Good deal on a weekend rate; nice staff

My husband and I decided to head to Philadelphia for a kids-free weekend. I found The Westin's location is great because it is close to a lot of historic attractions. I do recommend, however, that after you arrive at the hotel, leave your car there and either walk or take a taxi. With all the one way streets and such, it is much easier to get around […] by taxi. The Westin staff was extremely nice and helpful, very personable without seeming fake or it being forced. They were helpful with whatever we asked and even had some great recommendations as to where to eat or visit. Check-in and check-out was very smooth and easy. The room was very comfortable and clean. The westin hotel was the best hotel I stay at every in my life...the ppl there was very friendly....!!!

This is a very nice hotel and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very accomodating.

The Westin in Philadelphia was exactly as advertised online. Good location, great services and good shopping. Parking was very difficult and costly. But in all it was a good stay. Be warned about parking before traveling.

Staff were first rate and so were accommodations. Walking distance to several fine restaurants and shops. Gerri, the concierge, is fantastic! Managed to get us a great table for special birthday dinner at local steakhouse on a busy Sat night. Also surprised us with comp bottle of wine. We'll stay there again next time in Philly.

Our stay was really good. The valet service was great, though a bit expensive, and the staff was very friendly. Our room was nice and had a very comfortable bed!!! The bartender downstairs at the bar was attentive and the food and drinks were delicious. The location is convenient to many shops and restaurants. We walked everywhere we needed to go. The […] concierge made a reservation for us at Devon Seafood Grill, although when we arrived, they had no record of it :( We stayed out quite late and upon return, there was what appeared to be a homeless man sleeping in a chair near the elevators, which has a security cam, but no human security. As we headed up to our room, there were about 4 other young adult visitors running back and forth through the halls, angry and cursing at each other. Our overnight experience was otherwise restfull. The only criticism I have really is that some security may be required on each floor to assure that anyone who is not a guest is not sleeping in the lobby or that if other guests are becoming loud and belligerent, they can be dealt with accordingly. Lovely modern hotel with all the standard Westin accomodations-- heavenly bed, etc...-- at a great price. Parking is an issue. Valet is $50/night or self-parking in garage next door is $36/night.

Stayed 1 night at the Westin in a king size bed room with city view. Very friendly and accommodating front desk. The beds were very comfy and the location was great. You have to take an elevator to get to the lobby then another elevator to get to your room. Parking was a bit expensive.

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Phila. and within walking distance to almost everything. Shopping, museums, theater, restaurants, parks and nightlife. The service was excellent but the hotel is getting shabby and in need of renovations. Not up to Westin's usual standards.

Great location, close to attraction and really great prices. The rooms are clean, the lobby in the hotel is great and the staff are friendly. No regrets. downside...parking is gonna cost you.

This is a great hotel, just what we expected from a Westin hotel, clean, comfortable and very centrally located. There's underground parking that was a bit steep but convenient. But the hotel itself can't be beat! We'll be back.

We checked in @ 11:00 PM. There was nobody at the door to help with luggage. We had to carry 3 suitcases to the next floor to check in. Our first room had no water. We called the desk and were told there was water in the refrigerator. The refrigerator (and snack tray) were broken and empty. We changed rooms. Next room did not have a working clock or […] safe. My husband and I stayed at the Westin in December 2011. We had a great time and the hotel was really nice. The room was very beautiful and the staff were extremely nice and accommodating. My only complaint is that we did have a blood stain or 2 on our sheets which was really discusting but it was pretty small and the bed was huge so we just avoided […] it. The stay was enjoyable until an alarm sounded around 6am. The alarm and announcement lasted about 20 min. only saying an incident has occurred and not to use elevators nor stairs. Since we were awakened so early they could have at least let us know what was happening and if everything was ok.

Went here with my girlfriend this past weekend. The hotel staff was fantastic. Very welcoming and helpful when asking for things to do in the city. This also included the hotel cleaning maids, who were very kind. I stayed here for one night, and had a great experience. The staff was friendly and check-in went smoothly. The room was comfortable, modern, and clean. It had a nice view of the surrounding city buildings. The bathroom/shower were great with a double shower head. Overall I had a great experience and would stay again.

Nice property. Ridiculous $47/day valet fee. Hallway rugs could use deep cleaning. Room was great, location is amazing, bonus Krispy Kreme next door!

The Westin is a very nice property - well situated in center city. If you take the train or cab it -you will hve no worriesor complains. however -if you have acar, be prepared for the outrageous parking fees ($35-$43 per night). Hotel is located right in the center of the action, but on a Saturday afternoon during the Christmas season this also means lots of traffic. Lots of one way streets and we somehow missed the hotel our first loop, but didn't want to loop around in all the traffic again so we just parked in a garage and walked 2 blocks. I was blown away by how charming this Westin is -- one of the nicest I've ever stayed in. I may have to return with my husband for a long weekend!

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location with an excellent staff that I would definitely recommend but with two warnings. The first is that the "snack bin" in the room is an open electronic box next to the television wherein if any item is bumped or moved, there will be an automatic room charge. If I had had a child in the room with me I would have been furious with this unsavory ploy to sell expensive junk food. The hotel was in the centre of all things wonderful in Philadelphia. We were within walking distance of shops, restraurants, and pubs/clubs. We won't hesitate choosing this hotel again when we decide to travel to Philadelphia again.

Enjoyed a perfect stay in a clean hotel with a great location. Concierge added tremendous value with guidance, recommendations and arrangements. Would stay here again without hesitation.

The hotel is located only two blocks from the Suburban Train station (strange name for a downtown station, but . . . ). This is the station where the airport train arrives at and departs from every half hour. It is 20 minutes to the airport. The hotel is also close to the Rittenhouse Square district with shopping and restaurants and only a short walk […] to the older part of Philly. You can walk pretty much anywhere from this location. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed and efficient. The rooms are large and the amenities are excellent. Big fan of Weston Hotels in general, usually top notch service and the signiture beds are wonderful. THAT SAID ....this particular Weston in Center City was a real disapointment. …paid extra for "city view". All I saw out my window was an ally and a wall. Hotel is old and shabby for a Weston. The valet was incompitent and slow when getting my car, which […] I paid extra for. BEST nightmare was my girl and I getting woken on Sunday at 8 am with the lovely sounds of hammers and drilling in the hotel walls on our floor! My fiance had to sream down the hall like she was in an episode of the "honeymooners" to get them to stop. Of course no offer of compensation when we called the desk. The location was excellent; a good choice for walkable destinations and start of the holiday shopping season. Room services (and valet parking) were excellent as well. The room's bathroom could have used some extra scouring (tub and face bowl). The also need to snake their bath drains.

We stayed in Phili to run the marathon on 11/20/11. The hotel was perfectly situated near the starting line and along the running route. The hotel prepared a pre-race power breakfast for us in the lobby. The room was very spacious and modern. Great staff. Would stay here again.

Loved the location of this hotel, with proximity to other sites in and around Philadelphia. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

Other than the fact that it was overpriced ($30+ for 2 eggs, bacon, bread and fruit) the breakfast was disappointing because I had to toast my own bread. The whole point of room service was to have the food ready-maid and delivered to me.

This was a really nice hotel, the room was nice, clean, and comfy. The only thing I was not impressed with was the staff. They were really rude, and acted as though the group I was there with did not belong at the hotel...Just be sure to wear your best business suit if you want to be treated with any respect!

This hotel is nice, updated and in a great location. The front desk staff was nice and swifty checking us in. We had an issue with the heat and they sent someone up right away and fixed the problem. Overall everything was fine. Bar, lobby and lounge area was great equipped with tvs and fireplaces.

Needs an update, kind of shabby.
