Best Western Plus Tuscan Inn at Fisherman's Wharf

We stayed for two nights in October and were very happy with the location of the hotel and staff working there. They had a wine invitational every night from 5-6pm for hotel guests which was a nice way to start the evening. The room was clean and all the amenities were available. The bed was a little stiff and was a double not a queen, which made a […] difference for me and my husband (both 6 feet tall +), but if we weren't traveling with one other person, we could have just gotten a king bed and it woudn't have been an issue. The bathroom was very nice with new fixtures and I was excited about the tall vanity (again, I'm 6 feet tall), and the bathroom was roomy. I would recommend for light sleepers to ask for a non-street front room (North Point St.) At night (no matter what time of week) the wharf gets a little louder and I was woken up several times by motorcycles, an arguing couple and then the trash/recycling trucks early in the morning. Other than that, it was a great stay. They also helped arrange transportation to the airport (it will be about $50 + tip for a towncar, which would be the shortest ride and best deal for 3 or more people or $16-18 p/ person for a shuttle). This hotel is located perfectly for people visiting San Francisco. It is a block away from the Wharf and takes only 5 mins to walk. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. We are a family of 4 and we found that the rooms were comfortable and large enough for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay.

We booked the hotel on the day we arrived due to the apartment we had previously booked being a disaster!! The booking clerk helped find a room for three nights and we decided to stay for another seven nights. The hotel was very comfortable and clean, however it did lack a few luxuries in the bathroom and also breakfast was not included. It was a very […] convenient location and we felt quite safe at all times. Close to Broadway, Fifth Avenue, Times Square and also Metro. Nice restaurants close by and Irish pubs serving affordable meals. We probably tried them all on 45th and 44th Ave!!!For us this hotel turned out to be our saviour but it is not a personal hotel and I guess you would book something smaller and more expensive if you wanted this. The location of the Hotel is great, right at Fishermans Wharf. The service from the entire staff was very good. The only negative was the bathroom was quite small. I would stay there again and would recommend it to others.

Perfect location to many attractions. Everyone we dealt with at the hotel were helpful and very plesant.

We had a fantastic time at the Tuscan Inn. The hotel is really well presented the rooms are exactly what I expected from San Francisco life well presented and clean with really in keeping decor. It is right in the heart of Fishermans Wharf, walking distance to the Alcatraz boat pier, Boudin Bakery and almost all the tours of San Francisco leave from […] around this district so its fantastic for sight seeing. From a food point of view the italian restauraunt cafe pescatore associated with the hotel is fantastic for delicious evening meals and they will deliver pizza to your room if you dont feel like venturing out fantastic quality and service. Although breakfast is not included in most of the hotel rates there are some fantastic places to eat within walking distance of the hotel I would particularly recommend the Hollywood Cafe across the road amazing breakfast options. Our only slight problem was that the hotel is almost impossible to access by public transport - the BART system will take you as far as Market Street but all the methods of transport for getting up the hills to Fishermans Wharf are impossible to access with large suitcases so a taxi is your only option or hiring a car. Overall I would rate this hotel very highly it was perfect for a short trip to San Francisco if you want to be right in the heart of things to see as much as possible in a short period of time. The room was rather small. The "so called" reception in the evening, was very sparce. The location was very convenient. The people were quite courteous.

Lovely hotel to stay in. Good location right at pier 39, only a short distance to city centre. Reception in the evening gave the opportunity to meet lots of new people. Nice one hotel and staff.

Our room was very small and incredibly expensive coupled with the parking fees - i dont think we would consider staying with you ever again.

Hotel was very nice. The location is great, only a few blocks from the Pier. The only down-fall is that the hotel does not offer a court yard. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful!

Traveling with our 90 yr old Mom, who uses a wheelchair, was not a problem at this lovely, close to Fisherman's Wharf hotel. The staff went out of their way to accomodate our every need. This included above and beyond services such as having hotel maintenance fix a broken footrest on her wheelchair. The hotel is within walking distance of Pier 39 and the famous Fisherman's Wharf. The concierge, Nichole, was extremely helpful and cheerful. Gave is a list of places to eat and drink. Rooms are bright and fairly roomy-clean. Not much of a view, but who comes to SF to stay in a room?

This is now the second time I have stayed at this hotel, it is very clean, very convieniently located and the staff is very helpful and courtious. I WILL be staying there again on my next visit. Staff was very nice. I had to get a little firm at check in because they wouln't accomidate my double bed request. The lady talked to a manager and it wasnt' a problem. Staff very friendly. Went out of their way to make hot chocoloate for my daughter. Only thing that I really didn't like about the hotel was the windows. The hotel is two blocks from Fishermans Wharf. We could see a tiny view of the bay and a great view of Coit Tower from our room on the fourth floor. The desk staff were super helpful and friendly. Valet parking was a plus, just dump your car and forget it.

Hotel wasn't as nice as what we thought from the pictures online and wouldn't say it was worth it based on price but the location was primo - so obviously this is what you are paying for. This hotel is very expensive for the size of the room. The room is very very small so don't set your expectations too high. The staff was friendly and the hotel is in a great spot, but definitely overpriced. If I come back, I will find a different place to stay.

This hotel is in a great location. It is within walking distance to most downtown San Francisco attractions. Clean and very famliy friendly.

This hotel had a friendly staff that were very welcoming. We reserved basic accommodations and when we first went to the front desk to check-in, we noticed what great customer service the lady in front of us getting. The front desk was letting her know about all the things to do in surrounding areas, gave her options as to what floor to stay on, told her about complimentary breakfast, etc. When we excitedly […] approached the front desk, we were greeted with a different type of service- we were merely asked for our information, and given our keys. He wasn't even willing to work with us to upgrade our bed size. The room was nice, but VERY small considering the price. The surrounding Fisherman's Wharf area is surrounded with aggressive homeless people. While it was a convenient location for tourism, we wouldn't stay there again. Nice hotel for tourists - just two blocks from the waterfront and close to restaurants and shops in Fisherman's Wharf. Easy to get around by foot or take the tram or a bus. A nice thing was that the hotel served free drinks every day 5-6 pm. But when we asked for a hot drink at 11 pm in the restaurant we were asked to wait in the lobby - and the man […] never came back. So the restaurant personnel was not very good. The room was OK but it was light in the morning as there were no curtains to draw, just wooden blinds. Super noisy! Could hear every car,truck and bus that went by. Great if you are into counting cars all night long. They need to invest in some better windows for noise reduction and better window coverings to keep the light out. More like a torture treatment than a weekend getaway.

I reserved a non smoking room with double beds and was told that they did not have any. Instead they gave us a smoking room with double beds. The front desk they would bring a O-zone machine to try and help with the smell. They never did. If it wasn't for the convenient location and good beds I would not recommend this hotel.

Overall, the hotel was ok. There was a grocery store and a laundromat nearby, and Fisherman's Wharf was just a couple of blocks away. The bed sheet had an old stain but we ignored. We had a one king bed room. The bathroom was very small but I guess it's common in hotels in any major city. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is expensive and the rooms are small but it is san Fran and the location is great for all the tourist stuff. Staff was excellent and VERY helpful.

The hotels.com review didn't match up with the actual rules/laws of the hotel. discrepancies weren't that far off base, but different none-the-less. The room was amazing. Loud when the trash truck came, I recommend staying in garden view rooms. The staff was helpful. I missed having a free breakfast. WE HAVE STAYED THE BEFORE AND LOVED IT THATS WHY WE WENT BACK.THE ONLY COMPLAINT THAT I HAVE IS THE INNER SHOWER CURTAIN WAS MOLDY. I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHERE THE SMELL WAS COMING FROM IN THE BATHROON UNTIL I GOT IN THE SHOWER THE NEXT MORNING-THAT WAS GROSS

One surprise we received was the $48 / night to park a car at the hotel otherwise it was a very nice place.

I enjoyed the hotel very much. I loved the price, the staff, and my room... the parking was a bit pricey though. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay close to the Wharf and doesn't want to drive/taxi.

Best Western Plus Tuscan Inn at Fisherman's Wharf is strategically close from almost everything you need while in San Francisco. There is Safeway, Wallgreen, US Post Office, and a bus stop across the street. An italian restaurant is in front of the hotel. Walking 2 blocks north, you'll be right in the middle of Fisherman's Wharf and are so close to […] Pier 39. My husband and I love the cozy,Tuscany-style decor around the front office, the living room (with fireplace) and inside our room. This pet-friendly hotel offers complimentary coffee and tea every morning, free wine reception every evening and free wi-fi throughout. I even surprised the hotel provides iPod dock station, Nintendo player, and on-demand movie channel Lodgenet in every room. We stayed 3 nights in this hotel, and were very pleased with it. We had my 94 year old mother in the room next door and she was also very pleased, except with her stringent breakfast requirements. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The bed was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and attentive. As far as we were concerned there were […] only 2 negatives. Each room has a coffee maker, which is not good for making tea. They took about 50 minutes to get the water hot enough to make coffee or tea, and did not get it hot enough to add milk. I enquired about a kettle or jug, but they did not have one, so it meant making the tea, adding milk, and putting it back into the pot and wait another 15 minutes, so having a cup of anything took at least an hour. At least they did have refrigerators in the room. The second was the onsite Restaurant. We travel a lot, and this was our 20th World trip, each over a month, so are well used to hotels. It is an Italian Restaurant , and the food seemed fine, but not everyone wants to eat Italian all the time, and there was nothing else on the menu. The breakfast was served there, and it was a la cart, with a fairly limited range, but the pricing was good for what they had. This made getting breakfast a slow process, not getting what you actually wanted. On the last day, we found the Restaurant at the Marriot, about 150m down the road, this was a full buffet and was excellent, but a bit more expensive, so we were annoyed that we only noticed in time to have one dinner and the breakfast there the next morning. Both were excellent, the breakfast was a bit more expensive, but a lot more varied. As far as the hotel went, we were very pleased, except the minor problem of making tea. They were happy to bring a jug of hot water on request, but that was out of their coffee maker, so not exceptionally hot, and the San Francisco water is very chlorinated, where pure water was $3/gallon at the nearby 7-11. Excellent hotel - good value foir money in a very convenient location enabling us to walk to all Fisherman's Wharf locations. The hotel was well maintained and all staff helpful and pleasant. The free wine each evening was an added bonus. Would happily stay here again.

It was a very comfortable stay. the room was cozy and small, but perfect for just the two of us. We explored Fisherman's Wharf and enjoyed our weekend away from the kids. It was fun for just the two of us. thanks for a great weekend away from our kids to reconnect and have fun together.

The location of the hotel is great for walking around San Francisco and seeing the "touristy" things, especially down at Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39. The hotel was comfortable and clean, with friendly service, and my family and I loved the complimentary coffee in the lobby in the mornings. Also, in a city with a strong foodie culture, there aren't a ton of great restaurants in the area immediately surrounding the hotel.
