Hard beds, good location, can walk to the Commons. Halls were hot and humid, room was OK though, fake eggs for breakfast yuck!

hotel overall ok, but watch out for rooms facing freeway, and there is no wireless connection away from office

Our room was clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the wireless Internet signal was very weak. I found it impossible to load streaming video or to upload large files. However, the rooms were quiet, and parking was easily accessible. It was a pleasant stay.

After some of the reviews i was a little concerned. However the hotel and its employees were outstanding. I will be coming back.

They charged my credit card $150 two days after I left claiming I smoked in the room. Neither my wife or I have ever smoked, the hotel did not follow their poicy, they won't refund the money or provide the documentation from staff and I have no recourse so my room cost me an extra $150. Don't stay here!

Right after check-in, we called the front desk to ask for a crib for our 1-year old son. After two hours, we called again and was told the crib would be right up. Then we received a call right back saying there would be a $10 charge per night for the crib. When I asked why this was not stated when I booked the room, nor is it mentioned in their guest service guide (mention is only made of a charge for roll-away beds), the front desk clerk got very defensive, blaming my third party booking service and an old guest service guide in the room. I was told that "if I was going to make a big deal about $10, I would need to be put on hold, while she checked in other guests." After 15 minutes on hold, I was told I would not be charged for the crib and it was delivered 10 minutes later. The complimentary breakfast was good overall. However, the breakfast attendant did not even look up or say hello, only asked for our room number and wrote it in a log. The breakfast buffet is not self-serve. However, other hotel employees grabbed plates and served themselves heaping portions. Just seemed a bit odd.

Huge room with 2 queen sized beds, the breakfast was wonderful

We were pleasantly surprised when we checked in to find a very large room with a king bed, love seat, arm chair, good sized desk and desk chair. Although Route 101 was on one side of the hotel, and we were right overlooking the pool, our room was perfectly quiet day and night. We couldn't even hear any noise from other guest rooms. The breakfast was much better than the usual hotel breakfast - eggs, sausage, hash browns, and waffles as well as the usual bagels, muffins and juice. The only negative was that the rooms showed a little wear, and the free wireless internet was slow (although there was a wired connection that worked better.) The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and convenient hotel in Calabasas.

We selected this hotel based on the reviews and the proximity to LA attractions. We were mainly interested in the the Hollywood studios and not so much with the Disney/Anaheim Attractions. While this hotel is not in Hollywood, it does provide a quick 15-20 minute drive into downtown hollywood. The studios and attractions didn't open until 10 so LA traffic had eased. The room was very clean and confortable. Ours Featured two queen beds. When we arrived we needed a rollaway bed as well (there is a charge over and above the extra guest fee that hotels.com charges). It was then we discovered that the phone in the room didn't work. Fortunately i had the hotels # in my cell phone (thanks hotels.com) and notified the front desk. A technician was sent up promptly to fix the phone and a rollaway bed was soon to follow. The hotel is located in a nice little suburb called Calabasas. There was convenient shopping and dining with a grocery store where you could stock the mini fridge that comes with the room. The pool area was nice and had a hot tub which was a welcome relaxation after a day at a theme park, however the water was a bit (sandy) and required a shower after using. The hotel also provided additional towels at the pool so you didn't need to take and dampen your bath towel. (granted many high end luxury hotels provide this type of service but for what serves the role of a highway motor inn it was an unexpected touch) I have to say that I was the most impressed with the complimentarty breakfast. This is not your standard stale bagel and watered down orange juice continental breakfast. The breakfast included hot eggs (there was a chef cooking them right in front of us) hot crisp bacon one day, ham the next, hash browns, DIY hot fresh Waffles, a selection of 4 juices, milk, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh fruit. Nice clean tables and a veiw of the pool/hot tub area. We would definately stay there again, it met or exceeded all of our expectations.

Nice spot for the LA basin...not too expensive, friendly staff and great breakfast (until 9:30AM)! Mall across the street and good eats down the street in old town Calabasas.

I just let you know the shower in a bathroom made me angry. only few few water came out. So feel so bad to rinse out all soap residual.

This hotel is a great value in a nice place

This was our second stay at this hotel, but we had a few problems during our stay. We used the guest laundry only to find we were unable to dry our clothes because the hotel staff was using the guest dryer to dry hotel sheets. In addition to this problem we had a problem with a sewer type odor in the room from late afternoon into the evening. We advised the hotel staff of the problem and our room was changed immediately. We also had a problem with a very large cockroach in the bathroom. Upon calling the front desk, a maintenance person was immediately dispatched to our room and a deep cleaning was performed. The front desk staff and the cleaning and maintenance people were wonderful. Very polite, concerned and efficient. In spite of these problems, I would stay at this hotel again. No problems were encountered on our first stay and they tried to solve all our problems on the second stay. Other than the aforementioned, we like the area, the convenience, the comfort and the staff.

Stayed in early May 2009. Temp outside in the 90's. Air conditioning in the room was super loud the 1st night. It stopped working the 2nd night. Front desk was "busy with other guests" to help get maintenance to fix the A/C or change rooms for us. My poor kids had to straight sleepless nights. First and last time staying here.

Affordable, friendly staff, great location, comfortable room. I would skip the breakfast. Lot's of places close by.

There was remodling being done in the lobby, which from the condition of the rest of the motel, was probably overdue. The room was fairly large, but there were a number of spots here and there needing repair. The room smelled a bit musty and the sheets and pillow cases were limp. The free breakfast was fair. The cook aimed to please and he was pleasant, the coffee and juice were like water, and the furniture and wallpaper were in need of repair. The location is great. The hotel is a block away from The Commons, a very nice outdoor mall and right off the highway exit. Hopefully the motel is going through a full renovation as it is presently does not represent the neighborhood well.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. Close to freeway for easy access to surrounding areas. Although there was no bar at the hotel, there were plenty of bars and places to eat within easy walking distance.

The hotel room was very clean and in a great location. There is a farmers market on the weekends that is just a short walk and it was great. For the price we paid we were very happy with this hotel. The fridge and microwave in the room was very convenient especially with a 1 year old. The room was also a good size so we were not too cramped. The only thing I didn't like is there is no water pressure in the shower and when I went to the workout room NONE of the equipment was working. Luckily the weather was nice and it is in a good neighborhood so I was able to go for a nightly jog.

The thing my family appreciates the most of the Country Inn in Calabasas is Breakfast. It is not your typical Continental breakfast. They serve scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, ham or bacon, sometimes with salsa. There are two waffle makers, yogurt, coffee, juices, oatmeal, cereal and different breads to toast. It is truthfully what brings us back time and time again.

We have a child attending a nearby California university, and we always stay here when we are visiting. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, and there are great restaurants and stores just a two minute walk down the street. The staff are friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stayed for four days, and overall were quite satisfied with the service and cleanliness of the hotel. It's located in a predominently residential area near a nice shopping center, and is close to the freeway to LA (25 mi. south). We made use of the microwave and fridge in our room, and appreicated the heavy light-shielding curtains on the windows. Enjoyed the hot complimentary breakfast on weekdays, however on the weekend we were there, the one staffperson needed assistance, and by 9 AM they ran out of many breakfast items (breakfast ended at 10 AM).

I only chose this hotel because of it's location as my friends' home is an easy drive from it. I was there for a big bash in Beverly Hills and would have preferred to stay there but this was a better situation in terms of logistics. The hotel was just run-of-the-mill, nothing outstanding conversely, it was not in anyway inferior--it was what a Country Inn would be expected to be; a sort of glorified motel but very well kept. The other advantage since I was not driving, was easy access to The Commons, an upscale shopping area with a Starbucks and other nice shops only steps away. Lastly, there were kids staying over throwing parties in their rooms but most were decently behaved, not overly loud. I would recommend this hotel for someone who wants a reasonably priced clean hotel and not more.

I first stayed at this hotel when my sister got married in Calabasas. Although it is outside of Los Angeles, my husband and I always stay here when we go down there. I took my students there this time for a field trip. I knew they would be safe and have a good time. Plus this place has a nice pool, jacuzzi and great breakfast.

The hotel is convenient for us. The only complaint is that the rooms on the street side are noisy at night and in the early am. Breakfasts are hot and adequate. Soap is poor. Does not lather up. Change the quality of the soap.

The AIR conditioner did not work and they said it was to old to fix. We had to open the window for air the 101 fwy was next door

I THOUGHT THAT THE ROOM WASN'T VERY CLEAN. IT SMELLED REALLY BAD. I HAD TO OPEN THE WINDOW EVERYDAY TO GET SMELL OUT. FOR THE PRICE OF THE HOTEL IT WASN'T WORTH IT. THEY NEED TO MAKE SOME IMPROVEMENTS. IF IT WEREN'T FOR MY SON LIVING NEAR, WE WOULD NOT HAVE STAYED THERE.

The staff at this hotel are very friendly, the rooms large and comfortable and clean. The wireless internet signal wasn't great in my room, so I had to go to the lobby to use internet. The far end of the hotel is adjacent to the 101 freeway, so that side of the hotel can get loud in the morning.

The first room we received smelled horribly, and the carpet was wet. There was clearly a leak in the bathroom that had not been properly addressed. We were given a new room, but were up half the night because of an extremely loud party in the basement lounge (which was closed every other night it was supposed to be open to guests), that included incredibly loud music that actually shook our room. We and multiple other guests complained frequently, but nothing was done. We will NEVER stay there again, nor recommend it to anyone we know.
