Desde la llegada, la amabilidad en la recepción es muy manifiesta. Muy cerca del Museo de Historia Natural, Parque Central, Universidad de Columbia, Estación del metro, etc.

Reserve este hotel para pasar el año nuevo en NY, me lleve una grata sorpresa, las habitaciones son tal cual se ven en la fotografía es verdad que el aire acondicionado es un poco ruidoso, pero nada que impida dormir. Me resivieron muy atentos hasta una carta de bienvenidas dejaron. La habitación buena, la limpieza adecuada esta muy cerca del central […] park se puede ir caminando y a dos cuadras esta el metro que solo a dos estaciones llegas al centro. Recomiendo este hotel y feliz volvería las personas muy amables. Un detalle no tiene estacionamiento y cobran creo que 45 dólares diarios por estacionar lo frente al hotel, pero si tienen suerte como yo en la misma calle se pueden encontrar estacionamientos gratis. Hotel antiguo en regular estado de conservación, con muy buenos accesos, cerca del subterraneo, del Parque, de buenos restaurantes, de lugares de interés turistico. El único problema son los ascensores, hay uno solo en funcionamiento más el de servicio, si tienes suerte y lo encuentras vacio. Con un poco más de mantenimiento y dedicación sería óptimo. Me sentí muy cómoda en el hotel.

Todo súper bien, lo único que en el aparato del aire acondicionado sonaban las gotas de lluvia al caer y no se podía dormir, pero por lo demás perfecto. Línea 1 de metro al laíto, te vas a Times Square y desde ahí a donde quieras. No es una cosa del otro mundo pero creo que tiene buena relación calidad / precio.

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Yes the room was small, but the bathroom was a very good size, there was a fridge in the room (very useful when you're in NYC for Restaurant Week), and at the end of the day, we didn't spend much time in the room. And, of course, the location is unbeatable: 2 blocks from the train, a few blocks from […] Central Park and the Natural History Museum,and a block away from Starbucks. For breakfast, there is a great 24-hour bakery/deli across the street from the hotel. As for the construction that was going on, the noise did not start until some time after 9am and by then we were out and about. Will definitely be returning to the hotel in the future. Leer más

The hotel is under construction but the staff is nice and the hotel is clean. The only issue we had was the pergo floors had sticky footprints that I cleaned myself and the tile in the bathrooms were dark green and dirty. The grout also had a little mold but dark tile & dark grout in a low lit bathroom may not have been the best choice. The room (queen-size bedroom) was relatively small but comfortable and quite functional. The bathroom/shower was ample in size and clean. All-in-all, a nice place to stay in the City.

We were exhausted the first day so my husband and I just went to sleep without even turning the tv on. The next day we realized that the tv didn't work, the safety box didn't work, and the alarm clock didn't work... We missed our appointment because the clock was late by 30 minutes. After I made a call to the front desk, they upgraded the room for us […] but this time we forgot to bring a bag with us from the room which we forgot for half a day ( we had tons of luggage) and when I called the front desk they said that I hadn't left anything in the room... Hotel was in a great location and the rooms are lovely, however the central heating clunked so loudly all night (and day) that it kept me awake, and when I asked them to bleed the radiators they said it was just fine. I travel frequently to NYC, usually staying midtown. I wanted to try a different location and booked the belleclaire. This place was great. Staff was truly outstanding helping me resolve a wifi problem my first night. They were very impressive, cordial, friendly, and on top of things. Walking distance to Central Park, and close to the subway. Great restaurants in close proximity. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and we had a view of the Hudson River. Also, loved the little local markets nearby. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed for a second time at Hotel Belleclaire and received great service. Very affordable for the location; safe area, too. Walking distance to several museums and plenty of eateries. Don't miss Nick's or Beard Papa's Cream Puffs. Everyone was very polite and welcoming. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

The hotel was fine. We got a superior room. It was very small making me wonder if we really had a regular room. Other than that it was fine. We were visiting our daughter so we only slept there.

This was my 4th or 5th stay at Hotel Belleclaire. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is great. The hotel has been undergoing some renovations during the past couple of years and I'm happy to report that the windows were all properly sealed and both elevators were in fine working order. My only negative comment is that while it is pretty quiet in the rooms regarding street noise and adjacent rooms, sound from the hallway is very loud in the rooms. I think it is a quirk of the building. Lots of 24-hour food options nearby and quick access to the Subway line to get anywhere you need to go. The beds are very comfortable and the room, large, for New York, and everything was very clean. This is our top choice for location, value, and neighborhood when staying on the Upper West Side. Only stayed here one night but felt very comfortable. Room was clean and well-appointed. It was a little larger than anticipated. Very nice neighborhood. A little less bustling than midtown. Easy subway access to get to the hustle and bustle if you want it. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and have recommend HB to others.

The good: - located on Manhattan (far from being the ideal location, though) - shops and restaurants within walking distance. You can even consider walking to the main attractions (Rockfeller, Empire State, Times Square (allow 30min walk), Bryant Park, etc...) - subway station nearby - rooms are small but clean The not so good: - the hotel corridors […] and lobby look like they've seen better days (a long time ago) - cracks in the washbasin's surface and various imperfections of that caliber that can easily be dismissed, but makes the 4* claim preposterous The altogether bad: - TV reception so bad you could not consider watching TV, unless you fancied a headache. It was -10C outside, so admittedly we stayed indoors a bit longer than we would normally do - hence why we could not help noticing the TV issue. - First thing we had to do on her first night was to use virtually all the towels from the bathroom to stop the draught from the air-conditioning unit (one of those afixed directly to the window) and from the poor seal from the midsection of the second window. Although the air-con unit was contained in a wooden cabinet, there was a 10cm gap at the bottom of the enclosure. Did I mention it was -10C outside? We could see the same thing on the nearby rooms' windows, so we did not bother asking for another room. So: consider twice before booking this hotel in the middle of winter. All in all, it was OK for the price, but if you are looking for a REAL 4*, check out the Pearl, near Times Square. Leer más

My girlfriend and I took our first trip to NYC over the Christmas holidays and the Hotel Belleclaire made our stay incredibly comfortable. It's a quaint little hotel that mixes old-style charm with modern-day conveniences. The narrow hallways are really cool and beautifully decorated. The room itself was clean and spacious with a gorgeous bathroom. […] It's located in a calm neighbourhood on the Upper West Side and it was a great place to come back to and relax after a long day of sight seeing. Stayed at the Hotel Belleclaire for 7 nights with my husband and 17 year old son in the family room. Very impressed with the size of the room although felt that 2 fridges, 2 irons, 2 ironing boards and 2 safes was a little bit excessive. There was not a lot of storage space either. After looking at photos of the hotel was quite looking forward to seeing […] our plush bathroom and was very disappointed! The bathroom was so small the sink was almost on top of the toilet. Also there wasn't enough room to dry yourself after having taking a shower. The towels were left on top of the toilet as there was insufficient room to put them elsewhere which I thought was a little unhygenic. Traffic noise was very bad at night and also complained about the banging pipes in our bedroom. Don't think this was rectified as they continued to bang throughout our stay. Not sure if this is a problem in all the rooms though. Having to go down to the reception in the morning for coffee was a little offputting and there was no complimentary breakfast as described! However the hotel is close to the subway/Central Park. This hotel would be OK for a short stay but I think we could have stayed in a better hotel for the money we paid. We are a large family and this hotel had the perfect set up for us, two rooms that were combined by opening up the wall to make one lovely family room. Our four children and my husband and I were very pleased, especially for the price!

If you want to experience New York the way New Yorkers experience it, this is the place. It's in Jerry Seinfeld's neighborhood--a few block north of Fairway Market and a few blocks south of Zabar's. The staff is professional friendly and very accommodating. It's a quick subway ride to the theatre district, a short walk to the Museum of Natural History, […] and a short bus ride from the Metropolitan. Furnishings are elegant and up to date. Great hotel, very reasonable for the price... exceeded our expectations. Not close to downtown highlights, but great restaurants/cafes nearby and close to central park. We'll stay here again.

We were very disappointed with this hotel as the photos made it look very modern and upscale (very deceiving), Thankfully we only stayed there one night. The lobby is small, crowded and non-descript. The furniture in the rooms was banged and chipped ,and the window was blockaded by a window air conditioner . The bed was good. The bathroom was tiny and […] shabby although it was clean. On top of all this, they demanded a $20 room deposit which was to be returned immediately upon our departure . We have not received it back to date. Leer más

This was a great hotel very close to central park and the Museum of Natural History. It was a little tight through the hallways, but the room was very spacious and the bed was great! We stayed in the hotel Belleclaire just before Christmas. Our room was on the third floor facing the corner of Broadway. The location is excellent with some great bars and restaurants nearby and it is close to the subway. Amsterdam Diner is fab for breakfast. Central Park and Natural History Museum are a couple of blocks away. Negatives were the noisy […] radiator and the street noise was intrusive. that said i was so tired i slept like a log through the night. but this might not be the place if you are a light sleeper and/or if you have a baby with you.

Reservations were made the same day and they upgraded us to a junior suite. Very clean and friendly.

The hotel room was miniscule -- it was barely possible to find a place for my suitcase or my toiletries,no place to walk around, and the "desk" was a tiny table in the room's odd little entrance hallway. There was no room service (just phone #s for a couple of pizza delivery places), and no list of nearby eateries. The coffee had to be obtained in the […] entrance lobby, right next to the door, which involved showering and dressing before coffee. All in all, a LOT of money for what there was, although I'm given to understand this is typical for this part of Manhattan (I don't travel to NYC much). The concierge was helpful, though, and the hotel was just a couple of blocks from the subway, so it was pretty convenient and the neighborhood was nice. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Leer más

The hotel room itself was lovely... the hallways were outdated and rundown looking but the room totally made up for it! The staff was all very friendly. One of their rooms with a king size bed was open and they upgraded us to it for free!

A lovely European style hotel just off Broadway. Easy access to subway, clean and modern rooms, and polite and helpful staff. I would recommend to other travelers.

Very clean common areas and rooms. Rooms well equipped with a small fridge, ironing board and iron, big flat screen tv, MP3 dock/radio. Strangely, you have to ask at the reception for a hairdryer. Bathroom was very small, but spotless. The neighbourhood provides for all your daily needs and steps from public transport. There was no noisy construction […] work going on during my visit, although a house is being built across the street. Staff is pleasant. Very small room with no windows. Bed had to be in a corner which is not ideal for sharing. The only redeeming feature is it convenient for the subway.

Booked a standard room, which was clean, bed comfortable, but lacking in space - place to open one suitcase only, nowhere to hang coats (hangers and hooks were on inside bathroom door, in bathroom, which meant that's where your clothes would be stored) - no closet, no drawers. Biggest problem, though, was uncontrollable heat in the room. We turned off […] the radiator, and the man they sent from the front desk told us to open the window, which we did, wide, but there was no air exchange. The heat was radiating from pipes within the walls. Management refused to move us, saying hotel was full. Suffice it to say, it was a very uncomfortable night. The next morning, to compensate us, they gave us a voucher for breakfast or lunch (specific items only) at a nearby diner. Leer más
