Beds REALLY need to be improved. Noise from other rooms also a problem. Staff is wonderful.

First visit to the hotel, and I was really impressed with the size of the guest rooms, service of the staff and how well the fitness center was furnished. I paid a very reasonable rate for a King room which was large, beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. It feels a bit like an ex-motel trying to be a boutique hotel, but you can't argue with the rates sometimes offerred and everyone working there was helpful and friendly.

Been staying here every time I come back to visit my old home of LA. I cannot say better things about this place from the valet guys to the front desk- amazing. Great service -- we got upgraded to a suite without charge -- and the nicest and most helpful staff. I can't recommend this enough, and will be coming back for future stays.

First off: this is a beautiful property, the staff we dealt with were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. It's a great place to stay if a visit to the Getty Center is part of your trip. The fare at the hotel restaurant was very good and priced quite fairly. Three things keep me from giving a perfect review, one of which may not affect your visit: 1) […] While we were there, overnight construction work very close by was EXTREMELY LOUD in the time between 1 and 3 a.m. when you might like to sleep. When we checked in we were told we were being upgraded to a junior suite, which was a great room, but exposed to the construction noise. I don't know whether the "upgrade" was a desperate attempt to fill that room, or whether the fact that the booking was available on Hotels.com in the first place was because of the construction. I have to say, we would not have stayed here if we had known how intrusive the noise would be (jackhammers--lots and lots of jackhammers). I'm not sure how much the hotel staff knew about how loud the work would be. The front desk was kind enough to waive the room service charge for our breakfast after I complained, gently, about the noise. 2) The hotel is located in two buildings...we were in the spa building, uphill from the main building with the front desk and the restaurant. Getting back and forth is a bit inconvenient, at least we thought that way. 3) While the location is convenient for a lot of attractions--not too far from the beaches, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and of course the Getty--there are no restaurant or shopping options real close by, certainly not within walking distance. Your feeling about that may vary. I've stayed at this hotel several times in the past couple years, our daughter goes to UCLA and it's very close to the campus. Usually I have a great experience and rate this hotel 5 stars but not this time. There is a tremendous construction project going on at the Sunset Blvd/405 Freeway where this hotel is located and it's been a small hassle in […] the past, but tolerable. We had been to Parent's weekend at UCLA and went to many functions and on this night we were coming back to the hotel at midnight. The construction crew blocked the only intersection allowing you to get to the entrance to the hotel, we tried a different route, causing us to drive for 20 minutes around it and the other side was blocked as well! I was extremely frustrated and exhausted driving all around LA to get back into the hotel and finally stopped a police officer who had me turn on my hazard lights and travel in the wrong direction down Sunset Blvd to get to the entrance of the hotel! The next morning I called the front desk to ask why wouldn't the hotel give its guests a heads up about the literal BLOCKING of the two entrances to the hote?. Josh answered, and was not the least bit interested in my dilemma. He said "why didn't you go through the back?" I said "I didn't know there was a back " he says, "did you call the hotel for directions?" Really Josh? If I didn't know there was a back entrance why would I call for directions to the back entrance? This was infuriating and I have to wonder why the hotel, knowing full well this construction is going on, would not give its guests a map as a heads up! If I did not know my way around Brentwood I would have been hopelessly lost at midnight in LA. The next morning we had to check out and had an event at UCLA at 9:30. At 9:00, I called the front desk - unfortunatley Josh answered again. I asked him to send a bellman to our room, my elderly mother and I sat there and waited for 20 minutes and no bellman ever showed up. (there is no elevator) I final Leer más

I've stayed at the Luxe several times now. Despite the location right next to the 405 freeway, it's always quiet, dignified, elegant and comfortable. The rooms are well-appointed. The food is good and the atmosphere warm and conducive to doing business or relaxation. The only downside is that the parking is valet-only. The Luxe seemed to us a ***** hotel. When we arrived there was a crew of parking staff that took our car to the parking lot. It was a bit strange for us because we're used to park by ourselves. Nice staff at the reception. We received a refreshing towel and a voucher for a free wine or a cappuchino. Big, modern room with two queen size beds and a […] balcony to sit outside. The view to the garden (a steep meadow) at the back of the hotel was nice. It was quite quiet there. We only heard people going to there rooms. As usual doors are thin... The hotel was one of the most modern and newest hotels that we've booked. It has it's price. And breakfast isn't included. We drove to West Hollywood which is a 20 minute drive away to get something. There was also a coffee maker in the room and a mini bar. One time we've ordered breakfast to our room. Usually we've paid the same price for a whole dinner and got more food... There was also a hotel shuttle bus available (3 mile circle or to the upper hotel area). The hotels not far away from Sunset Plaza (Clubs, Restaurants, Shopping), Hollywood, Beverly Hills is just around the corner, Getty Center). This property is in a fabulous locale as everyone else has made comment before me. From the pool you are looking at the back of the Getty Museum! The shuttle is great, the employees from the lovely concierge to the exceptional bellman are worthy of a five-star hotel. The restaurant is well priced and quite good (particularly for hotel fare) with excellent […] service, just like the rest of the staff. However... yes they need a re-model. The rooms are HUGE for a city hotel and that is their saving grace. The dark taupe walls may be the height of fashion, but should not be used everywhere from the corridors to the bathrooms to the bedrooms. It is just too dark, dreary and too much for low hotel lighting. The hallways just give you a weird unsettled feeling and the contemporary oriental shades on the lights are all out of kilter making it look like a backstreet geisha district at night :) The pool area has some beautiful cabanas but the pool is sooo small and the coping on the pool needs an update.I am an interior designer and know these days that this sort of thing goes by the wayside... but some of us notice. That said the positive outweigh the negative and because of the service, food quality, and location, we still were very pleased. Leer más

Thsi hotel gives you the feeling of being somewhat seculeded although being in the LA area. The staff was excellent, the food was very good also. the only concern was parking. Valet can be expensive.

I was WOWed by the drive in area and the lobby. I mean WOW. Very cool hotel in the Brentwood Bel Air area, but it had drawbacks after that. My main two complaints were: 1. My bath drain was way too slow. Basically that means you're standing in your own dirt for the shower because it will puddle up. 2. On one day I called the front desk at 7:45am and […] asked for room cleaning service before 9:30am. The front desk guy said "Il try". I'm sorry, but an hour and 45 minute warning is plenty in my book. It's the normal time they would start cleaning rooms anyway. The result was they didn't get to it in time. One other small complain was that I had friends visit me and each one had to vallet for $$$. Kind of a bummer. Leer más

Service by everyone I encountered during my stay was great! The only complaint I have is the bath tub fittings were hard to adjust and I had to be careful that I didn't get scalded by very hot water.

We were delighted to be upgraded to a junior suite. There were always many staff members at the front desk as well as at valet parking, so we never had to wait for any service, which was excellent. Everyone was very pleasant and eager to assist us. Since we were just a short distance from the Getty Center, we were pleased to have someone take us there […] and pick us up right on schedule. A lovely hotel in a great location, although the hotel is very nice and comfortable, the most stellar part is the terrific, friendly, and helpful staff.

The Luxe is a great hotel if you need to stay in Beverley Hills/Santa Monica area. Nice rooms (small closets though). Great pool. Lovely spa. Only drawback is the restaurant/room service. Bad food, and seriously overpriced.

Very convenient to the freeway and Getty Museum. Very pleasant public areas. Staff very attentive with courtesy transportation to the Getty.

We spent 5 nights after flying in from Australia in this little oasis and were delighted. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, delicious late night burgers on room service (jet lag), super-friendly staff and quiet. We indulged in a delicious Sunday brunch buffet with seafood, crepes, omelettes and all manner of good things and listened to lovely jazz as […] we ate. Excellent cappuccino ( although somewhat variable) for those who need their coffee fix. They have a courtesy shuttle which will take you anywhere in a 3 mile radius, which means over to UCLA, Westwod Village or the Getty Centre amongst others and collect you when required. The only down side is that valet parking is expensive and a bit irritating for those like us who forget things in the car, but the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The Hotel is really close to the 405 but there is no noise in the room, we were in the lower level building. The pool is lovely but we were too busy enjoying LA to use it. It is up the hill so handy for those staying in the upper building, no so much for those down below. Leer más

My son and I stayed here while attending "Bruin Day" for admitted students at UCLA. It was close to UCLA and very quiet and comfortable. If my son decides to enroll, I am sure I will be staying here again for parent weekends!

We chose the hotel on Sunset Blvd becusee clients of ours said it was convenient to where they lived for breakfast. Right off the 405 in a desirable area - a hidden oasis that you would nver know was there. Quiet, elegant tasteful, excellent food good bar and pleasant pool with roomy cabana like tents. we were only in town one night for business and […] it was the perfect businessman's hotel. Tee rooms are huge with lovely balconies, flat screen tv's FREE INTERNET everywhere and roomy bathrooms. OUtside patio was nice for 5 o'clock cocktails. Even got in some star sighting since there was a press junket there for 2 days for a new movie with Dennis Quaid about the one-armed surfer girl. Lots of activity but very quiet at night when you go to sleep. Quite the happening place. there was live music in the bar and a barteneder that made great drinks! bar food menu was very good too. The service was incredible. Never experienced anything like it in all my travels. Really 5 star service. Leer más

The only real negative to the hotel was houskeeping. Although the room was cleaned everyday, small things were left uncompleted. I stayed for 4 nights. Each night somehting wasn't appropiately restocked. Either it was towels ( hand or bath), coffee or condiments for the coffee, each day I would find mysef without those porducts being replaced.

This was an excellent hotel to stay in on the west side. I was on personal holiday and eveything was perfect. People were very friendly, the hotel was immaculate. Since it is a city hotel, you had to pay for parking but this is to be expected. I would stay there again.

Rooms are big. But hotel is loud, noisy. Can hear people talking in adjacent rooms and in hallway. Biggest disappointment was outdated bedding/beds. I'm a frequent traveler, and most hotels have more comfortable, plush beds and linens Stylish design and decor, but worn. Convenient to freeway and UCLA campus. Professional, courteous staff.

Searching quickly for a 4 stared hotel near a friend in Brentwood I found Luxe. Honestly I was a bit cautious, as as a few reviews were not great. Well, I am happy to say the staff were very professional and attentive. The entrance of the hotel and the room were like the small boutique hotel feel, with the difference of a very spacious room. The hotel was great! It is modern and clean and fresh and welcoming! We would stay there again for sure. The only 'negatives' I would mention are that they have a small fitness room and it's in a separate building. Also, we ate dinner in the hotel one night and the food was only about a 7/8 out of 10. Otherwise, it was great.

this is a two or three story hotel with a convenient entrance directly off the 405 freeway. we needed something that was close to my daughter at UCLA, and this fit the bill, beautifully decorated and excellent customer service. we've stayed here before and we will stay here again. Strongly recommend this place. Very service & customer satisfaction oriented.

My husband and I were in town for business and chose this hotel for it's location. We enjoyed a complimentary glass of wine in the bar and also happy hour. If I were to say anything negative it was that the little lady that works in the gift shop was very rude and anti social and sold me a 100 year old bottle of nail polish. This hotel is in a great area and the restaurant and bar are awesome. Beautiful grounds and great service. The rooms are in need of a re do. The bathrooms are tiny and feel old. I guess I will take the trade of nice common area and hope the rooms get done soon. I will stay her again, great location!!!

Reallly the best value for a LA 4 star hotel with a tennis court. UCLA is just over the freeway. Will stay again.

The hotel was in a great location next to Westwood and Santa Monica. The room was attractive and the bed comfortable. The air conditioning did not work well so the first night was pretty uncomfortable. It worked q bit better the next night. The hotel is veer nice at first glance, but the closer you look the more small flaws you notice - paint peeling […] from bathroom doors, as an example. The Luxe Hotel is a fantastic hotel in a city of great hotels! The location - off the 405 - is perfect. The staff are very nice and could not be more helpful. In addition, the grounds and rooms are beautiful - there are lovely places outside to sit and relax. The pool area is quiet and just big enough. We will definitely return!
