Todos los hoteles en Brooklyn"Average"
Comentado por Fiona, deNew Windsor, el nov 11, 2009
This hotel was nice - however, be warned, do not go anywhere near the smoking floor - it was overwhelming with smoke and smell. Unfortunately one of the people in our party had no option but to get a room on a smoking floor and it was difficult to sleep. The breakfast bar - a bit disappointing. however, Brooklyn does not have much to offer in the way of hotels - so if necessary, I would probably stay again.

This location bills itself as a "luxury", but it was ok-average. Not necessarily worth the price, if not for being the only hotel for miles.

Convenient to subway (2 blocks), but subway noise evident; windows do not open (for those who smoke or just want fresh air); Great bagels (continental breakfast otherwise average); safe & friendly neighborhood; lounge only open 5pm-10pm, Mon thru Sat. Overall, a pleasant place, and good value (especially at hotel.com rates).

After reading the reviews, I was slightly optimistic but concerned about staying at this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised! The hotel was clean, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the room was quite comfortable, and the distance to the train was perfect! My husband & I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to NYC!

This is the only hotel in this part of Brooklyn and so if you need to stay in the local area, the Gregory is your only choice. I gave it an average rating on all the questions the Hotels.com survey asked and that's how I feel about it. The neighborhood is okay, the rooms are sufficient and they do provide a very basic breakfast in the morning. The front desk service is not the greatest - for instance they forgot to book a car service for me and when the elevator broke down although it was fixed fast, they forgot to go to all the floors to remove their signs saying the elevator was malfunctioning. To eat I suggest you walk a block over to 3rd Avenue where there is a nice selection of good Italian places. There is no restaurant in the hotel but there is a bar. I stopped in the bar one evening to grab a delivery menu from one of the local restaurants and the bartender was taking a personal call on the phone (something about if she had to go to a party or not) and was ignoring me. I finally walked out.

I had a very bad experience in this hotel. I have arrived at 11 p.m. on 09/25/09 to find a woman in the reception area that could not care less about a family of 4 peoples. The first thing she asked me was : Sir, will charge you 25 dollars for vallet parking and if you do not take your car by early morning the next day, we will charge you another 25 dollars. The second thing is: I suppose to take keys for 2 rooms i have reserved. She give me only keys to one room in the 4th floor. I had to go down for the second set of keys , to find out that she give me a room in the 1st floor. Guess how much they charge me for parking my car.....50 dollars. Please, do not use this bad hotel.

There are surprisingly few place to stay in Brooklyn. This is a good one--reasonable price, small but comfortable room, good neighborhood, friendly service, and a pretty good breakfast. With luck you can find onstreet parking but may have to move car rather early in the morning for street cleaning or something (be sure to read the signs).

Staying at this hotel helps on get a glimpse of the real neighborhoods in which New Yorkers live, even up to and including the subway ride into Manhattan. There are many nice restaurants and interesting stores in the area. My only real complaint came when we checked in when the little woman at the desk was brusque about checking me in, muttering something about the computers being down and no rooms being available. Having just endured the train trip in from Boston I was, needless to say, extremely tired and did not appreciate the close to 45 minute wait I had to endure. I also had some problems with getting the TV to work correctly. All in all this is a way to stay in a real hotel room at rates that comparable hotels in Manhattan cannot touch.

Everything about the hotel was wonderful. The staff was went over and above and was very helpful. Though I didn't have time to explore the area, we seemed to be in the middle of a restaraunt and shopping area. The subway was a short walk and convenient.

This hotel was a convenient stay for us as we dealt with a deceased relative's apartment. Tiffany, who is often at the front desk is so pleasant and fun...and Darlene, the bartender was also fun and helpful with an excellent restaurant recommendation...Zio Toto...if you go there have the beet gnocchi...the best ever.

Visiting our daughter who lives in south Brooklyn we wanted a hotel 10 munutes walk from her home. We found the Gregory much pleasanter than we expected and a good friendly base for a 3 day stay. There are local cafes but if you want more touristy restaurants and shops then you will need to get on the R train for a 15 minute ride to central Brooklyn.

We were in town for a difficult mission, but we always happy at the end of the day to return to a clean, friendly hotel. The evening staff were particularly nice. The morning breakfast was good: some days hard-boiled eggs, always toast, coffee, muffins, pastry, bagels, cereals and fresh fruit. The room was quiet and the beds comfortable...what more can you ask.

There are surprisingly few places to stay in Brooklyn--or places where one would want to stay. This is a good one. Room was small, but that's okay. Could be cheaper. Good neighborhood and close to subway. Parking is a problem ($25 overnight) but we found on-street spaces both nights. Breakfast was basic but adequate. Friendly staff.
