This hotel deserves a 4 to 5 star rating. Its actual rating is lower than that because one person gave it a 1 due to his having experienced a theft. That could happen anywhere. For value, I highly recommend this hotel, and will definitely stay there on my next visit to Cancun. I would rather spend my money on a fancy dinner than a room that has more than what I need. The problem someone mentioned with his key card occurred because the hotel frequently changes the codes for the key cards. They do that for security reasons. Simply inform the front desk when you leave for the day that you will be returning in the evening, and the code for your room will remain the same. The concierge was English-speaking and was eager to help us. I thought our room (in the back) was unusually quiet. I admit that I am very fussy about noise, so I was very impressed with this hotel. I never heard a sound after getting into bed, and I stayed there for a week. Many tourists who pay five times as much for their rooms on the busy boulevard will simply not have as quiet a night's stay as I had every night at the Holiday Inn Express. The included buffet breakfast was more than adequate, and had a lot of choices. This hotel is not a resort. and if that is what you are looking for, don't stay here. Instead, it is a clean, comfortable and quiet place to spend the night at an unbeatable price. If that is what you want, then stay here and you will not be disappointed.

We needed an extra night for an early arrival in Cancun before we moved to our regular resort. This was a great deal and exceeded our expectations. I would not book this for an extended stay because the rooms are pretty small and the neighborhood is not attractive. If Cancun ever decides to develop this little island's potential - clean it up and add some eccletic charm - I might reconsider. I would definately book again if we need an extra night or two.

this hotel is a little out of the way, expect to walk about 10 min to get to the bus stop. The facility is well maintained and clean and the breakfast buffet is great. AC keeps the rooms very cool.. not a spring break hotel so if you are looking for a big party scene go elsewhere

We were traveling with 2 small children and were very happy with what we received. The room ws clean, the people friendly, the pool area was amazingly well kept and beautiful. The COMPLIMENTARY breakfast was really good, too. The breakfast staff helped get high-chairs and cleaned up after us. For the price and the closeness to the zona hotelera it was a grat deal

The hotel was having trouble with the card keys so we walked a long way to our room, after a long day of flying, only to find we couldn't get in. A trip back to the desk and they sent someone to help us get in the room. We stepped out for dinner, there isn't really a place close by, and we were able to get in to our room with no problem.

I stayed on the first floor and the back door would open by itself when the front door was opened. When I checked in, I didn't notice the sign on the back door that said we should use the chain. That night we went out to dinner. After returning, I was surprised to find the back door would just open on its own . I put the chain place. The next morning I found that my travel cash was missing from the bag placed by the back door. When I complained, I was told I should have used the hotel safe. I was never offered a safe and I was never warned about the back door. I later found out I was suppose to file a police report.

Nice internal area. Need to improve the showers.

The Holiday Inn Express met our price to quality expectations, especially since it included breakfast. We had a car, but if one does not, it is a little far from the bus route that goes down to all the action. The rooms were large and well lit. Parking was secure.

Rooms could have been cleaner. I did like the buffet breakfast which was included in the price. Food was good, varied, and fresh each day. Staff was helpful and were mostly English speaking ( to some degree). This hotel is off the beaten path, which I enjoyed. Quiet and restful, but a bit of a walk to the bus stop. The grounds were well kept and the pool was beautiful. Beach was at an associated hotel, but free transportation twice daily made it readily accessible. I think this hotel was good value for the money.
