Royal Plaza Hotel

Este es un hotel muy bonito, con pisos de marmol por todos lados. El servicio del hotel es bueno, aunque el inglés se les dificulta hacen lo posible por ayudar y entender. El centro comercial que está a un lado comunicado tiene una estacion de metro que te lleva a todo Honk Kong. Definitivamente muy recomendable.

My aunt and I checked in at different timings on the same day, but we both felt the attitudes of the people at the reception desk left much to be desired. Instead of trying to meet our needs and make us feel welcome, they were busy trying to argue and win their point through. We were disgusted by both check in processes. Check in also took much longer […] than any other hotels I had been to, and we were left waiting at the desk with no explanation. The concierge was commendable. On the day of our check out, my aunt called them earlier to ask if there was a taxi that could accommodate our 5 persons and 7 pieces of luggage. She was told that there is a mini van taxi, but the person neglected to mention that there is a 2hr advance booking time if booked through the hotel. When he came to move our luggages downstairs and realized we hadn't booked the taxi, he used his own mobile to help us locate any van that would take us to the airport. We also found the concierge to be knowledgeable about the hotel's surroundings, teaching us the shortcuts, and they gave us good recommendations for food too. 1-2 times, because of jet lag, we'd be looking for breakfast at 6am. They would do a search to make sure the places they recommended were open, and also printed out the maps for us so we wouldn't get lost. We thought the surrounding area was a little bare when it came to food, until the concierge's recommendations, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms are more spacious than most HK hotels, mainly because this is slightly off the main touristy TST belt. Getting to TST and HK island is not as straightforward as staying on the TST-Jordon-Mongkok stretch for sure, but the hotel is right on top of Mongkok East station and a shopping centre which is pretty up to date and adequate. We enjoyed the cinema right downstairs too. Beautiful hotel, very comfortable and conveniently located. Most impressed with the service, from front desk to housekeeping and especially concierge. Not only did we get clear directions to the places of interest, the friendly staff also took pains to convince us of the best / cheapest / most convenient way to get to a particular place, eg take the […] bus, you get better views, plus taxi is only 15 mins faster, and you can buy a very good meal with the savings. Pros: Spacey room, great location. Cons: Not a classy joint. They have no idea on managing a big hotel. Bad experiences during my stay: 1) Each room is limited to one extra blanket and 2 extra pillow - never heard of it. 2) We keep getting second-hand smoke in our non-smoking room. Inspite of many complaints, nothing was done. Front desk was stupid […] enough to offer a airfreshener spray - really? 3) At my check out, they insisted we consumed a can of Pringles and tried to charge me $30 HKD for it. I kept telling them we did not. They actually made me wait and called somebody to verify the can of chips was indeed still in the room. No class. I wouldn't even eat it if it was complimentary. The location of the hotel is very central and everything is within walking distance. A lot of eating places around and is close to the underground train. We stayed on the high floor executive rooms facing the pool and the rooms are huge by Hong Kong standard. The hotel staffs in particular the cleaning teams are very prompt and thorough. They make […] sure that you have a clean and comfortable bed to come back to. The front desk staffs (reception) are also very efficient and polite except that we didn't get one out of 3 rooms we booked after 6:30pm on the date of arrival but they managed to have our 3 rooms on the same floor. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends back in Australia. Keep up the good work and we'll book the same hotel when we come to Hong Kong again. This is my second stay there. Spacious room at great location. A little big old but heard that they will have a renovation. 5 star gym and swimming pool. Will stay there again as they probably have the biggest standard room. Linked to the train station and shopping center where you can find all kinds of shops and restaurants.

We arrived at the hotel at 1.30pm. We booked 2 rooms, but only managed to get one room at 4pm and the other room at 5 plus. We were told at one plus that the rooms are under cleaning. But the shopping complex does have 2 computers for shoppers to use Internet for a max of ten mins per login. The hotel is situated in a good location if u like mongkok area. First be aware there are two different check in areas, once you get pas the guards with the machine guns and mine sweeping equipment at the front steps of the hotel, located on a VERY busy street. Lobby number 1 is perpetually crowded by bus tours of Korean and Chinese visitors forever milling in and out of the registration area which is about the […] size of a McDonalds dining room. Don't try and sit down because there is essentially no lobby. I had planned a couple of interviews/business meetings in the hotel but quickly realized this was a non starter. I resorted to the Starbucks at the front of the building . I really didn't want to venture out much past the guards with the machine guns. The second lobby was located at the rear end of the second building. The ride up ithe elevator to the 14th(approx) floor was a scenic view of the garbage dumps located adjacent to the building as well as the lack of any type of zoning in the area. The hotel is located half a block from what is called the Fuente, a huge traffic circle that was sort of a low tech times square type of intersection. Vert busy and high, high levels of traffic that moved aggressively. The first room they showed me was on the lowest floor and had a view of the wall of the building across the way(about 15 feet). THE ONLY WINDO IN THE ROOM,which was adorned with curtains that , no joke, had holes in them the size of hockey pucks. I was moved to a room at a higher level. Good for me I though. Must have been a mistake. The room was located, AGAIN I ANOTHER KIDDING, UNDERNEATH THE HEALTH CLUB, so I listen to the pounding of treadmills during gym hours(most of the day and night). My shower head was literally 4 ft off the ground. I am 6 ft tall. Kind of a pain. I only saw one cockroach(which I killed on the spot) If you are going to take advantage of the breakfast, be prepared to wait in line behind all of the Korean bus tour folks looking happy to have a meal. Overall I am ok with our stay in the hotel because of the location and the room is big. But not really clean because when I took out the spoon from the drawer to make a cup of drink, the spoon is sticky with stain on it. Plus, I don't like the bathroom. Its small and old and give me the creepy feeling because of the vent right on top of the bathtube. […] The hole is big and noisy and my kids also felt very uncomfortable. Great hotel. Realy big room, with everything you need. good sound isolated. good climate control in room. close to mtr station. and close to shopping centre, with lots of restaurants. Next time i visit hong kong, i would certainly choose the same hotel.

You have to take a taxi in and out after midnite when the mall and MTR are closed.

This hotel is away from Central, which is where you want to be if you're in Hong Kong for tourism. Overall, this was not a very good buy for us.

Stayed at the royal plaza during thanksgiving wkend and thought the hotel was in a very convenient location and had a very helpful and dedicated staff! The whole staff there were eager to provide help in any way they could have. The location is perfect for bargain shoppers and close to different restaurants. The subway station was so close and easy […] to use and you can use it to get to any part of hk that you wanted to visit! Only complaint was the musty smell of the room that once you turned on the ac cleaned up some of the smell and the loud construction noises we heard at 7 in the morning everyday!! The Mong Kok area is characteristic of 'old Hong Kong' and close to all the great shopping markets. Street food was hot and tasty.

Royal Plaza Hotel was ideally located for us. We were wihtin walking distance to most of the things that we wanted to see in that area e.g. Ladies market, Temple st market. Public transport was under neath the hotel so everything was at your finger tips.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations and was superior to many of the 4 to 5 star hotels we had stayed in in the past 6 weeks in Amsterdam, Morocco, Spain and Portugal. We will stay there again if in the area.

Wish the hotel could have provided free internet service.

This Hotel is near all the shopping you can stand. The room was clean but the hallway needed an update. I used the concierge desk several times and they were always helpful and spot on with their assistance.The only negative items were that the hotel shuttle would have cost more than the taxi for two of us. This is the 2nd time I had stayed there. I have alwa ys thought the location is really convenient for access to 'fa yuan market' and 'lady's market'. But the check-in experience was bad. We reached the hotel at about 1.30pm and did the nessaries to check in. Upon completion we were told that the room will only be ready by 2pm ??!! We were given a tag […] and was told to come back then. When I go back to collect the room card, I had to queue for about 20mins before we were attended and keys issue. This place is located in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of the city i.e. Kowloon District. It's noisy and polluted. The service in the hotel isn't exactly brilliant but they have good restaurants. The walls are paper thin, we had several sleepless nights due to noisy people in the room next door. Admiralty has some classy hotels and much less noise and stress. Also, it's close to the financial district, with its beautiful arquitecture. The Royal Plaza is such a big hotel that it is really really busy. It took us 40 minutes to check in. We had a three-day stay - after "discovering" the hotel on an earlier trip - and think it's a decent HK option at a fair price. It's stretching things to suggest it's a five-star place, and the rooms are in need of an upgrade. But it is comfortable, clean and well-enough placed (with downtown shuttle, and sitting on a tube station). Rooms are good-sized […] for HK, and the attached shopping centre gives good meal options. TAP WATER IS NOT SUITABLE FOR DRINKING. That's the sign right above the bathroom sink. Luckily they provide complementary water you can use to brush your teeth. otherwise the room is very comfortable and clean. On our stay in Hong Kong this was our second hotel, upon arrival the staff swarm the taxi to grab our items from the trunk, we had 3 pieces […] of luggage and one suite jacket, they insisted on taking our items, being someone who doesn't like people taking my items out of sight it made me a little nervous, I asked my husband twice if they got the suite coat, He assured me they had. Then the staff whisked us to the check in and told us they would bring our items up. I woundered were they knew to bring it as we didn't have a room number yet. upon checking in they told us the manager would like us to go upstairs to the Executive lounge for check in....wow special service! Well it's really just trying to upsale you breakfast, internet, and cocktail hour. If i spent all day in the hotel it maybe o.k. but i don't. When we got to our room they brought our luggage very quickly, we left promptly to get some food, not even noticing (which we take some blame) they didn't bring the jacket until the night we we're packing to leave, They lost the jacket.. We had to talk with a manager, they first said we must have packed it and didn't realize it yet....then they said we never took it out of the cab...then they showed us the "surveillance video still pictures" that were very blurry, you could barely make out the jacket...in my husbands hands. The concierge actually took it from him. They totally played dumb.....i explained when they insist on taking items they are responsible....not one apology . so in this case i can not give them a good review, very uncooperative. I liked the location, amenities and the food is great. THe only thing I didn't like is the customer service. When I go to a hotel I like to feel at home and people in the hotel is so rude and not very polite. I need a hotel which provides me what I need and is willing to help me not as an obligation or for a fee.

Royal Plaza in Hong Kong. Unfortunately I arrived in Hong Kong off a flight from San Francisco with food poising. The duty manger arranged a taxi and gave all the instruction to the drive to take me to a nearby hospital (ST Teresa) where I received the best attention I could get. On return to the hotel the management arranged extra water and bowel for […] me as well as inquired trice as to my health. The hotel was really lovely but unfortunately I was only there three days and didn’t get full value of the hotel as but what I saw I loved and the staffs were lovely. This hotel in busy East Mong Kok is in a perfect location if you are interested in shops malls and markets,great food of every type and description. easy to access transport and a comfortable place to come home to.

Very helpful front desk staff. They are very professional.
