The hotel was right on the monorail line, with a 5 minute ride to Darling Harbour, and also within easy access of the train line as well. We ate in the dining room one night and although it was expensive, as we expected it would be, the service was impeccable and the food really delicious. We ate breakfasts at a little place right next door to the hotel. […] There are lots of convenience stores nearby and many places to eat, most of them oriental. We took two tours arranged by the hotel and were picked up from the hotel and delivered back there at the end of the day. We were too tired to take a cab out of the area, as the only complaint I would have is most of the restaurants in the area cater to Orientals. The one place nearby which serves pizza and North American style food was packed when we wanted to eat there. It was easy walking to shopping, with a good souvenir shop right across from the hotel. Location is great (<10mins walk to qvb & chinatown) and price reasonable. Front desk and concierge staff were friendly & helpful. Our room was good-sized, comfortable without being luxurious, most important the king bed was great. Bathroom is clean but jaded and small, fortunately water pressure was good. Housekeeping is dicey, they kept forgetting […] to replenish stuff like towels, coffee etc. On our last night we found a cockroach in the bathroom. I liked the room I stayed in, but the only disappointment was the valet parking when checking in, as there was only one person valet parking. Trying to find a park on busy Pitt Street while waiting for someone to park the car was terrible, as there are no set down area for cars. It was also badly organised when trying to check out and get your car out […] of the park by the valet staff because there was only 1 or 2 guys doing it. After a 14-hour flight from Los Angeles and three hours to get from the airport to the hotel, we were exhausted. We arrived hours before normal check-in time, and the staff went out of their way to get a room ready early and had our bags held by the concierge. While we waited, we went to the hotel restaurant. The hostess welcomed us warmly and inquired […] about our travels. After hearing our tale of the long flight and airport transportation issues, she said she wanted our first day in Australia to be a good experience and she "comped" our breakfast! It was almost embarrassing, but it was the first of countless examples of the good nature of our Australian hosts everywhere we went. The folks who staff the concierge desk at the Rydges were incredibly helpful, professional, and friendly. We would definitely stay there again should we be so lucky as to go back to Australia! The staf was very friendly, helpful and courteous. I would definetily stay here again.

We asked for a quiet room and were given one on the 19th floor. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in - these even an option to select different pillows. The room was clean and furnished with quality fittings. The hotel is very conveniently located - it's an easy walk to all the main sights and everything in the CBD, and close to […] Darling Harbour and the markets. The only downside is that the room is not well lit and we did get some noise from the corridor and neighouring room but the hotel did not seem busy so we weren't disturbed all that much. The hotel seems to be located in the middle of the Asian area of Sydney and is surrounded by mostly Asian businesses and eating places but a 15min walk towards the CBD or Darling HArbour provides plenty of other choice. These comments are based on a 5 night stay on the top floor executive level. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. All service staff were polite and enthusiastic. The worst aspect of the stay was room service food arriving cool or cold, unfortunate given the food at the in-house Sphere Restaurant (rib eye on the bone with sides of broccolini and […] kipfler potatoes) was enjoyable and piping hot with a surprising good wine selection (the Yering Station Pinot Noir is delicious). The Executive Lounge fare was cleared away before the appointed close, which could be percieved as a oittle rude. The TV remote was temperamental. Tourists may find a location closer to the harbour more inspiring. The room cost was greatly discounted through hotels.com - the full price would probbaly not be good value for money when alternative hotels with harbour views are available. Leer más

We were very happy with the amenities and service of the hotel, also the friendliness of the staff, we also joined the priority club for further accommodation offers. We were however extremely disappointed to receive a letter a few days after leaving that we had purchased 5 items from the mini-bar, although we weren't charged on the credit card before […] the chance to contact them, we were very annoyed at the implication that we had taken things and did not pay for them, we did not so much have a cup of coffee let alone use anything at all from the mini-bar. The manager phoned back to say there was an error! Yes we knew there was an error after this we are now unsure how eager we are to use this establishment again. Rydges can be a bit hit and miss; this one was quite good. It is a shame that we discovered a pair of black underpants in one corner of our room that stayed there the entire period of our stay - and probably are still there - and that the attractive curtains were brought down by some obvious stains. Rydges World Square's location suits our needs for proximity to the Sydney CBD to conduct business, covenience of being in walking distance to a vast range of quality shops and restaurants, and very competetive prices for accomodation. The staff have always been friendly and […] attentive without being intrusive or condescending and it is this level of customer servce that puts Rydges World Square ahead of some of its rivals. The rooms are starting to show some signs of 'wear and tear' however the cleanliness, comfort of the rooms and facilities offered represent excellent value for money. I have stayed in many hotels around Australia and overseas and believe the comfort, convenience and reasonable pricing offered by Rydges World Square make it a 'first choice' place to stay when in Sydney. Arriving from the airport by train, we found the hotel easily. Check in was straight forward and we were quickly on our way to our very spacious room on the tenth floor which overlooked the internal courtyard. Exploring the city was a breeze with trains, buses and monorail all very close. Circular Quay was a long but pleasant walk but also accessible […] by monorail. The best thing about the hotel is that it is centrally located to a number of attractions including Darling Harbour, Chinatown and Central Rail Station. It is also in close proximity to Circular Quay where the nearby Opera House and Harbour Bridge are situated. The room itself was clean and tidy with the normal amenities of a 4 1/2 star hotel. Great experience with the hotel after an horrific start to the holiday when the car broke down at Tenterfield on the way to Canberra to deliver it to nephew at Duntroon. It appeared that we would lose all our money on hotel accom. at Rydges Canberra and Rydges Sydney but after the car was fixed we drove 14hours to Canberra arriving at 2.30a.m. and leaving […] at 9.00am. Needless to say we were exhausted when we arrived in Sydney after the flight from Canberra. Enjoyed the Thai head, neck and shoulder massage at the hotel and slept very soundly. The hotel is located at the heart of the city centre. Convenient to travel to the main attractions around the city. In fact, many of them are within the reasonable walking distance. Clean room and comfy bed. Air-conditioning is good. But there is no shower for the bath tub so it is quite difficult to help the young children to take shower.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We parked the car and walked everywhere from Darling Harbour to Kings Cross. The location was fabulous and the rates were economical. The buffet breakfast was delicious and varied. All round excellent experience.

The Hotel is conveniently located downtown in the middle of 10,000 cafes and baristas. Monorail stops right next to the hotel and will take you right by the Opal Market..well advertised everywhere..and do like me and by your honey some opals. Walk about 5 blocks to a view of the bridge and opera house. Only complaint is the 35$ mandatory parking, but […] since they dont expect tips, and will get your car 10 times a day if you need it, then what am I complaining about. Would definately stay again. Perfect location for exploring Sydney! Loads of restaurants at our doorstep. Our room was, surprisingly, very quiet. Service exceptional . Thoroughly enjoyed the privileges of the executive suite. A very positive experience and already recommended Rydges to our family and friends.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sydney Rydges. Upon arriving, our flight was late and we were given a smoking room that was absolutely not what we had purchased, as we can't stand the lingereing smell of smoking. They must have given away our room which was highly frustrating but instead gave us a double non-smoking saying they were full. We were […] not happy about this as it was midnight and this process took an hour, plus they just stuck us in the smoking room as if we wouldn't notice. We had chosen this hotel because of the room (king non-smoking) for the price. The manager did his best to try to appease the situation and was very nice - after awhile we had a non-smoking room and then the next day were moved to a king non-smoking as planned. Although this process was somewhat annoying, the manager really tried his best to make it right. After settling into the correct room the next morning, the stay was much better - great hotel staff, extremely clean, and we loved the location. Excellent food right in Chinatown neighborhood, a lively scene at night, walking distance to Darling Harbour and the Park, and a 2 stop train ride to Circular Quay. For the price between what you pay to be in the Rocks or Circular Quay vs here, we'd definitely stay here again as it was very central. Great position. Taxi got us there from airport with no problems. Shuttle buses we used for various events picked us up with no problems. Please note there are two entries so if getting a bus for a tour etc might help to check which entry is best. Mostly the operators check both lobbies anyway as they are next to each other. Rooms are clean but nothing flash. Our view was of the wall next door. Some have views of the mall behind it. No idea what the street view is like. Bathrooms are a great size and clean. Each floor is fairly large so a little bit of walking from lifts might be needed. Housekeeping starts early! As in knocking on door at 5:45am! So do not forget to use 'Please do not Disturb' sign and lock door if you do not want them to enter to service your room. A complaint was made and they were very apologetic and promised to follow this up so hopefully it will not happen again. Great position to cafes, shopping, pubs on every corner, monorail just around the corner, Paddys Markets was about a 5 block walk away. Overall I would stay there again happily. Leer más

The Rydges Hotel - World Square - Sydney. My daughter and I found the Hotel to be in a great location and easy to get to all the places we wanted to go. The Hotel was very clean and the rooms were of a satisfying size. The staff seemed very pleasant and helpful during our 4 day stay. What a wonderful hotel and staff. We had the comforts of home and what a very clean room and bathroom we had!! The conceirge were the best. Very helpful and the location of the hotel was perfect. I could walk or take the train anywhere. Very fun location. Close to everything like the Darling Harbour and Chinatown and a grocery store. Very good location and really nice room. The only complaint is that there wasn't some of the normal things you would expect in a room. THere were no bathroom slippers, no bathrobe, no toothbrushes. just soap and shampoo. You can request for them but it really should be standard. Overall, Rydges room was alright in size. Soundproofing was ok. We booked a King Room with Hotels.com. We are husband and wife plus 2 kids. At check in, I asked if 2 double beds would be better for us. The people at reception were unfriendly and cold--told us it would be addl aud20 a night. Then we asked if we decide to go overnight at Jenolan Caves, […] can we cancel the 3rd or 4th night stay at hotel, they curtly said, without smiling, that we have to talk with our agent. Concierge was always helpful with information on how to go around town. But we were not content with housekeeping. Everyday for 5 nights we would go back with a little trash still strewn around, our toiletries etc still as we left it, our sugar and coffee packets not replenished. These little things are petty in nature but matter to us guests who come home at night tired and just want to relax--and not go around cleaning up or finding things that are not there. Room airconditioning not enough also--esp on the side of the bathroom. We found it hot, have to put sheet s down. Location was good enough. But not really satisfied with staff and room cleanliness and airconditioning. Leer más

The hotel was ok, but missed a lot of the finer points that make a hotel nice. The bathroom in my room had a bit of an odor to it as did the fitness center. Many things around the hotel from carpeting to elevator buttons just seemed a bit worn and in need of replacement.
