The hotel has good standard and is just a few minutes away from the central station in Oslo, which makes it ideal for business trips with meetings in central Oslo. Great location, particularly for a first timer to Oslo. The hotel is right beside the central rail station so is easy to find. Breakfast buffet is good but gets busy. Rooms are small but functional and comfortable enough.

+ Perfect location. + Really good breakfast - No warm water around 10 pm two nights in a row.

Couldn't have been more convenient, just out the door of the train station and a few steps right on the plaza! Staff was pleasant and accommodating. A wonderful restaurant was available for the included breakfast and otherwise. Would definitely stay there again.

Location is very convenient to Oslo S station, but hotel does not deserve 4 star rating. Cheapy towels and sheets and tiny rooms and not stellar service compared to other Scandic chain hotels.

Needed 2 rooms for 5 people. The 3 person room was roomy but the 2 person room was tiny, but typical for European hotels. Bathroom was modern and even had some shelves - unusual for European hotels. Rooms were neat. Beds were comfortable. No safe in room. Pay extra for internet in room. Helpful front desk and across the plaza from a huge information […] center. Location is central and great place to set up camp. It's literally next door to the train station so all types of people walking around but that just made it interesting. I was never worried about safety. Police presence but they had nothing to do. Definitely get the breakfast option. Food is incredibly expensive in Norway. The breakfast buffet was all you can eat with great variety of eggs/meats, fruits breads, etc. Good place to start your day. We had a car and parked in a public lot 3 blocks away. Never noticed if they had a valet option but doubt it.. Good location , just 1 min. from the train station (Oslo S) , don't have to cross even a road. Very easy access to all kind of trams and buses. Good breakfast.

Great hotel to base out of to explore Oslo, or if you need to make an early train. Comfortable, and clean, and great breakfast.

Efficient and friendly staff, comfortable though very small room, extremely comfortable bed, excellent breakfast. Only complaints were no tea coffee making facilty in the room, although this was provided at no extra charge when I asked for it; and tiles fallen off in the bathroom. This is a great hotel for anyone planning to see Oslo. Everything is of high quality, especially the breakfast. Having stayed here a number of times, I can say that it is a bit on the pricey side, but you never worry about a bad experience.

Basic but comfortable and functional room including minibar, iron and ironing boad and hairdryer. Free wi-fi and free PCs in the lobby. The reception staff were all really friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet served in the Egon restaurant next door was huge - cereals, yogurts, fruit, cheeses, cold meats, boiled eggs, bacon, sausages, fried eggs, […] pancakes, pastries, breads, etc, etc. I was flying into Oslo late in the evening so it was convenient that this hotel is right next door to the main Oslo train station. However, this also led to a downside which was the number of drunks and drug addicts (or so it appeared) hanging about outside in the evenings. Leer más

The hotel was clean and convenient. I was traveling alone and felt secure and safe. It was located right by central station but you heard no normal city noise that you might expect and it was a fantastic location for jumping on public transport to any sight you might want to see. The staff were friendly and courteous.

Excellent location in the central station shopping complex, so great for arrivals from or going to the air port (using the airport train); easy walking to other points of interest in the downtown and close to city transport connections. Didnt find any signage in the station or the shopping mall to the hotel on my first visit, and impossible to guess […] its location so had to ask the mall information desk to find it. Good breakfast included in neighboring restaurant - eat well so you dont have to pay exborbidantly for lunch. Close to relatively cheaper eating spots (and it is relative in Norway!) This hotel was extremely convenient to public transportation and the central station. We arrived late, but they are open all night. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional and the food was excellent. This hotel, however, is located in a main courtyard in front of the central station and the central routes for busses and trams. It was […] also full of drug dealers and considerable drunken revelry till after 3 AM. Considering the location, this is probably to be expected, however it is a bit frightening to watch so much drug dealing and have no police intervention. Leer más

Great hotel and a great location. The only bad part is the entrance is buried in a small shopping center and very poorly marked and signed. We wondered around the block for 15 or 20 minutes until we finally saw the tiny entrance sign.

Nice hotal and the price was good for Oslo in summer. On top of the central train station so great place to stay if you are going in and out of Oslo by train. Also right near the city center. Room was good for Europe. What you would consider a 3 star in the US. Nice and clean but not fancy. We had a family room. It was a twin bed a nd 2 cots.

Located immediately outside trainstation - which in some ways is very nice - but whoa!!!!... I have NEVER seen a more depressed area of massive drug dealing going on in the train station square. My son and I would have dinner on second floor of hotel and watch the show - waitress told us it goes on EVERY DAY - and typically the police make 5 or 6 arrest […] per day - pretty depressing - as for the hotel.. staff was friendly...but the price was extremely over-priced for this cheap quality hotel. If you want central location... this is not a bad place.. .but it is the only positive feature I can rate... you would better off staying in same general location but different hotel. Leer más

Had a great stay at the Scandic Byporten. The front desk staff were extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good and the location is right in the train station. It is the center of town, so there are some homeless, etc around the building at night, but had no issues or anything I would consider unexpected given the location. Convenient location in Oslo S Station. Ideal for arrival by Airport Express.

The room was what you would expect size wise. It was very clean with a lovely cubicle shower and heated floors. In terms of the price i would suggest it was about average. I stayed with the girl friend and spent two days there which is more than enough to explore oslo.

Great location directly outside Central Station and a short walk to City Centre. Buses, trams and taxis are also just outside the door. The complimentary breakfast at Egon restaurant was very good with lots of options, including fresh fruit and veggies. Front desk service was excellent and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

Soooo convenient. Express train from airport takes you straight to Central Station and this hotel is right there -- 30 yards away. Outstanding breakfast, great location, etc. etc. Excellent all round.

Great location, amazing breakfast, really clean room, very quiet. It couldn't have been better! And, right around the corner was a great Lebaese restaurant with a great cafe or take-away (Habibi Cafe, I believe). Highly recommended.

I stayed two nights in this hotel and chose it because of its location in the same building as Oslo Central Station. Would arrive in Oslo late at night from the airport and would also have to leave Oslo by train, so the convenience of using a hotel in the station was hard to beat. Friendly service and great breakfast. Only problem was that my room reeked […] of old cigarette smoke. Remember to request a non-smoking room if this might be an issue. Also, don't use the minibar or in-room snacks unless you feel like getting robbed. A final word of advice: Don't use the "Please clean my room"-sign outside the door. The cleaners are dim-witted and assume that it is your "Please do not disturb"-sign, which means that you won't get your room cleaned. Leer más

Et rimelig familievennlig hotell med bra standard, som ligger midt i hovedstaden. Når man er trøtt etter en lang reise og ankommer Oslo S, er det bare noen få meter til et komfertabelt og flott hotell. Fra Hotellet er da veien kort til alle Oslo's serverdigheter. Fra vinuet vårt i 4 etg kunne vi f.eks se rett på Operahuset. Det at det var lørdagskveld […] og fullt natteliv ute i gatene var ikke noe som vi ble forstyrret av. Selv bodde vi her i forbindelse av at vi skulle se Disey on Ice, og siden Oslo Spektrum kun er en liten spasertur unna, synes vi dette var supert. Vi vi anbefale dette hotellet til alle, spesielt barnefamilier som vil bo i hjertet av Oslo. Leer más

Bestilte superior rom, men det var et handicap rom. vannet i dysjen ble aldri varmt, og det var tomt for dusjsåpe/shampoo i behiolderen. På vei ut ga vi beskjed om dette, og da vi kom tilbake var det riktignok såpe i beholderen, men mange skitne skoavtrykk i dysjen. Ellers var ikke badet så veldig rent, manglet poser i alle boss.

flott hotell, med fantastisk beligenhet, service å god frukost :) jeg reiste alene me barn og det va Kjempe praktisk me tanke på beligenhet i forhold til serverdigheter og togstasjon rett ved :) ingen ting å utsette på hotellet, det som fratrekker litt er at det var ikke puter i sengen ved ankomst :O å måtte purre 2 ganger før vi fikk levert puter på […] døren. trykket i dusjen og ved avtrekk i toalettet var SVÆRT svakt å dårlig! må virkeli gjøres noe med! men alt i alt et KJekt hotell som jeg Anbefaler :D Leer más

Ba om rom over Egon men fikk førest rom så langt unne det som mulig som var "rigget" som enkeltrom med 1 håndduk ett teppe mm, fikk deretter byttet rom av ei meget hyggelig svensk dame i resepsjon. På dt "nye" rommet var det ei stor tyggegummiklyse i vinduet fra badet inn til rommet. Har bildet av dette dersom det skulle være av intresse. Beliggenheten til dette hotellet er riktignok forlokkende. Har man for øvrig planer om å sove om natten er dette et dårlig valg. Her trampes det i parkettgulv både over og ved siden av med stillettheler døgnet rundt. I tillegg ropes og skravles det i korridorene til alle døgnets tider. Ingen av disse tingene hadde gjort noe om ikke gulv, vegger, dører […] og tak var laget av papp. Leer más

Flott tur, og hotellet var med på dette. Nærmere sentrum kan man ikke komme. For hotellet var sentrum. T-bane var bare 20 meter unna. Shopping 5 meter. Gangavstand til alle severdigheter. Hadde med 2 gutter, 10-12år. Tror de sitter igjen med samme inntrykk. Frokosten var helt perfekt selv om vi kom noe seint. Takk for meg.

Godt hotel som jeg dog ikke vil bruge igen på grund af den vanvittigt høje pris for Parkering

For å være sentrumsnært og mye støy, så hører du ikke mye til det, og de er veldig bra!! Jeg har vært her mye nå og har prøvd noen andre steder, men dette hotellet slår de andre, og det er en meget god frokost på Egon. Det eneste er at stabiliteten på internettilgangen, den er veldig dårlig, og for meg som jobber med det, så er det nokså negativt.

Fräscht hotell med bra frukost och trevlig personal. Nära till allt och precis vid centralstationen.

Fin beliggenhet i forhold til kurs/konferanser i sentrum for meg som gjerne kommer med tog. Bra frokost på Egon. Rengjøring av rommet var under pari - hadde nok ikke sett vann på lenge, synlige ekle flekker.
