times and it's also notorious for small rooms). Also, I'm the type of person who often stays in Motel 6 to save a buck. But, it's a really small room! We had double occupancy. Our room had 2 twin beds about 2 ft apart. If you have bed […] by window, you are either squished on one side b/c the other bed is so close or squished on window side b/c there's a chair and table too close. The other bed is almost against the room wall so no space. They wasted a ton of space on a walk-in closet. You could fit another twin bed in there - the closet was so big. My friend and I bumped into each other many times. The bed was also very uncomfortable. I think Motel 6 has a better mattress. Location is really good - right in Union Square and a trolley comes by regularly. Also very close to Chinatown. For location, great but this is a one night hotel at best. Leer más
"Perfect for our stay"
Perfect location for our short stay. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Short walks to shopping, BART, restaurants and cabs. Love to stand out front and watch the daily activity plus the cable cars.

"Satisfied, but would not return"
I stayed at this hotel at the recommendation of a colleague. I enjoy hotels with character, but the rooms I were put in had extremely small bathrooms (with very limited counter space. The first room I was placed in had a fire door that opened into my door, making the entryway not large enough and the second room (since I asked to be moved) had open […] windows onto a fire escape. We’ve stayed at the Chancellor at least 10 times in the last 5 years. It’s a great place and much nicer than the other 3 star hotels in Union Square. We’ve always been satisfied both with the service and condition of the hotel, however this time we stayed in Room 304. It was an inside room with a window that opened to a concrete wall 10 feet away. "Excellent value and service with great location"
This is a friendly small hotel with excellent service just off Union Square. It is not as updated or chic as some of its newly renovated, much costlier neighbors but it is very clean and attractive and extremely well located. It was our third stay and we will be back...highly recommended.
"A good clean city hotel"
The hotel room was clean and tidy though small and the building being quite old. I cannot complain. However the walls were extremely thin and we had some noisy neighbours for one of our nights but this resolved by the reception desk once a complain was made.

Very noisy work in next door building. We got moved from 9th floor to 14th floor within minutes. Got upgraded to a suite in the process. Very professional handling of the situation.

We were in town for new years and wanted some place centrally located to bart, muni, shopping and restaurants. We lived in SF so we know our way around and I figured this was as good as it was going to get. The hotel and our room were clean and staff was pleasant. If you're more interested in the city than your hotel room than this is a good place. Had two different rooms-8th floor at the back very quiet and comfortable, 11th floor room at the front was a bit noisier and too hot. The staff was great and overall the hotel was extremely pleasant and convenient.
On check in, was given a room in the front of hotel. I then requested a quieter room (in the back of the hotel). They gave me a quiet room, but I had to wait 1 hour, as room wasn't ready. Overall, a great stay, as location convenient for tourists, beds were comfortable. Cons: no refrigerator or microwave in room, no breakfast included, still somewhat […] noisy from street noise, but they provided a white noise machine on request. Lobby had apples, coffee/tea and cookies, which was nice. Also there was a concierge in lobby that was very helpful with muni system (sold passes too), and we were able to store bags until our plane left (for a few hours). We didn't have a car, but if we did, they charge $29/day for self parking and more for valet parking. Leer más
"Truly Old school charm in the best location!"
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights just before Christmas. Must say, read all the reviews and what they say are all true. The Chancellor is a bit old but definitely has the charms. A very friendly environment with helpful staff. Kudos to Susan who aided immensely with booking tours and travel passes. If you are staying for a few days, do yourself […] a favour, get a Muni Passport. You can catch all the public transport in San Francisco which really is great. The hotel is located on the Powell Cable Car Line and each ride usually costs $6 so the passport pays for itself instantly. Also, the hotel is very easy to access from the airport, simply take the air shuttle to the BART station and get off at Powell. Head north 5 minutes and you there. Located next to vibrant union square with el primo shopping on Post st. A short walk east to market st and hop on the F tram and within minutes you are at fisherman's warf. Lots of quality cheap eats within 2 blocks (google it). Recommend King of Noodles and Arisashi Ramen. Powell is close to the Tenderloin district, so you get the occasional looney/beggars but that is pretty common no matter where you go in San Fran. If you want the best location, great value, friendly service then look no further than the Chancellor! Leer más

This was our second stay and so we knew what to expect. The surface of the bathtub was peeling and the condition of other bathroom surfaces was questionable, but the beds were comfortable. I would stay here again and have no issues, but for those of you who wake up easily from loud exterior noises this is not a good choice. Being as close to union square as this is makes the outside noise level very high. Combine that with cable cars, taxis, and trucks and it makes for a loud environment. "Very conveniently located"
The hotel is within working distance to good dinning, shopping area and transport. Staff are very courteous and helpful especially people at Tour Desk. Offer 24 hour free HotTea, Coffee and biscuit at Lobby which is fantastic for cold weather or if you are leaving early morning when the restaurants are not open yet.

The best thing about this hotel was its location. Block away from Macy's, shopping, few blocks away from the Westfield center, good restaurants in the vicinity, convenient to get on the tour buses, trolley stops etc. Did not really spend a lot of time in the room, but I felt like I got a return on what I paid for (esp considering the prices in SF). So, neighboring hotels include The Sir Francis Drake, Marriott and The Westin St. Francis... with top hotels like those as neighbors, how can The Chancellor Hotel not be great? The Chancellor Hotel has immense character at a fraction of the cost. Highlights include: nice, clean rooms with LCD TV's, free Wi-Fi, room safe, ceiling fan over the bed, complimentary […] gym access to Club One (a block away) and close by sundry items easily available from Walgreens and 7-Eleven. "Almost perfect."
Very Clean! For an older establishment I was impressed with the cleanliness, although, it shows a bit of wear in some places. The rooms are on the small side but comfy. I had a queen room on the Powell St side. Nice view, but it was noisy the second night. LOL Lots of trucks gathering garbage or something. No biggie. But, seeing the view from my brothers […] room on the opposite side, I would put up with the noise.His room was quieter. Just bring some earplugs. My only complaint was that there is no in-room coffee available. They do offer free coffee, tea, cookies, and fruit in the lobby. The bed was also very comfortable with 4 pillows. The wifi is throughout. The hotel is situated beautifully for sightseeing in all the touristy places. I would always book the room/parking package. It is well worth the nominal charge considering how expensive and non-existent parking is in S.F.. We parked the car upon arrival and didn't need it 'til we left. We walked to China Town. Took the cable cars and trolleys to Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, Port of SanFrancisco etc.. The staff at the hotel are accomodating, offering service where it is needed. We felt very safe there. There is a Walgreens nearby for any item forgotten. Lots of high end shopping within a block or so. Lots of good restuarants. All decked out for Christmas since it is 2 weeks away. "5 star location at a 3 star price"
Perfectly located hotel-on Union Square, on the Cable car line, next to Sears Fine Foods, next to a 24 hour Walgreens, across the street from Starbucks, free coffee, tea and cookies all day. Plus the people are soooo nice. Family has been coming here for over 20 years at the same time each year and we have never been disappointed with the excellent […] service and kindness of the people who work here. The Chancellor.....where to start.... This hotel is simply AMAZING. You cannot find a hotel in a better area with this level of service for ANY price. It is right on the cable car line....it's literally ON TOP OF union square soooo many shops!!! Free WIFI is the best, comfy beds, clean rooms....what more do you want!
