Aunque ya hace tiempo que desaparecieron las fábricas, aún se conservan los edificios de hierro fundido y mampostería, transformados ahora en galerías de arte, tiendas exclusivas y algunos de los mejores restaurantes de la ciudad. After reading a few negative reviews online, we were a bit hesitant to stay here. No worries. Our room was impeccably clean and stylish. I am still dreaming about our sumptuous bed and bedding. The location is great and the staff could not have been friendlier.

Comentado por Marie A, deNew York, el ago 26, 2009
We enjoyed our stay very much. SoHo is a great place to eat, visit galleries, and shop. I felt that the hotel hallways had a stale odor--not unpleasant, but stale. Perhaps some Fabreeze or carpet deodorizer would have helped. The lobby area and hallways were dimly lit--ambiance??? A little more light wouldn't have hurt. The bar was nice and great for people watching, however we were dissatisfied with the outdoor bar. There weren't any tables in the bar area and the host suggested the outdoor one. We were disappointed when the host of the outdoor bar told us that it was "closed for a private party," only to find that the indoor bar host told us that wasn't the case. "Sometimes they say that if they sense people aren't hotel guests," was what the indoor host told us when we returned. The outdoor host never asked, nor did we think that we needed to have mentioned it. All ended up being fine because a table opened up at the indoor bar when we had returned there. There should be better communication amongst the staff, or a way that they could communicate without guests having to go up/down and in/out of the hotel to get a drink.

We have stayed in New York many times but this hotel and location was by far the best. The service at the hotel was great and the staff were very friendly. There were numerous restaurants and bars directly outside the hotel which was very convenient. Shopping wise Soho has all the same shops as midtown, but are in a much closer proximity. We would definitely go back to this hotel again!

Pros: location - Soho area, bar, clientele - people watching.., room very comfortable particularly bed. Cons: corridors could do with a freshen up, pretty small room (but it is NY), was there on biz would not recommend for families. TV reception not good. Overall service was excellent, room very comfortable and in a good area. Price not too bad either (may have got a special though considering financial conditions). I recommend it.

Very nice on the face (from street, lobby, bar, etc.), but lacking in room size, decor and comfort (bed). Plus, the linens smelled a little like a smoker used them. I ordered a chicken pot pie from room service which was the worst I've ever had. The service was exceptional though. The person that checked me in knew my name the next day on site and the bellhop knew what office building I was going to based on the address alone (less common building). The common areas were very swank. Good location for seeing Soho, Little Italy and China town.

This hotel is exactly what you would expect it to be: hip, funky, tasteful and fun. It happens to be located at my favorite intersection in all of NYC with Felix, Lucky Strike, and Toad Hall all right there. This is a very fun part of town. The only knock on the place was the bar, where the waitresses were very rude and aloof, and the drinks were overpriced, even by NYC standards.

I was astounded to see the small size of the room and its lack of anything unique or stylish that would make me think paying the amount we paid per night would make it worth it. The lobby & lounge of course are gorgeous, but the rooms are plain. I wouldn't expect to pay more than $150/night for a room like that. We paid extra to "upgrade" to their "largest" room, a special King room and it was not large at all. perhaps we were paying for the extra hallway space in the room? The room was also very humid, like the weather outside. For what we paid, I would expect that the hotel can manage the indoor climate better. I was disappointed with this hotel and would not recommend it for that price.

Gorgeous hotel. Very unique industrial look with modern facilities. Far exceeded my expecations. We only stayed for one night and did not use the restaurant. The staff was corteous. My only one minor complaint is that the AC fan was a bit noisy but I never told the hotel staff so they didn't have a chance to remedy the situation. I would stay there again without hesitation.

The other reviews describing the rooms are threadbare are right on. The hotel looked good from the lobby and the staff was mostly good (but not completely). But then we got to our room, which we spent a lot for, and it was like we had checked into a motel. 1. The drapes in our room were visibly faded by the sun, as well as ripped. There were many areas where the fabric was excessively worn or torn. 2. Our t.v. was broken. I called the front desk to have someone come look at it and I was assured that someone would be up shortly. I left for the day and when I came back nobody had been there and the t.v. was still broken. I called again and someone came. He replaced the t.v. with another t.v. that was also broken. We didn't bother to call again. 3. The internet did not work. 4. There was no bar of soap put into our bathroom, meaning in order to wash our hands we were forced to dip our fingers into the tiny bottle of shampoo. 5. The room reeked of cherry cleaning products. It was nauseating. 6. Some of the t.v.s in the gym were also broken. Our stay in the Soho Grand was no better than staying in a cheap motel. It is laughable that their Web site claims that the hotel is luxurious; it is anything but. I complained to their PR woman after we left. She responded right away, apologized, and offered us an upgrade the next time we stay there- but we would never, ever stay there again.

This is a very nice hotel, it has great staff, a nice lounge/bar/restaurant and is very close to all of the shops of soho, tribeca, and nolita, etc. It is also convenient to subway- the rooms are a decent size, nice and clean, I believe there may be street noise so try to request a higher level, it has 17 stories with the PH, we were on 16 so it wasn't an issue, but the city is loud so bring some ear plugs. Lived in the area for years, you'll enjoy it.

Our stay was a mix of business & pleasure. We had a great view of midtown manhattan skyscrapers! Of course, lots of Soho shopping and great eateries were recommended by the hotel.

Our room was meticulously clean and most attractive. We also had a wonderful view of the city on the 15th floor. The only thing that my husband and I found a little annoying was the shower head could not be adjusted and the sink faucet had a tendency to spray despite an air-rater. Otherwise our stay was most enjoyable and the people working for the hotel were very accommodating.

Extremly good location if you want to go shopping and to restaurants in this part of manhattan. The restaurant in the hotel is too expensive (breakfast + dinner), better choices only few moments away. Easily and quick to reach from JFK (Subway is under the hotel, just around the block) Perfect service and friendliness at checkin! Nice rooms. Not too big but good.

We stayed 3 nights at the Soho Grand and were pleased with the overall experience. I am a tough critic and it is very hard to achieve a 4 or 5. The room was great but i wish it had a shower only. I hate showering in a tub. The lounge was very nice but on the pricey side. The business center was great and helped me plan for the day. The surrounding area was nice and there is a lot of shopping, gallaries, and dining available. I will definitely come back!

This hotel was a bit more trendy or "cooler" than what I normally book. There were many Europeans staying there, which added to the cool factor.
