Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney

El hotel es fantastico, es caro por las fechas que estuve fin de año, El acceso es lo feo del hotel. En general se puede recomendar.

The BLU bar was absolutely stunning. The views were amazing . The room was clean and the layout was functional.

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding in the city. We would highly recommend this hotel for it's 5 Star reputation, which lived up to the hype! Views from our window were fantastic.

I stay at Shangri-la hotel every time when I travel to Sydney. It's most comfortable and best value hotel.

I booked a one night stay as part of a series of birthday treats for my partner. When we checked in the concierge noticed the helium balloon he was holding and wished him happy birthday. When we got back to our room late that night after having gone to the theatre, we found a little cake with a birthday greeting iced onto the plate. Excelllent all around highly recommended. Magnificent views of the harbor. 5 star. Food a lot pricier than United States.

The horizon club lounge afternoon tea was disappointing. Seems staff were more intent on re- stocking for the cocktail hour. Amount of food was minimalistic with several EMPTY plates on the sparce buffet not being cleared and replenished. No eating implements so had to eat our sweets with our fingers Printer not working in Horizon club. Only found out […] when I went to print. "OH", said the girl at the desk. We stayed in a Horizon Club room located on the 32nd floor, from which the views were excellent. The Horizon lounge provided great views plus free drinks and canapes in the evening, which provided a great alternative to going out and finding a meal. We found the Shangra la a lovely place to stay.I could not say one negative thing about it.The staff were excellent,the room was an absolute delight comfortable beds and pillows. Very convenient to Opera House, ferries, restaurants.

We stayed on the club floor and whilst the view and the canapes were fantastic, the staff were less than helpful with any requests. The club standard just didn't match up with the promo blurb re service, food, and extras which one would expect with paying the premium price for the upgrade. The Darling Harbour room had a strange set up but was thoroughly […] clean and comfortable, the breakfast was only average and the place just felt like it needed a bit of a shake-up. Stayed here shortly before Christmas. We received everything I have come to expect from a Shangri La property - nothing more but certainly nothing less. Being a city centre hotel the level of service was more functional than at their more leisure/resort type properties, but that is to be expected. Very good hotel - well located, with very friendly and supportive staff, good restaurants, beautiful view to Opera House - all are good!. Highly recommended. The only thing - it's very popular at weekend, if possible, try to stay on weekdays ))))

There is not much to say about this hotel, simply I would say it is the best and one that I will always stay at when visiting Sydney. What a lovely hotel with real 5 star qualities. Would definitely stay again.

Hotel very good. Bathroom outstnding (One of the best we have ever seen) Neighborhood a bit grungy with only a pezza place full of drunks the only out of hotel eating nearby. Too far to shops.

Great Hotel in the center of the city “The Rocks” with a bar that had wonderful views of the bridge, harbour and opera house. The rooms were clean and we go an upgrade when we checked in to have a view of the opera house. You can walk everywhere in the city for this hotel just make sure you tell the concierge that you don’t want to go to touristy restaurants […] because they will send you to all of them first. Rooms. These aren't large, but its worth paying extra for the club rooms as they are higher and have a fab view. The hotel is at the top of a slope,and is great , as its minutes to the harbour, and all the resturants, and you can walk back at the end of the day. Breakfast was fine, like many 5 star, but no live yoghurt. The resturant upstairs was very […] nice, and had a good selection of drinks, tables wherent to close together, and staff new what they where doing, and where knowledgeable about the food, and if not sure,asked. The bar had great views, but was rather 80s, and there was a lack of urgency over clearing empty glasses, I didnt see tables or the bar being wipped over, no costers where handed out with the drinks, neither where peanuts. Not all cocktails or mixers where done correctly, and syrup was used rather than fresh fruit. Sent shoes to be cleaned, but no disernable difference when they returned, they certainly didnt use polish! The consierge was very helpful as where the doormen. The gym was well equiped, but you didnt have to sign in, and i couldnt see any disinfectant wipes< unusual in a 5 star hotel. Bed was comfy, but no choice of pillows. Leer más

I booked a hotel room with harbour vies which is more expensive than other rooms but unfortunately I could see only a small part of the harbour which is very disappointing.

I'm fussy with hotels so when booked in to the Shangri-La, Sydney Australia for 4 weeks on business I expected to have got fed up with them by the end of the second week and would need to move. Actually they were pretty lovely. The hotel good, if you were being critical, take a refurb. It's not of quite the same decor class as the recently refurbished […] Four Seasons around the corner. But that is reflected in the price and my room at the Shangri-La was the cheapest of the major hotels in central Sydney. The service though was great. I always think that Asian chains do a better job of customer service than others and they really did show that here. Everyone from reception to concierge to room service to spa and restaurant were really, naturally friendly and welcoming - whatever the time of day. I ended up really enjoying my stay at the Shangri-La Syndey and I've already booked another 13 day stay there for my next business trip. I would recommend it. Leer más

Location superb . Situated on top of a hill a bit of a climb so need to be energetic.The hotel is of a high standard and within reach of the sightseeing places.

We enjoyed our stay. The Hotel is very comfortable, clean and the staff helpful whenever you need something or any information. It's not inexpensive, wouldn't expect a 5 star to be. The time we booked was in July which is winter in Australia, probably off-season so possibly more reasonable than other times in the year. However, we found the rate better […] than most other 5 star Hotels in Sydney at the time we were looking. This Hotel includes free internet in the room which almost all others would charge $10 - 15 more per night. I really appreciated that. We had a 5 y/o child and he was provided with a very comfortable roll-away bed at no additional charge. Also the size of the king room was quite adequate to accomodate the roll-away. A shining clean large bathroom is another plus. Did I mention a great view of Sydney Harbor and Opera House? If I want to get picky there is no ice machine on the floor, ice was available only by calling room service, to me less convenient, but others may prefer the service. It would be nice if there was a coffee machine in the room, but this is probaly not common in Australia, I'm spoiled from US Hotels. Maybe they want to think about that for Americans. Also not a lot of drawer space but manageable if you keep some items in the luggage assuming you brought a fair amount. I also loved the large in-room safe. The location is great but be aware this Hotel is up a hill so you will need to climb stairs to get back unless you use a taxi. It is manageable if you are in good health and I appreciated the exercise. All in all a great hotel experience and we were there 8 nights which made that important. Leer más

I was expecting that this room will be facing the opera house but it was facing oposite side with only a small window on the left that barely showed the opera house. Big let down. All else was good.

Possibly the best view from a hotel window! Just a shame that the shower kept running from extreme hot and to ice cold and the hotel were unable to do anything about it.

The hotel is excellent and service is first class. The only drawback is the steepness of the access road to the main entrance. The views from the rooms over the Darling Harbour on one side and the Opera house on the other, especially when you accept the Horizon Club offer with the extras it gives you. Probably the best hotel experience I've ever experienced. I stayed in the Horizon Premier Grand Harbour View Room (corner room) at the 33rd floor. This hotel has 36 floors. This is probably one of the best spot in Sydney in terms of location. High and well oriented for a perfect panorama. The room was huge, spacious, clean and modern. I wanted my last day in Sydney to be remarkable so I booked a night at this hotel. The service I received was below my expectations. The room had several items of furniture that were broken an or chipped. When I booked the room I chose a room with Darling harbor view, instead I had a tool charge and a busy motorway right in front of my bed! So close […] I could actually read the number plates. I accidentally broke a glass in the bathroom and I asked a member of their staff to clear the broken glasses.... And the answer was that someone else would do it because this person was very busy. In the end I had to do it myself. Next time I shall look into alternative 5* accommodation. Leer más

In the bathroom, the bottles of shampoo and bath gel had been used and not replaced and there was a used cake of soap on the basin.

This is a hotel where you are treated as a true guest, really excellent service. The location is superb, best views on Harbour Bridge and the Opera House.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful city. But, on the hottest day on record (43C with oppressive humidity), one couldn't get into their bar with toeless shoes! Remarkable.

The hotel itself and all staff were excellent, informative and pleasant but the walk from Circular Quay to the hotel is not suitable for people with limited mobility as it is a steep hill. Definately would recommend hotel.

Pros -- Room was clean and comfortable. View was beautiful. Walking distance to some good bars and restaurants, as well as some shopping. Awesome bar on the top floor (though drinks are ~$20 a pop and it closes pretty early). Concierge support was fantastic. Cons -- Internet service went in-and-out (even ethernet). Room service was outrageously expensive. […] Shower water randomly fluctuated from unbearably hot to quite cold. Would not accommodate slightly early check-in. Cab stand staff was rude. Leer más

The Shangri-La Sydney had fantastic rooms with beautiful views of Sydney Harbour. The only let-down is the room service menu which is rediculously expensive and the food we ordered was of a poor standard, was delivered late and was cold. Overall, great hotel, just don't eat there!

This hotel was wonderful...great location near the rocks, circular quay and within walking distance all around town. The hotel room was great and the service there was the best. Highly recommend staying here if you get a chance, for sure we will be back to stay.

My husband and I had stayed at this site when it was an ANA hotel, and were very pleased with its location and relative price value. It is still the same excellent property now that it is a Shangri La, and I shall return to it whenever in Sydney. From front desk staff, to the concierge desk, to the housekeepers and maintenance people, all set the example […] of the best that Australia has to offer. My only surprise was that on check-in, my credit card had a $100 per day hold put on it for incidentals. Although I can understand this practice, it should have been explained to me at the time of check-in, and it was not. My sister and I thank everyone there for a wonderful stay. Leer más

very nice!!! what an awesome experience!!!

Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. We stayed 6 nights and on the morning of checkout our 4 year old son got an ear infection. The hotel recommended a fantastic doctor who even went to the trouble of contacting the airlines and got them to agree to change our flights back to San Francisco without a change fee. The hotel was also able to […] put us back in our same room for 3 more nights and the receiption desk even sent our son a hand made get well card and Shagri-la Kangaroo. The only slight negative for this hotel would be the number of stairs from Circular Quay if you are older or have a stroller, but not a problem if you are relatively fit. Leer más

We enjoyed the great views from our east facing room overlooking the Opera House and Circular Quay. The room and bed was very comfortable. We were a little disappointed that complimentary biscuits weren't provided on arrival to go with a cup of tea. Staff were very helpful and courteous.
