Todos los hoteles en Mission Valley - Old Town"A Quick Down and Dirty - Heavy on the Dirty"
Comentado por Jack, deSan Clemente, CA, el ene 6, 2010
Hotel was almost empty, but claimed they couldn't accommodate an early check in. The hallway had a dirty stale smell. The room was the same way; a slightly different stale smell. When we turned on the air to circulate around the room, another stale odor came from that as well. When we asked to get another room, they, again, claimed not to be able to accommodate our needs for a king bed or a bathtub. The greatest thing about our 1 hour stay there was the check out. Getting to another hotel was such a relief.

Our room was fantastic. The "Kid suite" with a seperate room for children, bunkbeds, and kid friendly furniture was wonderful. My husband and I appreciated the privacy, but felt the children were completely safe. Parking is challenging if you have a large SUV. We chose to park outside of the parking structure- and allow more door room. Pool was ok. towels were provided. Recommend higher floors to combat the noise issue (breakfast room is located on the 4th floor)

Excellent location for access to Sea World, Zoo/Balboa Park, Old Town, Downtown. Room was fairly quiet. Liked the two doubles suite and had a good rate. Weirdness of the suite - french doors with only thin curtain so lights & tv shined through. Wanted Grammie to have more privacy and stay up later than me and my 2 toddlers. Also, sink/hair dryer was right next to beds. Door only for shower/toilet. Breakfast was madness and very low-end continental buffet. AND on the last morning I was treated to a little cockroach around the vanity ... and we were on the 3rd floor ....

This was a great Hotel. Would stay there again. Only bad thing was the park at the end of road must of been the hang out for every homeless person in the area. You would see them walking down street all day. Also they would get into Hotel during free breakfest times and help themself to the a free meal. A little distrurbing.

Great location as far being central to everything. Of course you have to have a car in San Diego, so driving to downtown isn't a big deal. The hotel itself is certainly in need of an update, but for the price it isn't too bad. Be ready for lots of kids running around early in the morning.

all of their king beds were down because of "flooding" I booked a king bed room and they said they were all flooded when I arrived. Didn't upgrade me or compramize just gave me a 2 queen beds room. But otherwise the stay was good, just wished they hooked me up somehow. The elevators are awkward with needing a key to use though

Our stay at this hotel was great. Originally, we were supposed to just stay one night but we extended one more night because of our experience the first night. We all slept really good. Too good, that we almost missed the breakfast. Their breakfast was really satisfying that we had to be there both days we were at the hotel. Also, the modern design/furnitures made it inviting. The location of the place also is perfect. It's located a few miles from the Fashion Valley Mall and Old Town San Diego. We didn't even have to take the freeway. Overall, I'd say this is the best place I've stayed at in San Diego.

I was impressed with the pictures online, but once i got to the suite, it was small and felt cramped. The vanity area was right in front of the bed. I have never heard of a fee to park in the hotel premises, $10 a night. Roads were under construction so I was not too happy with the time spent to get to the hotel. And on top of it all i had a $50 charge on my card that i disputed. Breakfast area was spacious and bright.

We had a fine stay but the only thing that urked me was the fact that we had to pay $5/day for parking which I do not believe was indicated when we made the reservations. Our room was fine except that the previous guest's food was left in the refrigerator. When I asked to have it removed, it wasn't. I had to put it out in hall.

Although my stay was only one night - I experienced friendly staff and a clean and comfy room. For the price this is a great value, convenient to major freeways to get to Seaworld, downtown, etc. The hotel was quiet. I ordered food from Hunter's - adjacent to the hotel and although they wrote the wrong room number down when I called to find out where my food was they made me a new plate and gave it to me for free. I wasn't expecting to get the food comped so that was nice.

The kids loved the kids suite! Plenty of room for our pack-n-play for our one year old. Bunk bed great for 3yr old. The best part was the sliding door in between the rooms so we could watch tv without disturbing sleeping kids.Could have used a kids table and chairs instead of a desk but other than that it was just what we needed.

We stayed at this hotel for one night because it was close to the airport, and headed to a competing, much more expensive and "clssy" hotel in La Jolla the next day. If we return, we will only stay at Comfort Inn, and not bother with the so-called "nicer" competing hotel. The room was beautiful. We loved the breakfast, the suite, the access to a fridge, and the pool. Thank you

I viewed the pictures online before booking a room and I was really excited from what I saw. Upon entering the hotel I was disappointed. The hotel was in ok condition but felt dirty. We were put in a smoking room when I specifically asked for non smoking. The air conditioner did not work and we were hot the whole night. We asked for a crib for our baby and it took asking again and 2 hours before it arrived- too late for his nap. Just not a great hotel and paid way too much for what we got.

Any time we needed something we had it with in Minutes. Close to the Zoo and Sea World. The only down side is you have to pay for parking and there are no gas stations or fast food places close by. Overall a great place to stay, would stay here again.

The kid suites are great for traveling with youngsters. Be aware that the French Doors that separate you from the kids have sheers in the windows. Not too much privacy. Our in room movie system was broken for 2 days. Try explaining that to your 3-yr. old who wants to see "UP" - now. My room key stopped working after one day, during a week-long stay. With my hands full and a 3-yr. in tow, I had to wait in a long line at the front desk to get the key situation fixed.

Our "kids suite" worked out great for our family. Our kids are 7 and 4 and did great in their room with the bunk beds and their own TV. I wish more hotels had this type of layout - it doesn't take any more square footage, just requires an extra interior wall to divide the room in half and give everyone some privacy. The pool area was nice and well-maintained. The breakfast was decent but very crowded, just as the other reviewers said. The freeway noise might bother some people, but we all slept fine. The location is central to lots of activities. Overall this is a great hotel for families.

The hotel was literally falling apart. 2 or the 3 elevators were broken and we were on the 4th floor. Parking was an issue and I was not told that there was a daily fee for parking. The breakfast left much to be desired. Pastry, waffle, or an orange. Coffee was horrible, no healthy food options. The hotel was extremely loud at night and they charge for internet access which is uncommon these days. Kids Suite was nice to have but would prefer no bunkbeds as it is difficult to keep a toddler from wanting to climb the ladder and there was no way to remove or babyproof it.

I couldn't believe that hotel guests had to pay $5 to park in their tiny parking spots!! Also, if we came back to the hotel after 9:00, it was a chore to find an available space. The free breakfast was not what I had expected either. There were only muffins, cold cereal and milk, and danishes. And good luck getting in there after 8a.m. It was so crowded. We were better off going to McDonalds for breakfast. Lastly, the rooms were clean and newly remodeled but a little small. The bathroom vanity area should have been made bigger.

Our family stayed for three nights in this hotel. It was just okay! The rooms were decorated nicely, but small. We had the kids suite which was great for the kids. The rest of the room was rather cramped. It's an older property so the walls are VERY thin and you could hear everything and everybody out in the halls, upstairs and next door. We were woken up every morning around 5-6am by something or someone talking/slamming doors etc. The breakfast buffet is a complete joke. It's way too small to accommodate the number of guests staying at the hotel. We waited in a line out the door for the waffle station and a toaster not to mention trying to find a table to sit at. We only ate there the first morning and then went out to breakfast off site the next two mornings. It was not worth the hassle and crowds. Also our second night there my kids were looking forward to night swimming and when we got down to the pool it was closed for cleaning due to an "accident" earlier in the evening. They were very disappointed to say the least. The parking in the garage is very tight and crowded plus they charge you a nightly fee to park there which was not disclosed to us prior to booking the room. So plan for that added extra charge if you want parking. I probably wouldn't stay here again.

We were very concerned when we pulled up because the outside does not offer much to look at, but once we stepped into the lobby we could tell it had been completely renovated and was really nice. We reserved a two room kids suite and the adult side was kind of tight, but the kids loved their bunk beds and they had plenty of floor space to play. It was very updated, had a refridgerator and two tvs. Overall a very comfortable room. The continental breakfast was very crowded, but was in a very large breakfast room and items were continuously replinished and we always found a table. We did not use the pool but it looked nice as well. The location was very close to Old Town, Seaworld, the Zoo and two malls. Parking was tight, but they have a garage and it seemed easier to park in there than outside in the lot - there was more space in the garage to back out.

We weren't expecting much with the price that hotels.com was able to get us, but we were pleasantly surprised. Not only was our room really nice, we also got an unexpected couch. The breakfast is held in a huge room and had so many selections we never had to eat out for breakfast. One night our toilet clogged up, so in the morning I went down to report it. By the time I got back to the room, it was already fixed and ready to go. The only downside to the hotel would be the location in terms of public transportation. First off, there are two Comfort Inns, in the same general location, so it can be confusing on which is which. Second, the last bus from the Old Town Transit center leaves at 9:20 PM, so if you want to be out later than that, you'll need a taxi or to drive, as walking is not recommended.

We stayed here on our recent trip to San Diego and first of all we found it a little bit difficult to navigate around off the freeway and the parking lot was very tight. When we arrived to the hotel it was very clean and nice and the staff was very friendly. We needed a crib for our room and they brought that right up to us. The room was clean and the beds were pretty comfortable. The sofa bed was very much not comfortable, however. This hotel was great for the price compared to the surrounding areas, so if price is an issue and you won't be spending too much time in your room I would recommend this hotel. If you are staying for a long period of time and will be in your room quite a bit I'd say to find a more spacious hotel. We had the double suite by the way.
