La habitación muy pequeña, muebles anticuados y mal decorada. El baño también muy pequeño y antiguo, pero todo funcionaba correctamente y la cama era cómoda. Positivo: el spa y el desayuno buffet incluido en precio. Los espacios comunes, comedor, recepción, bar, resultan muy espaciosos y el aire antiguo muy evocador

Es increible que un hotel de las características del Gellert pueda vender una habitación para una persona tan reducida y miserable como la que me tocó en suerte. Deberían poner las dimensiones de las habitaciones ya que por la foto no es posible apreciarla. Unless you plan to use the baths, this hotel is located far from most of the tourist spots you would want to visit. The hotel needs a complete renovation although everything was clean. The baths are fantastic, but men and women are separated, per tradition.

It was wonderful to be there, and enjoy for free the thermal baths. That was a PLUS! Breakfast very good! Location Excelent!

The hotel has not been updated in years. The rooms were very old. There is no air conditioning which is a problem because when you open the windows (as you must) it is difficult, if not impossible, to sleep. The rooms facing the Danube have traffic all night and the inside ones have deliveries beginning at 5 a.m. The hotel needs a MAJOR renovation. […] We would not stay there again. Danubius Hotel Gellert was recommended to us by friends who had stayed there. They described it as old world elegance. Fortunately, we didn't need air conditioning -- that would be a plus in the summer. We did enjoy the mineral baths and fabulous breakfasts and the comfortable size of our room.

I wish every one take a shower before get in Spa.

The Gellert must have been a very grand hotel in its day. Many trappings about the place are stuck in the 70's,even so it is a pleasant place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast, include with the price of the room, is a good mix of European and American style treats. And the Spa is not to be missed. The building and its location were great. River-side window views were spectacular. The available services (restaurants, meals, baths) were not clearly explained and not easy to figure out. Hotel staff was not generous with information or assistance. Concierge desk was never manned during my four-day stay. Hotel room on the 4th floor was very small, and can't have been decorated in the last 20 years. The bed had no head board and the wallpaper was very discoloured with the pattern missing where people's heads had rubbed against it. Shower was very small, with no overhead fixing so it had to be held to have a shower!! In a word: GRIM. DON'T GO THERE!

My room was smelling sewage from the bathroom, the internet connection have to be used from the tv, even if you have your own laptop, and did not work for me. i called the front desk and they could not solve the problem (and that internet would not be free as well). if you want to use the hotel to have a free entrance to the thermal resort, dont do […] it. Location is good, expecially to walk along Donu at night. Spa is very confortable. Facilities looked old but acceptable. Staffs are kind and frendly. One bad thing is house keeping work. Glasses of my room were cracked or durty. Overall, however, nice hotel to stay.

This customer service of this hotel is very lousy. 1) It started with the Gellert thermal bath usage. I checked-in the hotel at 6:30 pm, and the termal bath would be closed at 7 pm. The hotel receptionist told me that I was too close to the closing time and he would not issue me the swipe-card for the bath. I really wanted to use it before the dinner, […] so it still went down to the bath. They let me come inside after showing my room key. I was there until 8 pm. Even they closed at 7 pm, people inside could stay quite awhile after the closing. 2) After the thermal bath, I went to my room. The room was so hot. I turned the knob down from the radiator panel to a complete shut off. Then, I went to the dinner. I toured around the city and came back to the room. The room was unbearable hot. I called the reception desk to report about the problem with the radiator heater. They said that all the technicians went home and there wasn't anything they could do about the heater. I requested for a room change. All single bed rooms were fully booked, and they could not switch me to a different room. I opened the door to allow cold air coming into the room. It was in November so the outside temperature was around 4'C. I had to adjust how big of the window I should open to have a comfortable temperature inside. Finally, I was able to do that. 3) While I was adjusting the room temperature with the window, I went downstair to pick up a card for the internet. The internet card was equivalent to 4 euroes after converting from their currency. They told me I could pay for the card when I checked out. The next morning I paid them a 10 euro bill. They didn't have a change. I went to the car and brought the change. I gave them a 2 euro coin, a 1 euro coin, and 2-50 cent coins to make up for 4 euroes. The receptionist refused to take 2-50 cent coins because he said the bank would not take them. I told them that's all I had. Finally, they took them. I stayed at the Gellert for two nights on business. It is a very impressive building, but my room was small (I was in the cheapest room) and decor was a bit chintzy; basically the whole place could do with a bit of a refurb. There was no air conditioning so the room was stuffy. The main incentive to stay here is the free access to the Gellert spa; this […] can be reached by a private elevator for hotel guests leading to the main reception of the spa. It can be a bit unnerving the first time you walk through the reception in your hotel gown and flip-flops but lots of people do it so don't be embarassed! The buffet breakfast is wonderful with a huge selection of continental and cooked breakfasts and mountains of fruit. I also ate at the terrace restaurant which has a fanastic view of the Danube, Gellert hill and the Liberty Bridge - good food and hungarian folk music, although I could have done without the personal serenade as I was dining alone! Bell and restaurant staff were very helpful and friendly but some of the reception staff were a little snooty so I have marked the hotel down a bit on that. Overall I would recommend the hotel to people who like to stay in landmark/historic buildings but don't expect absolute luxury. Leer más

liked this hotel. staff helpful and very to the point. the attachment of the baths was a real plus. rooms very nice but no air conditioning and very hot (stayed in July). despite this would stay again.

I loved my stay at the Gellert and will return. Yes, the rooms are small with old furniture, but the art-nouveau decor in the main halls and baths are beautiful and the very cordial, sincerely well-meaning staff members were nicely attentive to giving me a well-needed relaxing stay. A truly generous breakfast buffet is included with the price of your […] room as is access to the baths. There is a 24-hour store very close by. The only complaint we had was that the bathroom in our room was well overdue for refurbishment and looked shabby, which isn't good enough for a hotel of this price and standard. However, when we told them about the broken tap, it was mended within a couple of hours, which was good service. The food was great - we had dinner in the hotel's restaurant […] one evening - and there was a great selection for breakfast. We also had a very good meal when we went out one evening. Absolutely loved the spa (which was why we chose this hotel) and spent a lot of time in the pools inside and out - and that meant the shabby bathroom wasn't too big a deal, as we were showering at the pool anyway. The late afternoon sun coming through the stained glass in the main hall was beautiful. We were fortunate to have blue skies and sun every day, at just the perfect time of year, all the trees in fresh green leaves, with lilac, wisteria and horse chestnut all in flower. The flower beds round Budapest are really well planted, too - it looked really fantastic. The public transport is good, with trams and buses right outside the hotel, which is in easy walking distance for the main streets and Castle Hill and Gellert Hill, too. We could have spent loads more time there, and seen so much more, but we only had a couple of full days there. But it was very relaxing and interesting and we had a wonderful break. This hotel is very impressive from the outside but rather dated on the inside. The pool which is featured in many of the photographs only opens from May onwards. Unfortunately we went there in May. It is not a terrible hotel, but there are far nicer hotels to stay in and you can still visit the gellert. This was my fifth stay at the Gellert, and I do love it for nostalgic reasons and its classic thermal baths and style. I was very disappointed this time because we had a very small room and the shower in the bath was moldy and smelled strongly of mold. The whole hotel is in need of serious upgrading. In the past this has seemed to be one of its charms--Communist-era […] decor but well maintained and clean. This time it was merely run-down. It's still a beautiful building and an experience for first-time visitors to Budapest, but other hotels have passed it by in features, service and comfort. Leer más

Første gang vi besøgte Gellert blev vi begejstrede for personalets smil og gode service, og derfor valgte vi for 3.die gang dette sted, som udgangspunkt for en vennetur: Hotellet og kurbadets samarbejde gør det til noget særligt, og selv om hotellet er slidt af tidens tand, oplever man en dejlige afslapppet atmosfære, med et strejf af storhed og et […] personale der kan lide deres job og kender til god service. Belligende med den smukke udsigt til Donau og god offentlig transportmuligheder lige ved døren giver gode muligheder for at finde rundt i byen og nemt at komme hjem til dagens badetur, som må være et MUST for enhver livsnyder. Hotellet är mycket bra, en helt underbar badavdelning. Om man vill ha några dagars avkoppling från sin vardag är Budapest & hotell Gellert ett utmärkt val!

le personnel est tres prevenant. l'acces direct aux bains est vraiment pratique. la situation de l'hotel est ideal.

Vi var svært fornøyde med hotellet og dets personale, hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Hotellet ligger vakkert til med lett adkomst til downtown, trikken stopper rett utenfor, eller du kan spasere. Trikk er et lettvint framkomstmiddel i Budapest og er svært billig.

Den servicemind andan hos personalen saknas tyvärr, en anmärkning gällande frukosten tiden är 07.00-10.00 personalen börjar plocka undan redan ca: 09.50 man känner sig utslängd, man är trots allt på semester vill man ta sen frukost då skall ingen släppas in efter kl 10.00 men de som är inne och intar sin frukost skall få var i fred!

Mysigt hotell med bra service och trevlig personal. Förvänta dig dock att rummen är lite slitna och sängarna ganska hårda (iaf de billigaste). Gratis tillgång till Gellertbadet och billiga behandlingar. Frukosten var mycket bra och missa framför allt inte söndagsbrunchen! Hotellets café var också mycket prisvärt. Hotel Gellert er jo en gammel dame og der er mange vedligeholdelses udfordringer. Det opvejes dog fuldt ud af den gode beliggenhed, atmosfæren og ikke mindst en fantastisk service hele vejen igennem fra et dygtigt og smilende personale. Rigtig dejligt med morgenmadspakke når man skal afsted til lufthavnen klokken 5 om morgenen. PS. Og min ægtefælle […] elskede at være i kurbadene morgen og aften. Leer más

Fordelen ved at have wellness området på hotellet opvejer ulemperne ved de meget gamle og nedslidte værelser, vi boede i enkeltværelser, som måske er dårligere end de øvrige. Svømmehal og bade er i fin stand, men områderne med massage og terapibade er direkte ulækre. Massørerne og de muligheder de giver er dog fantastiske. Vi prøvede mange typer behandlinger […] og det var fantastisk. Top service og meget kompetent. Ligeledes topbetjening i begge restauranter. Personnel très agrable, disponible. Petit déjeuner copieux. Tout proche d'une station de TRAM qui nous permet de se déplacer dans toute la ville. Acces aux thermes compris dans le forfait.

Le Gellert n'est plus à présenter. Son passé prestigieux parle encore pour lui mais aussi son présent et avec de la bonne volonté, le Gellert aura de très belles décennies encore devant lui. Il faut impérieusement aller au Gellert. Les bains qui ne sont plus gérés par l'Hôtel devraient être mieux organisés et surtout "surveillés" question hygiène. Dommage: […] seuls les jours fériés et le week-end soent mixtes, car la plupart des touristes y viennent en couple. Sinon, bravo à tout le personnel et à la direction, car le gellert reste un bel ambassadeur de la Hongrie. On y revient autant que nos "économies" nous le permettent et nous ne le regrettons jamais. Hotell Gellert har rust og flasser av, men er likevel verdt hver krone. Mora mi, søstra mi og jeg syntes hotelloppholdet var en stor opplevelse - fra dørmannen åpnet drosjedøra for oss til de tre karene i resepsjonen vinket farvel 4 dager etterpå. Men rom med UTSIKT må du ha! Ellers kan kanskje rommet bli litt stusslig.

Et rigtig dejligt hotel. Det eneste, vi manglede, var en sikkerhedsboks på værelset.

God service, å god mat.. Ikke så veldig mye posetivt å si om rommet.. Maur på gulvet å veldig gammelt. Men d er jo ett gammelt hotell så må vel regne med litt slitasje.. Men til å være ett 4 stjerners hotell. Ikke helt sikker på om d står opp til d ! Ikke flatskjerm,dårlig Internett som ik er inkl. Men ellers ingen dårlig hotell. Jeg anbefaler heller […] Intercontinental Budapest. Eller Royal Palace Budapest. Men ett bra hotell med gratis inngang til spaet dem har. Fine priser ! Leer más

Ich hatte ein Einzelzimmer gebucht. Dies war als Zimmer eine einzige Katastrophe. Eine Besenkammer mit Bett. Natürlich unrenoviert. En keines ca 80 Jahre altes kleines Einzelbett und eine Bad mit bunt gemischten Fliesen und einem Duschvorhang aus den 60er Jahren. Wer den Standart eines Luxushotels erwartet ist hier nicht richtig. Wer aber darüber hinwegsieht […] und das Hotel als "ursprüngliches Budapest" akzeptiert, für den wird das Hotel Gellert ein unvergessliches Erlebnis sein. Leer más

Hotel famoso, à beira do Danúbio, mas pessimamente conservado! Problemas graves no ralo do banheiro, luzes queimadas no quarto, paredes descascando, sem ar condicionado e sem acesso à internet. Vale pelo acesso dos hospedes às piscinas termais...
