This hotel is a fine old "Grande Dame' at a great price!

Perfect Center City Philadelphia location. Old style rooms but very large and comfortable. Bar and Restaurant on 19th floor are fantastic, especially for nightcap. The adjoining athletic club is THE athletic club in the city and use is free and unlimited. Everything in Center City Philly is within walking distance. Very well presented hotel. Clean with comfortable beds. Was difficult to find on google maps because there are no building numbers. We only stayed one night but were able to walk to several bars and restaurants. Will be back in Philly soon!

Excellent service throughout hotel; convenient neighborhood right across from a subway. Has its own restaurant called XIX on the 19th floor with a cool bar. Every course was excellent, decor and ambience wonderful. Moderate noise in the restaurant, definitely more dressed up than down.The attached bar was slightly noiser but not crazed. The gym is […] excellent , spreading over 3 floors, with all the latest equipment, classes including boxing and aerobics. And there is a pool, so come armed with all workout and bathing suits. The hotel also has an inside walkway to a hair parlor, Tiffany's, a shoe store and Williams Sonoma. Other nice stores right next to the hotel are LaCoste and Kenneth Cole. For alternative dining options that are close by and more casual, the hotel has a foodcourt in the lower levels for more causal dining. Across the street is Pain Quotidien. Great location, Great Service, easy to checkin and checkout, the restaurant on the 19 floor is absolutly amazing, the sport club is extraordinary, the hotel is big, and is a little easy to get lost, but it was great, I will stay there again if I go back to Philadelphia!

The domed restaurant on the 19th floor is a lovely way to start your day for breakfast.

I would highly recommend the Bellevue for a relaxing, connected stay in downtown CC. I had some question regarding my room not facing the city, and later, on extending my reservation for another day when the hotel was sold out and received great service from Andrew and Michelle - Service Managers. The rooms are being remodeled, so may be too antiquated for some. I stayed in one of the older (I'd say historic) rooms. It had great colonial details and what it was lacking in modern luxury (the shower was not great), it made up in space (it was huge) and comfort (bed was amazing). I really enjoyed my stay that the Hyatt Hotel. The room was comfortable and clean, and the service from the front desk to my hotel room was impecable.

We love this hotel and have stayed here several times, but this time we felt that the room we had was not as good as usual. The heat was uncontrollable and even after maintenance tried two times to fix it, it was extremely warm. Since this was over Christmas and there were only about 40 rooms occupied, I think we could have been given a better room […] for the holidays. Out of a 2 week roadtrip holiday through the States (going from the West to East Coast), this by far was the best hotel we stayed in. The room was massive, clean, comfortable and luxurious. overly expensive and not 4 star. web site does not mention you will be assigned an inside facing room with "atrium view" meaning no view. had to upgrade for $50 per night to get a window. beds way to soft.old towels.had to pay for internet only to find out each device needed separate billing. never again

The hotel was beautiful and charming but what really made my stay was it's amazing fitness center. For an avid, gym junkie, this was nirvana.

Please remodel this hotel, it was disgusting and even worse was the price to pay for it...

I LOVED this hotel, because the rooms are huge and the fitness center is totally over the top. Excellent location with shopping right in the hotel, close to convention center where I had a week long meeting. Nice room. Very Noisy at night if you are not used to staying in a city. Got woken up 3-4 times from noise on the street level from the 14th floor. We did not get the room we reserved. Mostly great but they missed a few small details. Went out early (5:30 AM), others had 2 papers by their door, I had none. Mentioned it at desk on my return and they did nothing. Doesn't fit with a fine hotel. Small details are what makes a great hotel. Missed the boat here. Restaurant / bar upstairs are nice with a great view, again a small miss. This hotel is a smallsection of an old Waldoff Astoria hotel where the legionaires disease occured... it now is part hotel, designer shops and executive offices. Nice, but i dont think a four star when they give you 3 bath towels (not plush) for a man and a women... We loved our stay. The room was spacious, beautiful and comfortable. The upstairs restaurant is the perfect place to have a late night drink and dessert on the outdoor terrace. The gym is amazing!

Overall its a nice hotel. But there were a few problems, mainly because of the age of the building. Like the hot water didn't work initially, but when we called the front desk they said to leave it running for 15 minutes, and sure enough, we got ample hot water. Top location to be near theaters and restaurants and shopping. Loved the "welcome to the Hyatt" glass of champagne! Particularly convenient pull in to the entrance parking. We would highly recommend.

Came to Philadelphia to see the Red Sox v. Phillies game. We were skeptical about staying here based on some of the unflattering online reviews we had read. Well most of those reviews were wrong! This is a lovely hotel with excellent, friendly staff. The rooms are not soundproof and the ice machine on the 16th floor was not working and YES the elevators […] are really slow- these are all slight inconveniences. The real inconvenience was when President Obama not only came to Philadelphia on one of the days we were there, but actually came to the Hyatt Bellevue to give a speech. Security was tight and all hotel guests were detoured to using different entrances and elevators. Even walking in front of hotel was impossible! But the bottom line is: if this hotel is good enough for the President of the United States to visit, then it's a hotel I would stay at again. Leer más

Our stay at the Hyatt Bellvue was short and sweet as our visit in Philly was to do the Constitution Walk. It was the perfect place to lay our head before the rest of our vacation in NJ. Great historical glamorous hotel in a superb location in downtown. Restaurant at 19th floor is very nice and hope to go back and sit out the terrace in the right weather. Room was extra large with 2 Queen beds. Very clean and comfortable. No tissues in bathroom is about the only complaint I could think of.

My girlfriend and I spent a night at the Hyatt recently, its a very pretty hotel with super comfortable beds and in a good area. I would have loved to see a nicer, bigger bathroom, the elevators were super slow and the front desk service was lacking. I was given the wrong info on a train schedule and when I asked where I could get a basic nail polish […] they directed me to stores however having stayed at 3 star hotels where the concierge went and fetched things like that for me I was expecting more than that. Also we left our breakfast order on the door but almost 2 hrs after the requested time with a no show we called down to hear they never got it. They def sent it quickly after our call but $70 for 2 salmon on bagels and ojs seemed rather insane! If your looking to bar hop do your research, we were misdirected several times to places that we're not visitors friendly or up our alley. Only have rave reviews for the bar at the top of the Hyatt. Nice atmosphere, great drinks (although pricey, typical for a city) and outstanding bar staff!!! If you don't stay at the hotel, at least visit the gents at the XIX Nineteen! Leer más

Although the hot water took a while to "get going" for our showers and we awoke one night to a yapping dog, these were the worst of our concerns. The hotel was lovely. Grand room and very comfortable! The location was EXCELLENT! Walking distance (8blks) to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, great shopping on streets around the hotel, Rittenhouse […] Sq. (6 blks.) and only 6 stops on the Metro to the Phillies stadium! We really enjoyed breakfast on the 19th floor! What a room! I would love to say here again. Leer más

Attending the Blossom Bash 2011 in March, I decided to book the Awaken package with a King-sized bed. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were told they had two QUEEN beds for us. Politely asking whether there was a KING bed, we received no real response other than a shrug. I realize hotel employees sometimes have no real control over this, but I had paid […] a premium price for the Awaken package and specifically booked a King. So it seemed a bit shady that we were not given what we paid for/asked for. The room itself was nice and we enjoyed our night at the gala a great deal. Then in the morning, the Awaken package turned out to be a choice between a cold continental breakfast or one of only 3 things from the menu that were under a certain price, not including the coffee or juice which was additional $. The hot portion of the breakfast buffet would also have been additional $. Had I known about the fixed price and cheap continental choice, I would have saved my money, we would have slept in longer, and just found a more satisfying and less costly breakfast on our way home. All in all, we enjoyed our evening at the hotel, but next time, we will probably take the train in to avoid exhorbitant parking fees, will make sure we get the room/bed we pay for, and will not be spending the extra money for the breakfast. WE PICK THIS HOTEL BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION AND EXPECTING A VERY GOOD SERVICE. UNFORTUNATELY WE HAD ONLY THE LOCATION. THE SECURITY ON THE HOTEL IS VERY POOR. WE HAD NOISE ALL NIGHT WITH GUEST(S) RUNNING ON THE CORRIDORS MAKING NOISE UNTIL 3:00 AM. AND SOME GUEST PLAYING A PIANO ON THE ATRIUM AFTER MIDNIGHT. WE COULD NOT SLEEP THE WHOLE NIGHT AS THEY […] HAD SOME HIGH SCHOOL PARTY. IT WAS PURE MADNESS. WHEN WE COMPLAINED TO THE FRONT DESK THEY SAID THAT THEY WILL TAKE CARE BUT NEVER DID. We had a wonderful evening at the Bellevue. We found it to be an elegant atmosphere in terms of the room as well as the main dining room. Great gym/spa. What ambience! We will return for sure.
