The Rose Ballroom seats 2,000 for entertainers such as Clint Black, Chris Isaak, and Wynonna Judd. The Casino Cabaret features jazz, blues, and rock and roll. Live jazz artists play in the Orozko Lounge and dancing to a live DJ is offered in Trader Dick's.
Entertainment every weekend includes headliners such as Lyle Lovett, the Oak Ridge Boys, and Hall and Oates, as well as boxing matches and other events. The 700-seat Celebrity Showroom offers classic seating in booths tiered down to the stage.
Beginning on one side of I-80 and running under the freeway to open onto downtown Sparks' central plaza, the casino supplies 85,000 square feet of slots, video poker, keno, blackjack, craps, roulette, poker, and other table games. One level below the casino are sports and race books, with the race book featuring desks illuminated by green-shade lamps. A tile path leads around the casino to restaurants. This was my first time staying at The Nugget. Hotel staff were friendly, room service was timely/food was ok ( a bit pricey), the room decor is a little outdated but comfortable, and the casino seemed ok for the short time I spent in it. I also went to the salon for a facial. I thought it was mediocre and a bit overpriced for the quality of the facial […] ($85 for a full facial). A great place to bring the kids when it's cold and snowy outside, the pool, the kids will spend all day in the pool and sleep all the night. Just make sure the pool is open!

Hotel room was clean, and door between two rooms opened so we could spend more time with family in the morning. The food at Trader Dick's was not as good as we hoped, next time we will try the Oyster Bar. The employees we talked to have all be with the hotel for 10+ years which said a lot for how they are treated.
"Reno- Many Casinos looking tired"
The Nugget is just one of many in Reno that look their age. The place is clean and fine if they give you a good rate. I travel to Reno often to visit my kids and stay at many of the casinos b/c of the rates. Most could use an update.

The room(s) were wonderful. The problem is that no matter what side of the hotel your room is in, you hear either freeway noise or railroad noise. We had a blast in the casino and the resturant/bar. We danced to great bands and DJ's. But, we live in a very quiet community and could not sleep because of the freeway and railroad noise.

We stayed overnight to do some marathon Christmas Shopping. Got a very nice room for an awesome rate. Had dinner at the oyster bar (yummy), We probably stay there several times a year. They have lots of events. The rib cook off is one of our favorites. Would definitely recommend it. Fun place to be!

Went there because I remember the old commercial about the pool, and I did love the pool, but the rooms were completely out of date. Like going to my Grandmothers house and her not having gotten new furniture since the late 60's early 70's. THe bed was old and not supportive. Did enjoy the buffet it was good food and I felt like rolling out of there. […] Valet was nice and quick to help. The one person working behind the counter seemed uninterested in helping anyone, with three of us sitting in line and really not understand if she was actually doing anything or on a break or what. This is a great place to stay if you want to Ski at Mt Rose but want to avoid the bustle of downtown.I would have preferred if the Hotel had more shows - Nutcracker was being performed on one of the nights but I missed that. There was good choice of restaturants - especially given that I am a vegetarian. The nugget is clean, updated and just an overall great place to stay. The bed are so comfortable and roomy. Unlike other places that I've stayed the casino actually pays, I always win at the nugget! My niece LOVES the pool with the waterfall feature! There is no doubt that I will be back!

This is an ideal hotel away from downtown. Transportation routes to anywhere in Reno/Sparks areas are ideal. Quality room that is clean. Staff are friendly. Only complaint is that the check-in area is subject to cigarette smoke. Check in was too slow. The pool was very nice, enclosed with plenty of lounge chairs. Our room was comfortable and clean. Within driving distance to Scheels and several restaurants. We would stay here again.

This is a decent hotel located 3 exits from down town Reno. It is directly accross the street from railroad yard. You can hear some noise, but it is limited. The room it East Tower was nice. Front desk was a very helpfull and we were given late checkout (2 pm Vs 11 am) for free just by asking if it was available. This hotel has large indoor swimming […] pool. However if you are planning to swim, best to do so 3-5 PM, after 9PM to closing and 6 am to about 9 am. The rest of the time, the pool is a ZOO. We ate at Rosie's Cafe, not going back again. Service was marginal and food was worse. There is strong smike odor all over the hotel lobby as well as restaurant. but this is typical to all Hotel Casino's in Reno and etc. They have yet to learn about second hand smoke. In general this was good place to stay considering it was substantially cheaper then the competition and had a warm pool as an additional ammenity. Leer más

the pool seems to have a problem. Have stayed twice and both times all parties who went swimming had rashes afterwards. Also, main pool too cool and kids under 12 aren't allowed in jacuzzi.

Hotel service was rude, the elevators were in very poor condition with the panels coming off the board where you have to insert your room key, valet service was terrible.

As usual the property was good as ever. The only down fall is the noise from the train and the unloading of shipment crates. Have stayed on both sides of motel and by far the interstate side is much more tolerable. The Nugget is our motel of choice at least 8 weekends a year.

Been staying here for many years - beginning right after the first tower was built. A comfortable, yet classy place that reflects the old-time pride of family ownershiip one used to find in several Reno area clubs. Best hotel restaurants in the area. We had a wonderful & fun stay. It was a great way to celebrate the new year. You had so many choices of activities and you didn't have to leave the hotel.

We stopped at the Nugget on our way home from Nebraska and had a wonderful stay. they people, room, food and gaming was excellent and I would love to stay there again. I liked it much better than when we stay in downtown Reno. thank you for making the last night of my vacation so nice!

The hotel is right next to the train tracks and there were trains going by all night. It was very loud and kept waking me up. We were in the East tower on the 16th floor. I'm not sure if being in the West tower or on a higher floor would have helped or not.
