Hotel Mark Twain, a C-Two Hotel

no es lujoso, pero tiene todo lo necesesario para una estancia comoda, y una localización excelente, cerca de powel, de market, del BART y de union square

Nos habiamos hospedado varios dias en un hotel boutique de mayor categoria para un evento, y posteriormente nos trasladamos a este hotel para visitar las ciudad por mas tiempo. Por ser de menor estrellas y precio, nuestras espectativas no eran muy altas pero vaya sorpresa! El personal de front desk fue amable e ingeniosa para solucionar problemas (Elvis) […] y el bartender (Derek?) muy amigable y platicador. Ubicado muy cerca de las mejores tiendas para ir de compras y cerca de todos los transportes (cable car, muni, bart). Y justo a un lado del hotel, esta el Taylor street cafe que aunque es apenas un cafe, sirven uno de los mejores french toast que hemos probado... y los eggs benedict no quedan atras! Leer más

Cuando llegamos al hotel no habia nadie quien nos pudiera ayudar con el equipaje. Al día siguiente estaba el botones muy amable y era el unico que hablaba español en el hotel. Hizo de guia turistico, nos recomendo lugares para ir, y demas, la verdad es lo unico que tiene de bueno el hotel!!! No estaba limpia la habitacion, habia comida debajo de la […] cama, confites, etc. Solo hay un ascensor para 8 pisos, y estuvimos bastante tiempo esperando para tomarlo cada vez. .La puerta del ascensor cierra rapidamente y no lo vimos en muy buenas condiciones.... La recepcionista nos contrato un tour en ingles cuando nosotros queriamos en español, y 5 minutos antes de tomarlo, gracias al Elvis, el botones, que hablaba en español, pudo cambiarlo por un tour multilenguaje. Se escuchaban los ruidos de la habitacion de al lado. Esta a 3 cuadras de la Av principal lo cual eso esta bueno. La cuadra donde esta el hotel no es linda, hay mucho homeless. No nos dieron comprobante de la devolucion del dinero que nos tomaron de seña con la tarjeta de credito, ellos dijeron que lo habian acreditado, aun no averigue si fue así. Es dificil regular la temperatura del agua para ducharse. En el 8° piso se escuchaban muchos ruidos de la calle y del hotel. Es caro el restaurant del hotel, y las computadoras que estan en el lobby son muy lentas, y no hay WIFI, si queres usar internet en la habitacion te lo cobran! Leer más

Todo bien, hotel bien ubicado, limpio y con buen servicio

Maravilloso. los empleados muy amables y atentos. La habitacion muy comoda. El vecindario de la calle Ellis hacia abjo es regular, pero uds lo advirtieron

Cozy and comfortable. Other than the long wait for the vallet parking, the hotel was great.

Good location just a few blocks from Union Square, hidden away a little with no fanfare but it's a solid Hotel which if you can get it for a reasonable price is recommended. You can tell it's going to need a refresh in a few years but for now it's a solid option for a few days in S.F.

Great service, kamel is the best and very friendly! Only downside was the small rooms

I've stayed here a couple times. The location is decent, but sort of on the edge of the tenderloin, so the neighborhood gets sketchy within a few blocks. The hotel itself is decent, but nothing to write home about. It's definitely older feeling. Walking distance to Union Square, the Cable Car, Bart and multiple MUNI stops! 1. Women, try not to stay here by yourself as the surrounding neighborhood to the West and South is questionable during the evening. 2. If you plan on sleeping in it most likely will not happen as you can hear the plumbing of any adjacent room. 3. The staff are very kind and accommodating. 6. If you are flying the hotel can arrange for a shuttle to pick you up and take you to whichever airport needed for a nominal fee. Great Locations to Shopping and Theater

very old room , lots of noise . could not sleep because of the heater noise and next room noise. bad smell in the rooms and hallways. the only good thing in this hotel was the front desk personal. they were very nice but they did not have any better room to give us. the owner of this hotel should do a major renovation because the location is ok but […] the hotel is old. should be downgrade it to 2 star. will not stay there again. I did not get to sleep well, because I could hear the people in the next room till 2am in the morning laughing loud and talking loud.

Pro: Hotel is located very close to union square and bart/muni station. Yummy breakfast and lunch place next door. Con: Service was just ok. Front desk staff not very willing or helpful. Location is on the border of a rough neighborhood.

For the money, not a terrible deal relative to other opportunities in the area at the time i booked. That said, and having stayed in a number of other hotels in the area, I would likely spend a little more and stay elsewhere. Thin walls and doors led to very noisy evenings, the workout facilities were very small and equipment substandard, the single […] elevator is very small and very slow, a little too close to the dicey Tenderloin area for me and the older man outside a few yards away smoking a crack pipe and yelling at me that i was a "dog of sat*n" didn't give me the warm and cozy's. For the price of the hotel it was very dingy. Small rooms. Hotel needs a major renovation.

i booked this room 2 weeks before New Years Eve. THe photos made this hotel look very nice and well presented. However when we arrived the hotel was not a bright and clean as the pictures showed. Our room was nice enough but the lights in the bathroom keep turning off and on, the walls were a bit thin and we could hear the other guests partying and […] showering and such. The staff was friendly and worked hard. It was basically an old building in a good location. Everything was perfectly adequate, it just wasn't shiny and new. It was a good value.

Walking distance to theaters, shopping, bars, bart, restaurants.... Hotel room was small, but sufficient, clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful! They didn't just give us directions to places, they printed out maps, suggested restaurants and printed out reviews for each one. We will definetly go back!

Very nice hotel, friendly people and close to Union Square :) I would definitely recommend it !

The hotel staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable. The hotel is older, but the beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms, while small, have everything you need. I did feel creeped out a couple of times walking through the neighborhood at night, though.

i was quite surprised by the hotel as the prior reviews remarked that the location was ideal. there are many more hotels closer to Union Square and far from the cautious atmosphere of the neighborhood. walking at night is not an option as we were approached by many individuals who made us feel uncomfortable. the hotel staff is extremely helpful and […] accomodating but our room had noisy radiator, broken hairdryer and slow draining sink/showers. we moved a few blocks and found a great hotel at the same price without the above problems or the dangerous neighborhood. It is only 5 mins from Powel street but if you ask for a room facing the inner yard, you can forget you are in the center of the city. The staff was kind and informative. The hotel amenity was sufficient. The quality of the hotel is very good for the price if only the carpet look more cleaner.

I walked into this hotel and was disgusted. I literally walked into the room and left. HORRIBLE! This hotel was dirty beyond cleaning. Luckily, there was vacancy across the street.

bathroom in miserable condition and the heater was not working and was the only room available. So not the best night of my life.

Located on the border of the financial/shopping area and Tenderloin with 2 homeless shelters within a block of the hotel. Kind of sketchy to be walking at night. Clean rooms, great service juxtaposed with tiny elevator and having to listen for toilet flush to avoid being scalded in the shower. Would consider but would probably not be a first choice […] . When we arrived it was extremely clean. I stayed in two different rooms because I had a reservation under my friends name and my name. The room under my friends name had a bad shower head but the upgrade we had was nicer. SHower head was nice but the walls are thin. Very close to Union Square however if you go in the other direction its not the best […] area. Leer más

For being a dated hotel it was comfortable. Rooms are small as well as closet and bathroom but you can't expect anything bigger in a hotel of it's age. It was clean. Service was great. No Air Conditioner BUT TRUST ME YOU DON'T NEED ONE. I was worried at first but had to grab for blankets when the sun went down. Didn't wake up sticky or hot. Didn't […] even notice I didn't have one.
