The hotel was under construction. We did not know until after we checked in. The restaurant was overpriced for a dry cheap breakfast buffet. The rest was good.

Just as we arrived in the parking courtyard, a parking valet approached me and said our ONLY option (she repeated it) was to valet park at $28 per.night. When I inquired about the beautiful, new LEED certified parking structure just across the street, she acted like it didn't exist. Great location... walk to beach, shops, food. Clean, great neighborhood. Hotel rooms are expensive, even on a week night, But worth it!.... no need to taxi, or pay shuttle fees, rooms are suites, large, mine had a balcony. Hotel should not charge for parking, that is the only down side, for the price of the room, parking should be complimentary.

In this hotel internet speed is very poor. And all complaints fall on deaf ears. I was on 6th floor but still had really bad highway sound. I will advice to avoid this if you are a business traveler and want to be connected.

When I stayed at the Doubletree it was going through some renovations. Despite this, my stay was pleasant and I honestly didn't notice them doing all the work they are doing to make this place even better. Free, *warm*, soft cookies on arrival and after further begging. Awesome. Room was very nice as well. Two problems, no HiltonHonors points because I booked through Hotels.com... And we made a phone call from the room and were told it would cost $1. It cost $28...

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of our California road trip. Good location near the pier and the Santa Monica shops and restaurants. Also not too far from the major attractions and parks. We stayed at Doubletree Santa Monica for 1 night on the 5th Oct with a family of 4. Very nice hotel. Room was big. King bed and queen sofa bed in living room. Drapes blocked out all the light and the room was quiet. We accidently slept in till 1030am. The room was very clean and the staff friendly. The hotel is close enough to the Pier. It was a 5 to […] 10 min walk with kids and also close to 3rd st Prominarde. I went with this hotel over the Holiday Inn in SM as it was a suite room. HI SM is closer to Pier but on a freeway. The Pier was nothing special and the rides expensive. $20 for all of us to go on the ferris wheel. 3rd st Prominarde was great for fashion shopping as it has all the designer shops if thats your interest. A lovely hotel. Great location with a shopping centre and Santa Monica Pier nearby ( 10 minute walk max) Friendly staff. And the chocolate cookies...........yummy!

I can only speak highly of this hotel. Service was impeccable, room was spotless, roomy and extremely comfortable. Positioning exact for my needs. Easy to get to and great for seeing Santa Monica and it's shopping...

very relaxing atmosphere, gentle and welcoming staff, the best cookies you can taste in your life, only 2 minutes walk to the beach, and 3rd street promenade.

The location was fabulous and the rooms were nice...the only complaint I have is that Hotels.com got the reservation wrong...I had requested 2 queen beds as I had 4 teenage boys travelling with me and we got 2 king suites instead...so it made it a bit uncomfortable getting everyone sleeping accommodation... Good choice for budget-minded people who don't need to be on the beach but want a clean, nice size room in the heart of Santa Monica with great access to key highways. The hotel is not luxurious, but it is clean, reasonably well-appointed, and has a good staff. It has true suites, but like many hotels its "king" size beds are more like queens. The hotel staff was very nice all the way down to the valet guys. The room was big and very clean. Just a couple blocks from the new mall and the promenade. I really enjoyed my stay at the double tree!

My daughter and I loved this hotel. We had 2 absolutely separate rooms and the living room couch she slept on was very comfortable. My king size bed was fabulous. Hotel is walking distance from the Santa Monica and Venice beaches, close to shopping and variety of restaurant. We felt that the rates are a bit higher For the quality of ambiance, furnishing etc. The overnight parking rate for cars are pretty high and extra.

Besides the hotel being so wonderful, the staff was the most courteous people I have ever met.......Every time we came to put our car at valet they met me by name and everyone asked us how we were, if we needed directions, or if we had a good time while we were out. The inside staff was the same.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect and the staff was very welcoming. The hotel is super clean and very well run. At times we felt "nickeled and dimed" for services that could have easily been added to the price of the room such as the parking.

ThIs hotel's standards of service and comfort represent good value money. All staff were friendly and accomodating and the hotel is within easy walking distance to the Santa Monica pier and the 3rd Street promenade. Tips: We used shared shuttle services for transport to and from LAX and the hop on hop off bus to get around LA.

Have stayed at the hotel several times. Decor now showing signs of age. Not happy with $28 mandatory parking fee

The room was huge and comfortable. Even the pull out bed was soft. The staff was very friendly from the front desk to valet. The cookies are so yummy that I got more with no problem. The hotel is a short walking distance to the Santa Monica pier.

Like everyone else, i thought the 28.00 per night parking was abit much since across the street it was cheaper, i think $9/day. Since I had a rental car, did not want to risk vandalism parking across the street. As for location, the Police and Fire administration is across the street so i think it was pretty safe. The hotel was very nice and inviting, […] cookies were good and everyone, especially the valet folks were cordial and helpful. Walking distance to the mall, promenade, and santa monica pier was ok, about 1/2 mile. Did not get ocean view, instead the view was the 10 freeway and high school. Freeway noise was not noticeable. The Doubletree is a nice hotel at a good price. My suite was plenty large enough, the room was clean and looked pretty new, and the hotel itself was spotless. Complementary Internet and a good bartender too. The hotel is not in the most scenic location, being sandwiched between Santa Monica High School, the Civic Center garage and the entrance to the […] 10. Great hotel to stay at. Very modern, clean and spacious. The only complaint would be that its not as close as other hotels to the main Santa Monica attractions such as the pier or 3rd St Promonade.

Very convenient location, within walking distance to the 3rd st. promanade and also to the beach and Pier. The mall is also only 2 blocks away...convenient for food and shopping. The beds were comfortable and rooms were kept clean. Slightly pricey for the buffet at the ajoining restaraunt ($18) although you are in Santa Monica!!

greeted by a delicious warm cookie while checkin. how nice! the sofa in the room definitely need a deep clean. overall, i feel satisfied with this hotel. Note: Overnight parking is way too expensive $28/night. Suggest to park in the Civil center (opposite of the hotel) cost only $9/night.

This hotel wass a great home base for our visit to Santa Monica. the staff were cheery and responsive, but they need to pay more attention to appliances and things functioning in the room. The coffeemaker did not work, the mini fridge did not work but was quickly replaced when we complained, and the TV remote also did not work but again, this was tended […] to promptly. This hotel is a couple blocks from our grandchildren's home and it was a good choice. We liked the room of the suite and the location to the beach was fine too. We could walk to restaurants and the Santa Monica pier. Loved the breakfast vouchers for full buffet breakfast. We will stay again.

Convenient location, great rooms, fabulous breakfast. We did hear a lot of noise through the vents, I wish they had soundproofed better. And a microwave would be nice. As a tea drinker I really hate using the coffee pot to heat water. But overall the hotel was great

We booked a king suite expecting some room. Suite was small and very old style. Flat screens advertised but told on arrival not available till September. Not at all what we expected for the price. First impressions are important when entering room for first time. Every lamp shade was crooked. I know, might seem petty,.but presentation is important. […] Sliding door in bedroom stuck. Didn't notice street noise as much as some hotels. Valet parking and room service excellent. Housekeeping average. 2nd day there room still not cleaned by 3:30, called and had towels brought to room..2 hrs later housekeeping shows up to clean. Leer más

This hotel is significantly less costly than those closer to or on the beach. (At least $100/night less.) It's directly across the street from the convention center which makes it a good business hotel. The rooms are clean and we always enjoy the suite configuration offered by DoubleTree. The valet and check in staff is courteous, attentive and very responsive. The lobby coffee bar and restaurant are convenient and offer basics at reasonable prices for the area . The outdated tvs in the room were a bit of a disappointment, as was the limited channel selection, but overall, the hotel is a good value. The warm cookies at check are always enjoyable.
