Metropolitan Hotel

I'll be brief. The rooms are dark and outdated. The shields to the electrical outlets were pulled out and left on the floor. The bathtub grout had black mold. It needs some basic updates.

I must admit that this hotel seemed a bit more glamorous when reading about it online than actually seeing it in person. Although there are no gross problems, it was somewhat generic without the kids of amenities that I was expecting from the reviews. I visited friends at other hotels while in Toronto and found their rooms to have more and better amenities […] and upkeep. The Metropolitan is not bad, but it's not great either. Leer más

The big problem is rooms are divided by a flimsy door with no insulation. I got some noisy neighbors and the management refused to do anything about it. Eventually they sent security to talk to these guys. What was beautiful is that I could here the security guy telling them that the pain in the butt guest next door was complaining!

This hotel is expensive and it looks like one -- certainly inside the lobby. However, my room was way too small with no microwave or fridge. Breakfast was not included which was a great inconvenience. But it saved me a lot of time and commute due to its great location. Good downtown location, great value.

I was very pleased with this hotel. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and it served it's purpose. It's not the "swankiest" hotel out there but I wasn't in TO to hang out in my room! Not going to lie. Did not know what to expect. Considering bad experiences with other hotels...but really pleasantly suprised. :P

Nice hotel, complimentary newspaper, location close to many city centre attractions. Has reasonably-priced parking, but parkade is pretty tight. In-hotel restaurants are overpriced and overrated.

Convenient for downtown, close to art gallery, CN tower, Yonge Street. On-site Chinese restaurant was very good. Overnight parking quite expensive (as usual in city centre hotels).

Great hotel and somewhat in the middle of the Nuit Blanche. Wish it had closer access to the subway system. Besides that it was a great hotel and great staff! No troubles at all!

The Met is a wonderful place to stay - great rooms and service. The only exception is that they still have smoking rooms which I unfortunately got stuck in on my last stay - don't know if this is standard practice still for hotels - but these rooms should be removed overall. A very comfortable, clean and quality hotel that I would certainly recommend to others.

Hotel was clean but rooms really small, had to pay for parking21.50$ and break fest 22.50$ only good thing about metro hotel was it was located in the downtown core you can walk anywhere

The waiter at the bar on the ground floor was very unprofessional. When we spoke to the restaurant manager, he too lacked in his communication skills and could care less about customer satisfaction. I would not go back to this hotel.

The room smelled musty and smokey. We switched rooms and that one smelled the same. The bed smelled like dirty hair. The picture on the Internet is a horrible example of what the room really looked like. The room was pastel blue and our friends room was baby pink. It was close to china town so I get the decor they where going for but not my style at […] all. I felt like I was at a Chinese restaurant. The bed was hard. WOW! great hotel! wonderful service and location!

The hotel was in a great location for walking to the destinations we wanted to see. Only one thing is that the lobby is great and modern but the room was a little outdated but very comfortable. Besides we didn't spend to much time in the room since we were on vacation.

Still a nice hotel, but decor is becoming outdated. Saw a sofa with holes in the lobby.

People and service were good. The room was fairly shabby and in poor repair. Bathroom was really small and couldn't accomondate many toiletry items. This hotel could use some updating! I loved the location as it was walking distance to King and Queen Street, malls shopping etc.

I love the Metropolitan. I have stayed here many times and the rooms are always comfortable. Great bedding like the Sheraton's. Best rooms service in town, food is great and delivery is prompt. 5 minute walk to the Eaton Center and pretty much right downtown , 1 minute from the corners of Dundas and University. The motel is adequate. The parking garage is terribly narrow and difficult to navigate. The surrounding neighborhood leaves a lot toe desired. The staff is pleasant.

This downtown hotel offers excellent value for the money. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The hotel was well staffed and the staff were professional and courteous. The hotel also had two well reviewed restaurants (did not try) on site. I plan to stay here again.

I have stayed at the Metropolitan several times and found the staff very welcoming, businesslike and informative. Nothing is too much to ask of them. Better and better every time.

The Metropolitan Hotel in Toronto is a gem within the downtown area. It is a clean well run modern hotel with all the necessary amenities. The location is its biggest selling point as it is minutes away from many of the cities best attractions. The Eton Centre, CN Tower, Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery, Hockey Hall of Fame, Queen & King St. West areas, […] and the theatres are all within walking distance of the hotel. In addition, the airport express bus service stops across the street from the hotel. It is now my hotel for Toronto!!! Leer más

The staff are very helpful, the room was clean. The location was very good being right downtown. Walking at night seemed safe. The television was rather old and could use an update.

This is the place to stay. Everything was comfortable and clean. The room was a bit small, but we just slept there anyway, with so much to do in Toronto.

Location is excellent. Quality of beds, linen and other stuff is average. Its a 3 star hotel not 4 star. I paid low rate as it was non refundable. The size of the room is also below average. Plenty of parking garages around albeit expensive. Bottom line great location average quality.

For a hotel in downtown Toronto the rooms were very small for the price - not impressed at all with hotel and will not stay there again.

Great bed, comfy linens.The pillows weren't the best though. I will bring my own since I just live out of the city. Pool and Hottub were nice temperatures. Very nice room temperature in the middle of summer. It was nice and quite the whole night. The bathroom at really small counter space but its not a big issue for me or my girlfriend. 10th floor ice […] machine rocks...the other ones are no good. Great location and its got a delicious longo's right around the corner that has homecooked equivalent meals. All in all I will stay here again for sure since the price is very good and its just a nice quite place. Too much action at the other hotels. Leer más

It was a very bad experience we arrived around 1:00 pm and was told are room would be ready in 20 minuttes we never got in our room until 5:00 very disappointed and the room is very outdated and not clean

Don't stay here. Outdated hotel that obviously doesn't care to update, remodel or replace. Only salvation was that the bed was moderately comfortable, but mix that with an air conditioner that rattled all night and you have an uncomfortable stay. Next trip will be closer to midtown in a better facility.

Our room was roomy and had a great view. The location was perfect near to the Dundas-Yonge corner, between the majors site seeing site. Overall, a great experience.

The night started off on a bad note, I tried checking in at 6:00 pm and even though it was way past check in time, my room had yet to be turned out (I believe its because I was only staying for one night and the hotel assumed it was to be used as a late night after-club crash pad) I was not impressed so I left my baggage and went to grab some dinner. […] When I finally got into the room I was pleased at what I saw, even though it was small it was very cosy. I couldn't hear my neighbours at all. The service was very kind when I asked for a razor and some wine glasses they came immediately and even brought me shaving cream! So other than the snobby man who chequed me in, I had a wonderful experience. Leer más

Amazing quality for a cheap price, Only heard good things about the hotel from locals I met during my stay. Loved everything about the room and the hotel was beautiful. I have been telling everyone great things about my stay there and I will continue to.

For the price I paid, I would have like a much better looking room. It was not a pleasing on to be in. It was on the small site of what I would have expected and the decor looked like it should have been updated a few years ago. Your lobby, restaurant and bar had everything I was hoping for. Upgrade your rooms, and clean your flooring.

Clean and comfortable room, nice and friendly staf, good restaurent but the only problem here is the internet service. hardly you can connect to the wireless and when you get the connection, it's so weak that hardly you can get 1 bar consistantly. I would suggest you take another look on this site before booking this place. Very small rooms, no pool, weight room or amentities in the building. Room had a dirty towel in it, toilet wouldn't flush- fire alarm went off at 9 am.... The list goes on. The bed was amazing and the location and cost were great but that's about it.

Staff was rude. I was greeted with a women saying "Your name?". No smile either. Lobby is incredibly bland. The room was clean but mattress is old. Also had old a/c unit which made noise all night long. I'd never stay there again. Worth paying an extra $60 to stay at Park Hyatt.
