It's a very nice hotel with an amazing location but the extra fees just never end: really? It's necessary to charge an extra for fitness class? Extra for painfully slow internet service? Mandatory valet parking. When I finally got service by the pool the salad was served covered in tiny flies! Hotel is very good, but not 5 stars. Overall, the hotel looks "worn". Furniture in common areas and rooms have the "lived in" feel like it's just a step away from needing to be replaced. Additionally, I had booked reservations for 6 colleagues. All rooms were guaranteed as "Superior King." However, when we checked in, we were informed that the hotel […] was oversold and rooms with 2 queen beds were all that was available. They did upgrade my room to "one with a view" since I showed the reservation and asked about a king room. But my colleagues didn't ask and were not automatically upgraded. When I was there recently the power went out multiple times, sometimes for an hour or more. All the other hotels around us were lit up like Christmas! Not weather related. Hugely disappointing . 2 nights , NO WIFI and NO TV After many conversations with the management only to be told , sir sorry, we are fully booked and we cant move you to another room .somethings are a MUST in any star hotel and wifi and TV are two of them . we have no complaints about the room ,very comfortable, but unfortunately the lack or these 2 […] things made the stay hugely disappointing and frustrating to the point of despair ! Excellent boardwalk location, close to fabulous restaurants and fun street vendors! Hotel ran out of regular coffee and did not restock the last 3 days if our stay. They provided 1 free pot if Roo Service coffee but that rallied a tip. Overall good stay!

My boyfriend and I had the absolute best time at your hotel. The concierge was perfectly helpful. I will never forget my 2 nights at your wonderful hotel in Santa Monica.

The hotel was at 60% occupancy and yet we were given a room overlooking an active and very noisy construction site. Felt like they wanted us to "pay" for getting a good deal at hotels.com...very disappointing for the Christmas spirit.

I was expecting a nicer room for the price. It was small and on the ground level. It was called a Superior King, but there was nothing superior about it. The room lacked the ammenities that I would expect from a 4-star hotel. The refrigerator sat out in the room uncovered. We ordered a bottle of wine from room service. It was a screw cap variety that […] you could get at the supermarket, but the check was $78!!! The service was very good, though, and the location was perfect. This hotell was not as high end as I expected. The important things were taken care of ie: rooms and bathrooms were clean, beds comfortable, view nice. I did not eat there so can't comment. I did feel they nickel and dime you for everything-parking,in room internet, fitness center and of course the very expensive minibar.. just lovely!

Great hotel!!!! The room was wonderful and the view of the beach/pier was spectacular. Not to mention this hotel is pet friendly (hard to find). All and all great stay can't wait to return and refer any friends or family.

Loved the atmosphere and the hotel!! I will be back definitely. The lobby is nice and service was great.

We stayed at Loews this past week for a couple nights. The hotel is in a great location and the lobby and restaurants are great. I was very surprised, though, that the room we had was a bit neglected. The bathroom door took a lot of force to slide shut and there were K-Swiss and Fila stickers on the inside of it that the staff hadnt noticed. We would highly recommend this hotel . In fact we are planning to return for a family reunion in 2 years . Family from the UK ,Germany and Australia will meet up here . Our next reunion will be in America as we all met in Portugal for our first reunion .

Our room was extremely comfortable and looked out over the ocean. The weather was exceptional and I think the only negative was that the service was slow and in all fairness I don't think they were prepared for how busy the pool area was and there was a snafu with our car but they took off parking for the day to make up for it. We had a great stay the Loews. The location is great for the beach and the Pier, but it is about a 5 - 10 min walk to the touristy shopping area. You are not allowed to self park you vehicle and must use the valet. Valet parking is a nice service but it seems a little excessive to not have a choice, but I guess "when in Rome (or L.A. in this case)!" […] This was our "spoil ourselves" hotel for our 2 week trip down the California coast. Well it is a very nice hotel my wife and I really didn't feel like it was very special beyond the location. The same as any other 4 star hotel chain. Leer más

My husband and I stayed in Santa Monica for our Honeymoon. The staff from beginning to end were extremely helpful and polite. We did not have to wait for anything as there was always someone available. They were always open to giving local recommendations. We were surprised with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room our […] first night. The staff was aware it was our Honeymoon trip and surprised us with this treat. The location is fantastic and the views are amazing. We will definitely stay in the Loews Santa Monica again in the future!! Leer más

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Hotel lobby was impressive as were the pool area and the views. Location was great. Near everything you'd want to do in Santa Monica--most in walking distance. Nearby Malibu--a short drive. Hotel Restaurant was very nice but expensive, especially for breakfast. Parking was also expensive.

My stay at the Loews in Santa Monica was a great one...The hotel is in a great location and is maintained in exceptional condition. The staff took great care in taking care of my needs and also gave me an exceptional upgrade... It was hard to leave... I would highly recommend this hotel and will be staying there again...

I would not recommend this hotel simply because we could not sleep five out of the seven nights we were there. Complaining did not help. The set up of the hotel has a lot to do with the noise level. The bar was located below our room so the noise from the bar and pool area came thru the sliding glass door and the atrium noise came thru the front door […] of our room. The hotel has a large atrium which is beautiful but carries a lot of noise from the bar which is also open to the pool area. Two of the nights it was not quiet until after 3:00 AM. The hotel has a great location and great service. The rooms are unacceptable for a 4 star hotel. I felt that much attention was placed on the outside while the inside of the rooms seemed to belong to another era. I would never go back again. I really don't feel that I even came close to receiving my money's worth. Well below standard.

My family had a wonderful stay at the Loews Santa Monica. Service was great. We really loved the ocean view from our room. The pool patio offers a terrific menu and happy hour prices. Our kids loved the free ice cream bars in the afternoon.

Loved the hotel and its extremely friendly staff. The staff always greeted you and was very helpful. They tend to charge for everything however. Even when you are paying a premium for the rooms, they charge for everything. Oh well, it is a very nice hotel in a great location.

Beautiful hotel in a great location - a stones throw from the Santa Monica Pier!

This hotel is everything you could ever need and more. We brought along our children, and when we arrived they had kites and free downloads for my 8 year old to download to her ipod. The pool is amazing, and so is the beach view. The room was perfect size and even had a small tv in the restroom. Just amazing!!!

Loved the hotel overall. Parking is too expensive as were the business center prices ($15 to send/receive a fax!). Poolside service was great.

I complained and insisted on cancelling if I was going to be charged for parking so they waived the charge. The hotel website is misleading: I expected to exit the beachside of hotel and walk right onto the sand... WRONG! There is a small street to cross and then a small block to walk. SHUTTERS and CASA DEL MAR are directly on the beach. The guy at […] the desk (Darren, Darryl, Derek, whatever his name was) put me in a Deluxe King room when I booked a Deluxe Double AND my partial ocean view room was only partial if I risked life and limb by leaning WAY forward over the balcony. Needless to say, I returned to the desk and requested a double and a REAL partial ocean view. He had a slight attitude about this and argued that the room was still partial ocean view. It wasn't BUT EVEN IF IT WAS, it wasn't the double that I had booked SO WHY ARGUE WITH THE CUSTOMER? The location is great but there are other inexpensive options with the same or better quality of service and room. THE ROOM ITSELF WAS DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE COST. I will never stay at another Loews... ever. It was an overpriced hassle. Leer más

The only complaint we have is that there is not free wi fi, except in the lobby. Every other accommodation that we have stayed in in California, had free wi fi. Is it of such expense for the hotel to offer this complimentary to their guests, I think not. It might be ok for those with tax deductions, however when travelling, costs do mount up, and although […] this is only a small cost, it is a big thing. However, we did enjoy our stay but would have liked to have had this opportunity for the wi fi in our room unconditionally. Also whoever is the painter, needs to put his glasses on, as the ceilings in our room, were just patched, this was quite obvious. Leer más

The Hotel is really lovely and the room was nice the only thing that really got up my nose (and its really little but bugged me) was when we came into our room the TV remote down the bottom had 2 pieces of food stuck to it......and I was going to wipe it but thought NO I will wait and see if the cleaner would, but each day the remote was placed in the […] little cardboard cover the the cruddy food was still there. That buggered me surely she saw it when she put it away but not wipe...TV remotes harbour so many germs.......I washed my hands after touching it. Yes I know its small and my seem silly. the cleaner did our bed with new sheets ect great but little details like the remote is important. Chris Leer más

The service around the pool area was extremely slow. Drinking water was not refresed daily and rarely had cups with which to fill.

What a great hotel! I regularly frequent hotels whether they be for work or pleasure. The Loews Hotel in Santa Monica is one of THE BEST! Although it may not have the ultra-modern design of some other hotels, it makes up for it in location and especially service. Every person we encountered, from the valet guys, the front desk, the wait staff, to the […] room service people, they ALL went out of their way to provide us with 5 star service. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much. Located in a great area - facing the beach. Service was excellent and staff very pleasant. Food great - Only one suggestion - need a door on the bathroom as well as the shower area - Otherwise - great. Great TV - Will certainly come back again.
