Just a block away from KaDeWe and all the shops on Kurfürstendamm, it was also in a surprisingly quiet location. Nice restaurants within walking distance. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

The hotel was perfectly location within walking distance to the KeDeWe and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church as well as a major U Ban station. It was a great value with good service, very clean, very quiet, and quite comfortable. The staff all spoke some level of English and were helpful and polite.

I booked the hotel hoping for a good 4star hotel, but i was disappointed at first. The room was small, the wardrobe space was minimal, the bathroom was tiny, there was only a shower which was pretty cramped for a 6ft tall, 15stone guy to use. Wee things i'd expect from a four star hotel such as a Kettle and Coffee/Tea were missing, as well as soaps, shampoo, moisturisers etc. in the bathroom, but apart from all that it was clean and tidy, and in a good central location just 1 block walk away from the heart of West Berlin, the Ku Damm. In the United Kingdom or USA/Canada, the hotel and facilities would be on a par with the leading budget brand hotels, and not a 4star, but if you value location over a cup of coffee first thing at night then your okay.

Our double room had two separate beds pushed together. They kept sliding apart, so the night wasn't very comfy. Parking was 13 € a night. Internet costs around 20 € for 24 hrs, so we didn't get it. Overall not very satisfying.

Staff were a bit formal and aloof and made little effort to be helpfull. When asked about shows on in Berlin they pointed to a display of leaflets. Internet was available at one very busy computer near the front desk so hard to get to use it. Buffet dinner on a Friday evening there was pathetic. Room was very warm despite a fan. No A/C.

The location is excellent!

A king bed was advertised, the room allocated was a twin. Complementary toileteries were advertised, none in room, later requested and not provided. I chose this hotel because they provided these services

The Alsterhof Berlin definitely exceeded my expectations on the quality of the room, location to surrounding areas of Berlin and the convenience to access. Just steps away from the U-Bahn made the trip much more pleasurable since I took the train to Berlin from Southern Germany. One improvement on the hotel I would love to see, would be the hours/time of the restaurant service. The hotel didn't seem to have a schedule that coincided with my plans, nonetheless, I just walked 1 block away to the shopping areas near the KaWeDe Mall and found numerous places to eat. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, the staff were extremely helpful and polite. I would definitely stay there again and also recommend this to any one traveling to Berlin who would like a centrally located, very nice place to stay at a very affordable price.

I stayed four nights in the Alsterhof Berlin in late May. As mentioned in previous reviews, there was no air conditioning other than an open window. It got warm in the room during the day. The bedding material (sheets) were never changed during the four day stay and the floor was not vacumned daily. The hotel only supplied soap (not shampoo). However, given the cost of the hotel compared to surrounding hotels it made these inconviences easier to swallow. The location of the hotel was excellent. It is in a quiet neighborhood but within walking distance to the major shopping area in Berlin.

I stayed at the Alsterhof Berlin for a week. The hotel is well run and well maintained. The staff is very helpful and courteous. Location is outstanding, only two blocks from Kurferstendamm shopping, restaurants, and Berlin's excellent public transportation system. Only complaints are minor--WiFi reception is very erratic. I often found myself using the lobby computer to do e-mail (free service). Second minor complaint, the chairs provided in the rooms are quickly uncomfortable. So the bed became the seat of choice, awkward, but functional. Nice hotel. I ighly recommend the Alsterhof. Visitors that will spend the majority of their waking time out of the hotel will likely have no complaints at all.

No air conditioning, water in shower was slow and temperature inconsistent, and service, including housekeeping, was questionable. The location is great and the appearance and size of the room was acceptable.

Only serious problem is it didnt have airconditioning which no problem during my stay but if in hotter season, reconsider.

Nice and friendly staff. Very good breakfast,but expencive. Not suitable for wheelchairs. Small lifts. It felt safe to use the key in the lift.

Ett bra och prisvärt hotell med bra läge, ett stenkast från bl.a. KaDeWe. Rummen var ganska stora och fräscha, men saknade det lilla extra för att få full poäng.

Super dejligt hotel, med meget sødt personale da der i perioden vi opholdt os, var der extremt varmt. der mangler derfor aircondition på værelserne.

Cette hôtel de grande classe se situe à proximité du Kudamm , le personnel est prévenant et la chambre occupée ( une suite spacieuse pour 3 personnes ) nous a permis de passer un excellent séjour à Berlin.

Gute Lage - ruhige Lage (Nächte) - verkehrsgünstige Anbindung (U-Bahn) . Saubere Umgebung. Man fühlt sich wohl und sicher im Alsterhof. Preis Leistung stimmt.

Very friendly and helpful personnel. At first I got a smokers room but when I told reception that I preferred a non-smoking room they really did their best to get me another one, with succes. Also they helped me with all other questions I had, for instance using the internet (free in the lobby) and printing (my plane ticket, free as well)...it was no problem at all.

Utmärkt beläget hotell fem minuter till fots från KaDeWe, mindre än en kvart från Bahnhof Zoo. Gedächtniskirche, Kurfürstendam etc på bekvämt avstånd till fots, mindre än en minut till U-Bahn Augsburger Strasse. Stort, trevligt dubbelrum, badrum med badkar. Trevlig personal i receptionen.

Ett riktigt dåligt hotell som gömmer sig under sina stjärnor ,länge sedan jag fick ett så dåligt bemötande i receptionen, hotellet saknar luftkonditionering ,även den vanliga ventilationen lyser med sin frånvaro,luften stog still på våningsplanet

People in the information were good at english, very helpfull. Rooms were very clean and tidy and furnitures were quite new. Breakfast are a little expensive, but there is something for everybody and it tastes great. I will probably use this hotel again, if I go to Berlin another time.

Beim Einchecken keinerlei Informationen über die Gepflogenheiten des Hotels zum Beispiel wo ist der Fahrstuhl wie nutze ich den Fahrstuhl mit der Karte welche Möglichkeiten bietet der Wellnessbereich welchen Service bietet das Hotel auf den Zimmern usw Der hauseigene Biergarten ist sehr laut überflüssigerweise dudelt der Außenlautsprecher auch noch wenn der Service sehr laut und rücksichtslos bis kurz vor Mitternacht diesen Bereich aufräumt

Man kan kanskje ikke forvente all verden av et hotell når prisen er så lav som her. Hotellet er fint nok det, men servicen var elendig! Bortsett fra en concierge/pikkolo som gjorde en glimrende jobb, virket det som om resten av de ansatte var lei jobben sin.

Hotellet ligger ret tæt på Kurfürstendamm og Gedächtniskirche, så det er et helt perfekt sted at bo hvis man kun har kort tid i Berlin. Vi havde kun én hel dag i Berlin, men fordi vi startede vores sightseeing ret tæt på hotellet, nåede vi at se rigtig meget. Morgenmaden i restauranten var der gjort lidt ekstra ud af med fx. purløg til scrambled eggs m.m., og der var virkelig meget forskelligt at smage på. Der mangler intet på dette hotel!!

Perfecte ligging

Hotel ist angenehm und gepflegt. Das Personal ist hilfsbereit und freundlich. Sehr zentrale Lage mit kurzen Wegen zu öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln in alle Richtungen.

Hotellet var pænt og renligt. Gratis aviser er inkluderet i prisen, problemet var bare at de havde 4 tyske og wall street journal som var væk hver eneste morgen. Internettet skulle man betale for. Selv hvis man var i lobby'en skulle man stadig betale. Priserne var 8 euro for en time og 13 euro for 24 timer. Wellness var fint og dejligt med stortset ingen mennesker. I fitnessrummet var der lidt problemer da lyssensoren ikke kunne registrerer at jeg sad og cyklede, hvilket gjorder at jeg måtte cykle i mørke med kun lys fra gangen og fra TV. Alt i alt er det fint et meget fint hotel og ligger perfekt for de shoppeglade, da der kun er 100m ned til strøget.

Wir hatten als Gruppe 4 EZ, jedersagte das gleiche: Kleiner kann ein Bad nicht sein, sehr eng und ungemütlich. Die Heizung lässt sich nicht individuell regeln, das Zimmer war an zwei Tagen völlig überheizt. Service ist schlecht für 4-Serne-Haus. Man hat den Eindruck, es nandelt sich um ein Touristen-Hotel und die kommen ohnehin nur 1 Mal, also braucht man sich nicht anstrengen. Frühstück: Buffet sehr eng, Auswahl am unteren Ende, Preis zu teuer: Gehen Sie lieber ins Opernpalais (Buslinie 100 oder 200, Haltestelle Staatsoper), haben wir 2-mal gemacht. Ist deutlich besser, mit besserem Service und höherer Auswahl und obendrein spart man noch 1,10 Euro. Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut, 5 Minuten zu Fuß zur Gedächtniskirche, 10 zum Bahnhof Zoo, 1 zur U-Bahn Augsburger Straße, 5 Minuten zum Bus 100, 200. Ich würde hier nicht mehr buchen! Lieber zahle ich bei einem günstigen AG von Radisson o. ä. 15 Euro mehr pro Nacht. Solche Angebote standen auch zur Wahl.

Fahrstuhlsystem etwas altmodisch, moderne Schlüssel (wie Kreditkarten) wären angebracht

The hotel is rather non-descript. Good area, walking distance from all major U-bahns, KaDeWe etc. Breakfast is so so and not worth the extra cost. WiFi is not free, which should be in every hotel now these days. But you can use ONE free station near the hallway and print for free. The room and bed is fine + clean, quiet, but the bathroom needs a bit of a touch up. Prefer a good shower, rather than a bathtub with a lousy shower curtain by IKEA. Overall a good hotel for the price and area.

Ich bekam ein Zimmer gegenüber von einem Fahrstuhl und direkt neben dem Treppenflur. Abends war es dadurch sehr laut. Sobald das Licht ausgemacht war, drang enorm viel Licht durch die Ritzen von der Tür. Eine Zwischentür gab es leider nicht, hätte aber eine Menge genutzt. Das Zimmer war außerdem so klein, dass durch das Bett praktisch keine Möglichkeit bestand normal zum Fenster zu gehen. Lag im Bett, konnte man auf dem Fernseher nichts mehr erkennen, da der LCD Fernseher so einen schlechten Blickwinkel hat. Wäre alles kein Problem, wenn das Hotel sich nicht selbst als 4-Sterne Hotel ausweisen würde. Wen das nicht stört. Es ist sauber und hat eine Minibar. Man kann es für eine Nacht aushalten.

Koselig hotell med glimrende service og blide, behjelpelige ansatte. Sentral beliggenhet midt mellom restauranter og butikker. Koselig hotellbar :)
