I stayed in a few hotels, all similar standard, on a recent trip to Berlin/Dresden. This one stands out because of its slightly funky colouring, mainly in the lobby and open and bright bar area. Slight negatives: corridors that seem really long, similar policy to Internet access to the other hotels (a fairly pricey extra).

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helped us with all our questions. The rooms were big and comfortable and I really enjoyed the music channels on the TV (being an english speaking person they were the only channels we understood). 25 min from airport Berlin Tegel Very clean rooms. even though room was next to main street, it was no problem to sleep. --> good acustic insolation. Shortcomings: Breakfast not included in room price and with 21 EUR expensive. We went for breakfast to some cafes. No free internet.

we stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and enjoyed the size of our room (superior), the cleaniness, location, and service. The only drowbacks are the mattress which was a bit too soft for us and also the high cost of the buffet breakfast (21 euros). This is an excellent hotel and is near enough to walk to a lot of the main attractions in Berlin. Upon our arrival the staff were very welcoming and we were upgraded to a business room which was great. Lovely hotel, great location - only downside is breakfast is not included in the cost of the room and if you want breakfast its quite alot extra. In saying that there are lots of eateries in the area where you can get a wide choice of food for next to nothing.

pillows needed to be fluffier, but the rest was fine! close to kurfursten metro stop, and not too bad to reach from zoologischer garden stop from sxf airport either

Hotel Berlin, Berlin is in a quite neighbourhood about 10 mins walk from the nearest underground stop Nollendorf Platz The Hotel is modern, spacious and clean and staff are extremely helpful. We didn't eat in the hotel as breakfast was expensive at 21 euros each so we found cafes nearby where we could sit outside and people watch. Some nice restaurants […] nearby include Edd's Thai, a lovely Italian (can't remember the name) on the way to Edd's Thai and a German restaurant called Ambrosia right near the hotel. Leer más

Great hotel,great location for all sights

Stayed at Hotel Berlin from Thursday till Sunday. Thurs / Friday we did most of our touring around, Sightseeing bus tour as on Saturday it was extreamly busy, even in March. We had a Superior room on the 6th floor. The room would be the equivelent of any other classic room in a 4 star hotel that we have stayed in. No bathroom extras, shower cap, body […] lotion. I've never heard of a hotel that does'nt have a double blanket... We ordered a double bed, and it was annoying enough for me and my wife to sleep in seperate beds (of course we moved the 2 twin beds closest as possible, but still felt the gap between...), so at least we expected to feel like we're sleeping together in our anniversary we celebrated in […] this holiday... They told us they don't have double blankets even for those who got double beds... strage, ah? But besides that, the hotel is nice and clean. The rooms are big and comfortable. The crew is formal and not too friendly, but polite and helpful. The location is good: 5 minutes walking from an underground station and busses (just ignore the prostitutes that standing there at night... hehe) Leer más

The room and hotel were great. We stayed there 8 nights and had no problems. They cleaned the room really well each day and the hotel staff was nice. The location is great. Easy bus ride from the airport to the hotel. (only one transfer at the Zoo). Bus route 100 stops right in front of the hotel and goes to many of the tourist areas. We stayed here for four nights and it was great. Right by the bus stop and not too far from the U-ban station. The room was nice and the staff were friendly. Although the breakfast was way too expensive (19euro for a buffet) and they only had a shampoo/ body wash/ hand wash all in one thing on the wall. I'd stay here again, but eat else where.

We stayed in the Hotel Berlin, Berlin for two nights in October 2010. The hotel is conveniently located. A short walk to U-Bahn and Zoo Station is also within walking distance. We reserved a non-smoking room but none were available at our arrival. The reception was apologetic, but I would not have booked here had I known I would have a smoking room. […] So this is a fairly serious mistake from my point of view. The hotel breakfast buffet was so incredibly expensive that I didn't try it. We were a little surprised that this was considered a 4-star hotel, as the rooms were large but uninspired. The bathroom offered only a pump of generic hand/body/shampoo soap, for example. But I guess there are other services provided that we weren't interested in. Leer más

A great Hotel with ambience to match. The first room we checked in was way too small and we asked it to be changed. We were then upgraded to a better quality room which was just so much nicer and comfortable. The location is fairly central and all the shopping is a short walk away. Large modern room with all the amenities. Restaurant menu could be improved. Concierge condescending and not very helpful. Front desk people, on the other hand, spoke English and took the time to answer questions. Wireless internet was expensive and should have been complementary. April is a warm local German restaurant with excellent atmosphere, food […] and value. Sao Mai was another excellent Vietnamese eatery that was very affordable. Both near the local U- bahn station. Staff were incredible nice. Hotel was very clean. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Bus stop right outside the hotel and U bahn is just a 5 min walk. Quiet area, not many shops or bars nearby. The only small issue I had was I booked a twin room, however when I got there only a king bed was available.

Stayed at Hotel Berlin with 7 friends and we were genuinely happy with the hotel. It was modern, clean and friendly....for the money I would highly recommend it.

Only one small issue- the fridge wasn't working properly, but all else was wonderful. Great place to stay if you don't mind a little walking.

This large hotel is located in a tree lined area near the river and Barhaus Museum. There are local shops and restraunts close by. Also the metro (2 lines) and a regular bus service to the town centre. The breakfasts are nice but pricey and are badly let down by the tasteless coffee.

Well we arrived at Berlin Berlin at 1145 Friday night and the staff were very inviting and happy to see us. The reception and bar area are exactly what you would expect out of a 4+* hotel. The room was spacious and we got a pretty good rate so ticked all the boxes there. Location wasn't to bad either about 15 min bus ride to alexander platz (east berlin) […] and a 10 min bus to unterlinden (brandenburg gate). This was a great hotel; on the Bus #11 line but near enough to the Zoo Train Station to walk. The hotel staff was helpful and many spoke very good English. The rooms were quiet even though we were on a main raod. I have only one complaint and that was that the light in the bathroom was dim made it a little difficult to put on make-up. The hotel is very sleek and modern which we really liked. They had table football and a cool football hologram in the center of the lobby for you to play in. The room was simple, clean and modern with a super comfy bed. One really great amenity that's not common in European hotels is an iron but this facility has an iron and a board for your use in […] the room. The location is convenient to the hop on hop off bus line and many public transport links. It was also a long but enjoyable walk from the hotel to the Ku'damm (about 30 minutes on a super full stomach). The only drawback is that there are prostitutes strolling about a block to the rear of the property. Since prostitution is legal in the city not such a big deal to us but may be an important factor for those with children. Leer más

This was our first visit to Berlin. We chose Hotel Berlin because the room rates were very good for a 4.5 star hotel, it had good reviews and was in a very convenient location. Reception staff speak English and are helpful. A friendly bellboy takes your luggage up to your room for you. Our room was very spacious, comfortable, well-lit and clean, […] with tea/coffee-making facilities and a mini fridge. There is a supermarket just across the street. The bus-stop is also just around the corner and you can catch the hop-on hop-off sight-seeing buses from here too. Kurfürstendamm (Ku'damm), Berlin's popular shopping street, and the famous KaDeWe department store are within easy walking distance of the hotel. There is a limited room service menu and the hotel restaurant doesn't have many choices. However there are restaurants, cafes, bakeries and supermarkets that you can walk to. The Zoo and Tiergarten are within walking distance and well worth a visit. Leer más

Very friendly, and the physical plant continues to be upgraded and well maintained.

The room was perfectly fine, albeit somewhat boring. But the staff was very attentive and helpful. Short walk to bustling center of West Berlin, but the immediate neighborhood is a little less interesting. There are a lot of prostitutes in the neighborhood SE of the hotel, but the area doesn't feel unsafe. I was here for a conference and the services […] was outstanding. Leer más

The hotel lobby, bar, floor areas, outside bar area are lovely, extremely modern. The dining areas on the first morning were horrendous, tables piled up with the detritus of others breakfasts, food on the floor, loaded trays of dirty plates left on the food service area. It looked as though a bomb had hit it! We struggled to find four seats as the […] place was full of people at an exhibition. The cooked food in the servery was cold and having paid 21euros each we were more than upset. We didn't eat there again it was so offputting. Not enough staff evidently but having done a review in the hotel after breakfast and also the general review i am frankly annoyed not to have heard from them.
