Marina del Rey Hotel

I loved the location of the Hotel it is convient to everything great shops, restaurants etc. The only negeatives I have about the Hotel is the plus of the Hotel. The patio is lovely but the furniture on the patio is filthy dirty.

Great location, but way over priced, even with "discount." It is in a depressing state of disrepair, peeling paint, scuff marks on walls in common areas, bedrooms and elevator, and worn carpets and drapes throughout. Shower pressure and 'hot water' inadequate. "Free 'WiFi' never worked. Ditto for air conditioning. Breakfast and all other food is also […] expensive, considering the price for the room. At least you get a "free" breakfast at a Holiday Inn, and other priced hotels. You might expect at least a free cup of coffee for the very over priced room. Leer más

We stayed at the Marina Del Ray Hotel for the E3 conference in LA. The drive wasn't bad at all in non-rush hour times, usually about 30 minutes. It was very close to Santa Monica and the 3rd Street Promenade, as well as Venice Beach (not as cool a place as everyone makes it out to be). The hotel room has a great view of the marina, and the king size […] bed was a welcome rest at the end of each day. The water in the shower seemed to fluctuate from hot to cold though, and at one point I (not my girlfriend luckily) saw a spider crawl out of one of the vents near the roof and crawl back in. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room -- first floor on marina side, near the pool -- was clean and comfortable. The outside area of the bar and grill was a nice place for drinks and dinner, food was decent, and my well-behaved dog was welcomed and accommodated. This hotel was beautiful the scene from your room was so pretty. We had the marina in front of our window and it was beautiful. You can order room service if u want and we had breakfast and it was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area looked very pretty although we didnt have time to go in. The restaurant was lovey good food […] and nice view. Would recommend this hotel to others and would go back myself. Just expect to use taxi's to hollywood ect anywhere too far as buses are very far and few between and difficult to understand. Amazing steal for this neighborhood. Hotel is a little worn around the edges so if you need shiny and new, skip it; if location and character matter,: book it! People are right re thin walls. Not for light sleepers on a weekend, anyway

We were on the 1st floor our first night there, and we got to listen to a couple upstairs having a "very" good time until 2am. The front desk person was very helpful and moved us to the top floor for the second night. We were expecting a great night, were we wrong. That night we got to listen to the next room have a party until 3am. I did call the front […] desk and complained about the noise, which helped for about 30 minutes, then the noise got loud again. Very reasonably priced hotel, in a convenient location, near LAX airport.

The bathroom was dirty, the beds were hard, internet was super slow when it worked, and the hotel is very outdated. I will never stay here again.

Fabulous hotel and spa. Great views, service, food and rooms. We will definitely go back again, and are already planning our next vacation to the Monterey/San Francisco area. Oh, the 17 mile drive along the coast to Pebble Beach is sensational.

The only good thing I can say about the Marina del Rey hotel was the location. The building is in desperate need of remodeling. Forget about getting any sleep if your room is located near the lobby. There was a family who stayed above me on the second floor, the entire time I could hear their conversations, them dropping shoes on the floor, constantly […] walking back and forth. It was the worst experience ever. I spoke with the front desk on many occasions regarding the lack of a refrigerator in the room. The fact that the hotel had free parking and a pool already made it more appealing to me than other hotels. It's a quick 5 minute drive to Venice, bit longer to Santa Monica. I chose to stay in Marina Del Rey b/c Santa Monica was just way too expensive. SItuated right on a marina, there's a great view of the water and pier (no ocean obviously). I could hear the tv on in the room next to me allll niiiiiight and there was some massively loud thumping upstairs from me. Sounded like someone was getting body-slammed. The room itself was a normal room. Nothing super fancy but had all the necessary amenities.. My room even had a balcony. Nice bikes and beautiful suroundings Would stay there again!

Exactly what we needed, in a beautiful position, we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights here, the hotel is a bit tired but very clean and very good value. I would come again for sure.

I have stayed at this hotel 2 times now and have had nothing short of a wonderful experience. The location is great and the staff were super helpful. The hotel is on the older side but it's clean and the rooms overlooking the marina are nothing short of spectacular.

Whole place has charm, bar a period piece, but-the whole building needs a major refit, however still comfortable.

overall hotel is just fine. The view is not that great but faces the marina (full of boats). Rooms get loud, specially near the lobby or first floor.

I was dissapointed with my stay here. The ourside pool was listed as heated and it wasn't. I couldn't take the grandkids swimming. Food service was very very slow. The condition of the hotel was barely average. I was there for four days and on the 3rd day, housekeepiong forgot to clean my room and restock supplies. A frig had been in the room but was […] removed. Apparently some rooms had one and some didn't. Most importantly the hotel was incredibly noisy. The frist night someone was laud and obnixious for two hours Everyone could hear him. I called the front desk twice - no help. The next night, a different room went very noisy. Beds hard but getting better. Hotel is like going back in time about 40 years to the probably finest place then. Great location. May need an upgrade but still really nice inside. A little out of style but well maintained. No regrets. Would go back again. Very safe, nice service, no charge for parking.

We've stayed at this hotel before and were very pleased with it so decided to return and we're glad we did. The front desk personnel were extremely pleasant, courtesy and professional. We requested to change rooms due to a tree blocking the beautiful marina view and the front desk found us exactly what we were hoping for. The location is great! We […] had just stayed several days right on Venice Beach and this was a very nice change of scenery, very relaxing. The only downside I have is that the floors creak (alot). this hotel must have wood floors under the carpet. all we heard all night were the guests above us walking around. squeaky squeaky floors. didn't sleep at all. Nice views, good location, but with no sleep who could enjoy it.

I've known LA hotels to upgrade their properties much less frequently than in other areas of the country. This hotel is no exception. When asked the address to deliver to, I looked at the phone and gave them the phone number and address that were on it. The location of this hotel is just in the bay. View is so wonderful. Beside of that, it's very close to the airport, just 10 minutes by car. It's very convenient for the traveller.

signed off not to smoke in the room then they ended up putting us in a smoking room with peeling wallpaper and water stains on the drapes. We were not able to adjust the thermostat because it was programed for the wing and it was 76 in the room and heat blew until 10:30 at night. We really liked Marina Del Rey Hotel. It was nicely maintained, the staff was very friendly & we could have our dog there! Don't worry all you people who do not want to travel with pets, the animal corridor is separate from the others.

We arrived later in the night, tired and ready to fall into bed. The desk clerk was nowhere to be found, and there was no way of notifying anyone of their absence. ie, There was no sign indicating "be back in x minutes" or anything. When the clerk did arrive, the he said the computer system was down and that we would have to wait about 10 minutes to […] our dismay. No apologies offered, nothing... The room itself was quaint, but the bathroom sink was not clean with spots of debris in the basin, and the toilet seat had dust on it, also the shower mat had disgusting hair on the bottom of it. Since we got in late, we needed to sleep in a bit so we requested a later checkout, but we were greeted with "This room was specifically requested, and so we can only add 0.5 hours to the checkout time". Also, a lady walking the halls knocked on our door to confirm we were checking out which only irritated us even more. All in all a pretty poor experience, as the hotel did not offer us anything to make us feel wanted or like guests. The only positives we can say are that there is parking available, and that the location is decent if you want to see the Venice, Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey area. This hotel is within the beautiful Marina del Rey in Los Angeles. At the end of one of the channels, it si surrounded by boat docks and has great views of the entire marina as well as the hills and mountains a few miles inland. Boat rentals, bike and walking paths, and many good restaurants are nearby, most within short walks. The good: The hotel is in a wonderful spot, right in the marina, and close ti LAX without being under the flight path. It is clean and well staffed, and the breakfast (not included) is good. The bad: The hotel did a quick fix, when it really needs a total remodel. I was disappointed in the condition of the rooms. lobby and business center..

My boyfriend and I booked a room with a king sized bed here because the prices looked reasonable for the quality the pictures showed and its prime New Years location for fireworks. When we checked in we were given a room with 2 full beds because they overbooked. We felt our hands were tied since it was too late to cancel. When we got to the room we […] were disappointed. The beds appeared to be soft and clean like in the pictures but they were rough and hard. Everything in the room looked like it was from the 80's. The bathroom ceiling had old stains and what I can only guess was mold. The floor was clean but carpet was rough like a harsh shampoo vacuum cleaned it recently. We had a stunning view of the parking lot. The curtains would not shut all the way so people could look in as they walked into the lobby. We had to use a chair to get the curtains to stay shut. The only good thing about this hotel was that it was somewhat near the New Years fireworks, free parking, and late check out of 12pm. I would never ever come here. The quality was so low for the price we paid. I have found much nicer rooms for lower cost all over California and would have much rather just commuted to the fireworks instead of staying near the harbor. I feel very ripped off. Leer más

arrived sooner than expected and the staff had no issues allowing me check in early. Staff were very helpful and professional. The room was nice and clean and the view was breath taking. I had a great time and ended up extending my stay .

Hotel was clean and has a great location, but they use a central AC rather than controls for individual rooms. They turned the system completely off leaving it miserably stuffy, hot, and uncomfortable. Their solution to the problem was opening a window and bringing up a fan. After numerous complaints we checked out a day early and stayed at their sister […] property. In addition, the hotel hosted some sort of audition, yet they do not have the proper facilities to handle such an event. There were outsiders wandering the halls while we were trying to relax. Out of all hotels on our 3 week trip even to Vegas, this was my favourite the staff made it so comfortable and clean, the room had a wonderful scenic view. The a la carte evening meal was of a high quality standard and i couldn't pick fault. As it was my birthday on our stay they even gave us both a free complimentary buffet breakfast.
