I could not believe how well preserved this old motel was. The rooms and even the parking lot were spotless. Vert clean and well maintained. This is not your new cookie cutter hotel, it has some character. Would stay again. Great location and price as well!

Our room was clean, and neat, although one of the pillows smelled slightly of cigarette smoke (we were in a non-smoking room. There are a couple of nice restaurants within walking distance. You could hear cars driving by on the street all night, hear people in the next room doing who knows what and people outside the door talking and unfortunately smoking. […] With ash trays on the walkway between every few rooms having a non-smoking room isn't a reality. The Inn advertises that free WiFi is available. However, service is poor to nonexistent at times. Also, the mattress in my room, while clean, needed an upgrade. It was fine for one person, but two would have had trouble sleeping.

I was a little put off at first because it was a motel, not hotel and I have serious reservations about motels being a single female. I asked to see a room, which was extremely clean and very big. It was a very comfortable stay.

We have always chosen the Safari Inn when we've wanted to put up visiting relatives who we can't accommodate in our small Burbank house. The Safari Inn is clean, reasonably priced and close to where we live. Sure, the place is looking a little frayed around the edges from its many years of excellent service, but the overall impression is still that […] of a well-run, no-frills establishment. However, this time around my guests had terrible problems with electronic keys and locks that refused to open when they returned to the rooms late at night. I've stayed in hotels all over the world, from 5-star to fallen star, and I've never experienced so much trouble night after night just trying to open the blasted door. The managers were always very accommodating when we needed help, but we shouldn't have had to bother them so often. There were excuses: we must have compromised the magnetic strip when they rubbed up against electronics we were carrying, somebody inside must have put the deadbolt in place or we just weren't putting the key in at the right angle. Hogwash. By the third night our key handling prowess was the envy of international spies, high society jewel thieves and professional cat burglars... and we still couldn't get in. My key recommendation to this hotel is as follows. Get a new key and lock system or The Safari Inn may very well be locked out of our consideration the next time our relatives come to call. Leer más

We stayed for Christmas Eve to be near family just a mile away. Check-in attendant was very nice and polite but Check-out attendant was very brusk, and not friendly at all. The level of the hotel is about the same as a Motel 6 but a bit pricier, I suppose because of the convenient location to Universal Studios. Would stay here again for other family […] occaisions since all we did there was sleep there and it is clean. Note Hotels.com had a special discounted rate and we booked 3 hours before we arrived. If you are looking for an affordable, eclectic, historic landmark, the Safari Inn is perfect. Conveniently located to all of the studios. The money we saved went toward an amazing night out on the town. The staff was very nice and accommodating.

The rooms are spacious and especially clean. The most clean rooms I've seen for this price range. Sadly some amenities like a microwave are missing but again, a place where I felt save and comfortable. One thing I would complain is the TV quality which was sometime not ok. But hey, there are so many interesting places out there, go and watch them.

Everything was good, enjoyed my stay.

The hotel is an older style 2 floor building where the rooms face outside. My room was very spacious with a king bed and surprised to see a full kitchen. Perfect for families who are there for site seeing. It's also 5 minutes from the airport which is very cool. The Internet was blazing fast 5 down 2 up. Very good for hotel Internet. Great location, near resaurants and a CVS. Hotel staff was pleasant and accomodating. Room was spacious w/ refrigerator. The only thing missing was a microwave. Would definitely reccomend this hotel to friends- the price is right!

The Safari Inn is a typical motel with the exception of it's very nice swimming pool. The rooms are so so but the location is good for most attractions in Burbank and surrounding area. There is no continental breakfast but coffee and coffeemaker are provided in room. HOWEVER, it tastes like turpentine...AWFUL. We stayed here 3 yrs. ago and the coffee […] is still the same... terrible! Price is pretty good, but I recommend spending just a little more and staying at the Portofino Inn just a few blocks from the Safari..nicer rooms, good continental breakfast, and GREAT coffee...unless swimming is important to you...then stay at the Safari Inn. This was our second stay at this property. We were there to see the sights of LA and the surrounding area. However, we did NOT want an expensive room because we would only use it for sleeping. This hotel was what we were looking for! It was clean, affordable, near the major highways. This was especially nice for me because the hotel/room was wheelchair […] accessible! when you first look at the Safari you might not be impressed but we found it clean and comfortable. The restaurant next door was busy but good, and the front desk called to keep it open later than normal. Very close to the Burbank airport, 15 min. away from downtown LA, and Hollywood. We would stay here again.

The best deal for the price you pay, but don;t expect too much from it. Didn't have a microwave in the room. and there was a sock in the corner left by a previous guest. Also there was a huge pile of crumbs and trash under a bed. Besides that, good location to spend the night and move on with your life. I miss the Continental Breakfast that they used to serve. The employees are nice and very helpful. It's conveniently located to shopping and the WB and NBC studios.

I went to the hotel early to make sure that everything was okay with my check-in. I had to leave the hotel since they could only take a cash deposit. After waiting for 20 minutes and be patient, I go up to my room, and it isn't the room I booked. I go down to the lobby and they told me my room was booked and they gave me another without alerting me. […] They offered me the room I requested, but in a smoking room. Biggest waste of money and time EVER! I will NEVER return there again. There are plenty of better hotels in the area. Don't waist you time at the Safari Inn. Leer más

Hotel was clean and friendly, overlooks a main road , the pool is suitable for famlies with young children, but not for relaxing by. There is an upper level with a few chairs and loungers, but this overlooks the main road. The hotel is handy for universal, but if booking in future I would stay at the Annabel next door. The restaurant serves both hotels […] the olive? I think and this is outstanding in terms of quality and affordability. Personally being a more mature couple (Late 40's) we would stay in Pasendena where you can get a four star hotel for less money and drive the extra 15 miles to Universal Studios. Leer más

Very courteous and helpful staff. Room was clean and everything worked. Very easy to get to local attractions i.e. Warner Bros., Universal Studios, Hollywood Bowl, Hollywood Blvd. Neighborhood seemed safe enough for us to take a walk to local stores. The only negative we encountered was that the parking was impossible when we arrived after 7:00 PM. […] When we went out sightseeing in the evening we came back to a full parking lot. Leer más

You get what you pay for here. The gentleman that checked us in was far from the most friendly person, never looked me in the eye. The room was not that bad, but bring your own pillows as theirs is very FLAT. Low flow water fixtures every where.

Very outdated. Needs updating and thorough cleaning. Carpets were dirty, linens and towels were very thin. Would not stay here again.

STAFF HAD NO INFORMATION ABOUT MOST OF OUR QUERIES, IT WAS NOT AT ALL WORTH THE MONEY WE PAID FOR ,WE COULD GET BETTER PLACE AND BETTER LOCATION.

Stayed here for one night in June '11. This is a nice little motel in a great location that is close to everything. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. I would recommend this motel to others.

Please bring back the free morning Coffee and Pastries. It"s your signature for the place.

I had a pleasant experience during my stay at Safari Inn. The neighborhood is safe, I never had problem with parking, the rooms were clean and in good shape, staff were polite and helpful. If you are planning to stay here during your trip to LA, I recommend this place.

The room needs to be completly refurbished. Everythiing was old and not cleaned very well. There was dust and crumbs around the edges of the carpet that had not been vacuumed in ages. The furniture was dirty. Had to clean the night stand mysel because it had spilled stains on it.

Very nice people and the room was adequite, clean and pet friendly. We stayed 2 days prior to this reservation and 5 days after so we were there a good deal of time. No problems it made it easy for us to transfer from our sold home to an interstate move. I recommend it highly -baker-price

I had previously had good stays at the Safari, however, this time I was given a room upstairs that did not have Wi-fi access or the sundry items usually available (conditioning shampoo, bath gel, lotion - in dispensers). All the front desk had were a few bottles of old shampoo and bar soap. The only response I could get from the staff when I told them […] of the deficiencies was, "Oh......" Some raucous young people were being very loud in the pool and parking lot, but the staff did nothing to quiet them. The blankets always have holes in them, and the sheets can be almost threadbare. could have stayed at a more expensive place. Could have stayed elsewhere cheaper. For the price, the place was very adequate. Bed was comfortable. Relatively quiet. In-room mini fridge came in handy. One issue I had was lack of parking. I know it's L.A. I should be grateful for a parking spot within 3 miles. It was just mildy irritating to have to circle […] the lot a couple times and then park at the sister property next door. I would stay here again. Leer más

One of the few places to stay in the area that accepts pets. Nice, apparently safe, older neighborhood; I felt very comfortable walking the blocks around the motel with my dog. Lot's of restaurants and fast food within 1/2 mile radius.

This was a good stay. Hotel was clean, room comfortable. While room was on 2nd floor (with outside entrance), they actually had an elevator, so getting bags to room was not bad. Employees were helpful with questions about the area, directions, etc. Location was close to Burbank and other tourist sites we were interested in.
