El hotel esta muy bien puesto, con un decorado moderno y todo bien ambientado. El desayuno buffet muy bien.

Nice and comfortable hotel in the center of town. Nothing less, nothing more.

It was my first stay at Hotel Helka and it was pretty much as I expected based on reviews and feedback from friends. I only have two minow complaints: - the shower holder did not match the shower head, so in practise it was a hand-held shower, not very convenient when trying to wash your hair - the hotel was due to close for Christmas at 12 noon on […] 23 Dec, in practise it started to close down already earlier with renovation works etc. This also meant a reduced breakfast on the 23rd, with mainly high carb options available. But other than these two minor things everything was good and I've recommended Helka to other people. Leer más

Helka is a very good hotel, it's not luxury but it has all you can wish for in a hotel for a great price. Highly recommended.

Stayed here a few times. Single rooms are small but adequate. Helpful staff...The usual sauna faciliies for Suomi. Handy for bus station and major shopping / cinemas....have normally nice Finnish ale on tap too. Helpful staff and breakfast is plentiful sometimes cramped. Would recommend this hotel no worries....little bit remote on those -30c mornings […] but overall nice wee hotel and recommended too if you want bring the Wife or Partner....you won't get the cold shoulder treatment for booking this one!...although it's not the Sheraton ok! :-) Leer más

My single room was small but I expected that. Overall a good experience. I left my hat in the lobby at check in and the front desk staff tracked me down to return it. I'd definitely stay here again.

Although the hotel doesn't look anything special from the outside, it's very nice inside and the rooms are an adequate size. It was nice that they were decorated in an individual style too rather than the blandness that corporate hotels tends to be. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet had a fairly good selection. Helka is close to everything at a reasonable price. Tram line 3B/3T is one block away and gets you everywhere. The morning breakfast was extensive and outstanding. The rooms are a little small, very European style, but they are clean and the showers are excellent. I would stay again. Avoid the Helsinki Card (way overpriced). This hotel is centrally located in Helsinki. The most important sights are eaily reachable on foot such as the central railway station, Stockmanns department store and the harbour area. The Kampii shopping centre is just opposite. Tram 3T has a stop 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Very convenient for city centre and the main sights. We used it as a base for the Helsinki Marathon weekend - very easy to get to trams and buses, and the 15A bus to the Tallink terminal (for Tallinn) stopped just down the street. Decent buffet breakfast. Nicely refurbished. Helpful staff. Very good value.

Helka is clean and well organized. Rooms are not large, but are calm and furnished with Aalto chairs and tables. Good breakfast conditions, excellent location. Pleasant efficient staff.

The hotel is located within easy walking distance of downtown Helsinki in a quieter area. It was awesome that we could just walk back for a quick break from sightseeing in the middle of the day if we wanted to. But the pros end there. The hotel itself was more like something that would receive a 1.5 star rating here in the US - dirty room/bathroom, […] cheap quality breakfast (artificial watery scrambled eggs and fruit from a can), uncomfortable beds, etc. The staff were very sweet, although housekeeping never bothered to replace the toiletries. Worst of all, our "double" bed was 2 separate lumpy twin beds that moved apart at the slightest touch, making any, ahem, intimacy impossible. Leer más

my one-bed-room was tiny, bed was ok but not very comfy. could have been a little cleaner (found hair that didn't belong to me and there were stains on the mattress). still a convenient place to stay, good location, not too expensive, awesome breakfast buffet

The hotel is located very centrally, only a five minute walk from the railway station. The hotel is furnished with Artek and other Finnish design furniture and art. This was the reason I picked the hotel as I think it seems silly to stay in a chain hotel where the decor is the same whichever Nordic country you visit. The room was very spacious, the […] bed was great as was the bathroom. I had read in some reviews crticisms of the breakfast but I found it filling and with a good choice which changed slightly from day to day. I would however have two crtiticisms of the hotel, it was very hot in Helsinki when we stayed and our air conditioning even on full did not make our room cool, we could have kept the window open in the nights but unfortunately my second complaint was our window opened up onto a courtyard and the flat opposite our room had loud parties every night which meant we couldn't keep the window open. We stayed a few days in Tallinn which was wonderful and then took a fast boat to Helsinki for the pther 3 days. The city is very nice and extremely busy with tourists, mostly Russians and Japanese. The location of Helka is Ok about 10 minutes walk to the main shopping areas. The hotel is quite scruffly in places and could do with a bit of loving care. […] As for the rooms these are very basic and rooms can be very smoky. Another thing, this is a nation of big beer drinkers and smokers, fag ends everywhere! Breakfast is alos basic but very busy. Would we stay here again probably not as there are more central hotels which only costs marginally more. Leer más

Helka Hotel is a great value close to the downtown area of Helsinki. Breakfast is included and makes the price of the room an extremely good value. The staff was very helpful, spoke a number of languages, and spoke excellent English. The walk from the central train station was enjoyable and the neighborhood seemed extremely safe.

Excellent value, staff willing to go the extra mile to assist you, even offered to provide a to-go breakfast because we had to leave before the hotel complimentary one was open.

It's not every city in which a 3-star is a delightful, immaculate and nourishing stay, but Helka is that; Helsinki is that. Like a SoBe boutique hotel in Finland. At mid-summer, I noticed young Finnish couples staying there, and older (well-heeled) Finnish couples/groups eating in the excellent hotel restaurant, Helka's kitchen. Superb and gracious […] staff, nice design, a/c (yes, you need it in summer); fabulous breakfast buffet; complimentary sauna use, wifi, tv. As advertised, but nicely done. Quick walk to rail station, or 3T tram stops a block behind the hotel, one stop after Kamppi. Luxury for the budget-conscious. Leer más

My first impression was that its furnitures weren't as good as people and my guide book complimented. However, its service was excellent. Stuffs gave me detailed info about the town and accepted my sudden change to shorten the stay there. Plus, room cleaner didn't take my tips, which is probably a policy of this hotel.

Having designer furniture does not cover up the fact that our bathroom was dusty, the cushions on the couch were stained, and the paint on the walls & door have seen better days. Maintenance always trumps fashion. The front desk staff was beyond hospitable. We recommend going out for breakfast.

Helka is a great value. The location is a convenient walk to restaurants, shops, train station, etc. Rooms were very comfortable and clean.

Your staff were vere helpful and accomodating for 2 senior citizens from the USA: we had many questions that they were able to help us with. Also, the food at breakfast was excellent with a very good variety. If we were to come back, we would choose to stay again as your rates were pretty competitive.

I was pleasantly surprised at this hotel. I got more than what I expected for the low price I paid. The staff are very professional as well. I would recommend and I would stay there again. It has a nice location close to the Kampi shopping centre and public transport is nearby. Keep up the good work Helka.

I arrived later in the evening after most of the day travelling and was welcomed by the receptionist. He was very polite and my room was clean and ready for me. The rooms are small but well appointed and comfortable with a Finnish design flair. I only just made it to the buffet breakfast with minutes to spare and caught a glowering and very annoyed […] look from the waitress. There was no good morning and she made a point of hurrying to clear away anything I might have wanted to eat for breakfast. This is a nice hotel, very clean, service is good too. It offers wireless. The TV in the room is a computer, and you can use it to browse the internet. The onsite restuarant offers free breakfast and the lunch buffet is 8.50 euro (salads, good choices of bread, a soup and 4 hot dishes). The hotel also offers sauna for their guests between 7am to 7pm. […] The hotel is located about 10 min walk to the main train station, 15-20 min walk to the market square, 10 min walk to the Parliment building, and 7 min walk to the Rock Church. Most clever and modern interior and room design. Altough there are a lot of stairs to climb , Helka is a gem. It is quiet, breakfast and food exellent. Easy walking distance everywhere. Streetcars and subway near by. Most important is the balconies where smoking is allowed.

Very nice hotel. Affordable, clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was awesome. Never used the sauna but it looked pretty nice. Highly recommend. Lots of bang for your buck. Short walk to the train station.

Hotel is less than 5 minutes walking distance from the Metro, has a food store close by. In-room internet worked well. Room comfortable and clean. Pleasant and helpful staff.

this hip hotel not far from the central bus and train station in helsinki is full of charm and not to be missed. a fine restaurant and fun bar as well. close too to a cemetery and park on a waterfront peninsula and walkable to the harbor for stockholm and tallinn ferries as well. highly recommend even if tasteful rooms a tad small. nice shopping center […] nearby for the marimekko fans too. served by bus and tram lines so convenient locale. definitely will stay here next visit to helsinki, which has a lot going for it. Smart modern hotel fairly close to city centre and rail station. Friendly and helpful reception. The room was spotlessly clean and nicely furnished with excellent quality widescreen TV. Layout a bit unusual, such that you had to lie on your bed to watch TV, with the desk and storage area behind the TV. Great value for money. Very central. Lots of Finnish design - full of character and certainly more interesting than the run off the mill SAS rooms. For this price range, miles ahead of any other hotel.

Very comfortable room, with a well thought-out room arrangement and charming little details. Breakfast was copious. Easy walking distance to Kamppi shopping center and trams; reasonable walking distance to Mannerheimintie.

Beautiful, modern hotel with extremely friendly, helpful staff. Rooms are modern, neat, comfy and the large silk screen image hanging over the bed is a very unique touch. Breakfast is wonderful (not to mention included in your booking price, no extra fees) and there is plenty to go around. You are only one or two streets away from three major shopping […] centers (Kamppi, Stockmans and the Forum) not to mention the movie theater is right across the street. If you are looking for a hotel close to the city with friendly staff and a decent breakfast than they don't come better than this. Ok not the luxurious of city hotels but what it lacked in facilities it excellent in good staff. The bar has excellent fresh Finnish beer and knowledgeable staff. No-one told us the locals dissappear for Easter. The good news is it was quiet, the bad news is that shops and museums shut on the public holidays, and many restaurants were also closed. Hotel was well located - a ten min walk from downtown. Rooms were well appointed, albeit a bit small. Dinner at hotel was fine. Breakfast served in a depresing windowless […] room, with food clearly produced to a very tight budget. No fish of any kind dispite the fact that the area is famous for it. Watery scrambled eggs, and staff who did not engage with their customers. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, if not always accurate in thier advice (wrong location of a restaurant and bad information of a bus service to the factory outlet area). Sauna was out of service as being rennovated. Overall an attractive city, but very expensive! Leer más
