Hotel céntrico muy cerca de la biblioteca nacional y de Times Square. El hotel no está mal, el servicio del hotel es bastante amable y facilitan bastante las cosas. el servicio de limpieza muy simpático y educado. el día de salida, por la tarde cuando ya había dejado la habitación, me dejaron toallas, jabón y una habitación para poder arreglarme y ducharme. El hotel esta muy bien ubicado, cerca de Times Square, Broadway, Central Park....Las habitaciones son comodas, con bano compartido (son 3 banos por piso, mas o menos 10 habitaciones por piso). El precio es accesible. La atencion de los empleados es buena, fueron muy amables. Inconvenientes: al llegar tuvimos que esperar 2 horas para ingresar a la habitacion […] porque desde hoteles.com no habian enviado el fax con el pago....pedimos habitacion no fumador y las sabanas estaban impregnadas de olor a tabaco... en 2 de los 3 banos de nuestro piso el agua de la ducha salia fria en pleno invierno...en fin, NYC es para pasear, la ubicacion esta excelente y al hotel solo vas a dormir. LAS HABITACIONES NO TIENEN BAÑO, LAS CAMAS NO SON BUENAS, Y CON RESPECTO AL PRECIO SE CONSIGUEN HOTELES MUY BUENOS Y MEJOR UBICADOS CERCA A TIME SQUARE, NO RECOMIENDO ESTE HOTEL, PARA MI ESTE HOTEL ES (-1 ESTRELLA).

El hotel está ubicado en una posición inmejorable para qu ienes tienen un presupuesto ajustado y tienen poco tiempo para recorrer. Está a pocas cuadras de Grand Central y Times Square, donde están las principales líneas de metro hacia todas partes y los bus turísticos. Here is the deal. This place is NOT for family. You get a small room with a TV, bed, and a sink. If you want to use the bathroom there are 5 bathrooms (1 sink, toilet, shower) on each floor. You have to share these. Your rooms do lock and they're secure. I'd say if you're in NYC on business or you and a friend just looking for a place to put your crap […] while you see the city this place is amazing. But, it's not anything to write home about... It's like a 5 minute walk to Time Square. So really you can't complain. If you're looking for a 5 star be ready to pay. but me being a single dude I'd stay here again... But, if I had a chick with me I'd spring the cash for an actual bathroom because I'm a gentleman like that.... Leer más

I needed a room for the night and I needed a local room near my travel and this was just what I needed. the room was just the basics but that was what I needed. It was in walking distance all of the places I needed or wanted. the room itself was comfortable and clean. I had no complaints or recommendations. What I paid in NYC I expected. Location, neighbourhood, maintainance, comfort and cleanliness was good. Only One drawback is the use of common restrooms. Single guys can adjust with this facility but not family members. This hotel is close to Times Square. There is a great deli across the street for early morning and late night hunger. The rooms are extremely small but who stays in their room while in the city. I would stay here again.

I liked the general condition of the hotel. Its centrally located, clean and fairly compares well with NYC downtown hotels. Its a good place to be especially for those wishing to visit offices in the City

Though it took time to get hot water from shower, the bed was big enogh for comfortable sleep. It wouldve been better if there was a coffee maker in the room. Nice staff, good location, definitely worth money. I would come back again. Thanx a lot, Americana Inn!

The Americana couldn't be in a better location to see Times Square, Broadway, Herald Square, Bryant Park/Fashion District. The rooms are small, but clean and comfy. The bathroom is shared (so your towel, soap, TP, etc. is located in a nice basket in your room), but is also very clean. I would describe the Americana as staying in an incredibly posh hostel […] with all private rooms. The linens were hotel quality--you just have to share a bathroom, which is also hotel quality. The front desk staff were all very kind and helpful. You can check your bag in early, or leave it behind if you check out before you actually leave NYC. If your looking for an inexpensive place to stay in Manhattan and you don't mind a small room, this is your place. Like everyone says, there is no bathroom in the room and the room is pretty small, but the hotel is within walking distance of many major attractions. This is really a bargain-basement place, though it's not nearly as cheap as it should have been. My room was closet-sized. Just enough space to set a bag down at the foot of the twin bed and to walk around the sink. No table or desk or chair to set up a laptop. The worst thing, for me, was that there wasn't even a lamp over the bed or beside the bed. […] I wanted to read for a while before I went to sleep, but the only light was the main overhead light and the switch for that lay on the opposite side of the room. If you are looking to save money by staying here, vice any other hotels that may run at twice the cost, then here is my recommendation: wait for another payday. Nevertheless, my room was adequate for my purposes: it had a bed, a sink, and was three minutes away from my 48-hour training course location. My room had a dirty linoleum floor--unknowable hairs, lint, trash, etc.--a small leak in the ceiling, stained pillowcases, and an entryway that required me to turn my body in order to fit through... and I am a slender six-foot, three-inch, 190-lbs. Very small but very clean room, adequate closet space. Shared bathroom was clean as well. Heard some street noise and a swell the neighbors in room.

I stayed two nights here. I usually stay in Hilton properties but this was a personal trip where I was already spending a lot of money so decided to give it a go. It IS a two star property. An important aspect, such as SHARED BATHROOM should strike you when you are booking an hostel. At least other establishment with shared bathrooms are decent enough to call themselves hostels, so basically, you need to know that when you are booking this hotel, you are booking a room at the size of a Queen bed, a queen bed, and a sink. Not to mention […] that we couldn't get into our bed, because the sheets were yellow, and it was 4am in the morning so we didn't bother to call the desk, we just slept on the comforter. i didn't realize there were no bathrooms in the rooms- bathrooms are in the hallways. there are sinks in the rooms. the rooms are pretty clean but pretty small. it's good and convenient if you get a good price. the area seems safe and well located - really near bryant park, which is awesome- and pretty near the subway. it's fine if you're looking for […] something decent and inexpensive, which is pretty hard to find in NYC. but i wouldn't recommend spending too much time in the hotel room- it's not the most pleasant relaxing atmosphere. this place is for people who want to venture around and spend the days out doing things. THE ROOMS DOESN'T HAVE BATHROOM INSIDE THE ROOM, YOU NEED TO SHARE THE BATH WITH AT LEAST OTHER 15 ROOMS, DISGUSTING

In short, this hotel is not for everyone. If you want luxery or have children traveling with you, this isn't the best place to stay. If you don't mind hall bathrooms (which were clean/beautiful/available) then this is the place for you. The bathrooms don't have stalls like in a dorm, they are single occupant bathrooms like you would find in someones […] home. The rooms themselves are tiny, but that's fine. They have a tv and vanity with sink which is great for just washing up. The windows were not sealed very well, so the noise from the street traffic is quite loud, so if this bothers you, it might be something to consider. That fact is all you need to know. I run a lean startup and wanted to save money. I figured I could handle anything, but I couldn't take the fact that it had a shared bathroom/shower. The location is great, and the room was clean enough, I guess. The bathrrom thing threw me.

Definitely not worth the money for this room. Location was pretty good but the room was extremely small and the bathrooms were in the hallway, therefore being shared with other guests. Would gladly pay the same amount, if not more to stay in an ACTUAL hotel room... with a private bathroom. Also, there was no parking provided.

Well located. O.k. for one night, since it was very noisy. Ask explicitly for non smokers room! I cought a very bad smelling room.

There are no bathrooms in your room, so you have to go share a hall bathroom & shower with others on you hall. I wil never stay there again, and the bathroom situation should have been stated upfront.

I would not recommend this hotel, as the condition and age of the hotel is outdated. They charge top dollar and you don't even get your own bathroom....The bathroom is in the hallway and not very clean. The elevator smelled and thank God I was only there one night!

A good location overall. The rooms are small with no desk, and the bathroom is outside of the individual hotel room and is shared with others. The room had a great flat screen TV and comfortable bed. For convenience and an inexpensive stay for one person, it is fine!

No better location in all of NYC. For you critics out there, if you look at the Americana’s website before you book, you will have absolutely no reason to complain. The descriptions and pictures of the exterior, lobby, and guest rooms are totally accurate. What you see is what you will get. I stayed there for seven nights and the accommodations did […] not bother me at all. I would not compare my single-bed room to a jail cell or even a college dorm, as some have done. To me, it was more like staying in a large travel trailer, which I have done on occasion for several years, and continue to do. My room was very clean; the bathrooms were spotless. My room had a fresh coat of paint. They painted the wooden furniture in the lobby and the trim on the exterior door while I was there. Noise? I was in the back, inside-corner on the fifth floor. I slept without the A/C on the first night, and yes, I was awakened once by sirens. I ran the A/C the remaining nights and no sounds bothered me at all. You can’t get away from sirens in NYC— I heard them while on the 86th floor Observation Deck of the Empire State Building. SO—Save the money you would spend on a room at the Ritz Carlton for seeing the sights, taking tours, etc. But hey—Some of you would probably find something to criticize at the Ritz! Leer más

My stay at this hotel was a nightmare. Shared bathrooms, no hair dryers, one iron for the whole hotel, no ironing board. The hotel had window air conditioning units so it was like sleeping in Manhattan with the windows open. Horribly loud. Don't stay here!

You should not call something a hotel when the bathroom is not in the room and where you have to walk sideways to get between the wall and the bed.

Pathetic. I can't believe I spent that much money of this poor of an experience.

The room is really really small...but very clean. You have to share bathrooms with other people living on the same floor; but you will always find a bathroom available. One thing I don't like is that my room faces the street, and it is super noisy outside at night with many cars passing around. Barely slept for the first night. The second night I used […] ear plugs and finally fell asleep. Great location, and low price. If you are a sound sleeper, you won't have any problems. There was a roach on our floor and the housekeeping walked into our room at least twice per day.

Don't expect anything fancy - this is a hostel, not a hotel. My room was clean and the bathrooms were also very clean. The staff were friendly.
