The New York Helmsley Hotel

Me gustó mucho la atención de todo el personal de este hotel, la ubicación y la habitación, que aunque estuvo pequeña, tenía todo lo necesario para pasar nuestra estancia de manera cómoda y excelente. También en el lobby bar y en el Restaurante que tienen atienden muy bien, Felicidades, lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Buena atención, personal atento y serio, dispuesto a colaborar. Su ubicación en el midown de New York lo hace un hotel privilegiado para aprovechar las atracciones que ofrece la ciudad. Instalaciones limpias y mantenidas para la comodidad de los visitantes.

El hotel esta recien remodelado y esta muy agradable y comodo, encuentras buenas tiendas y restaurantes muy cerca, el metro esta a una cuadra. Pero esta a 9 cuadras de Broadway y en la noche y cansado se te hacen como 20. pero si te gusta caminar no hay problema. La zona es buena, tranquila y nada peligrosa, agradable. EL PERSONAL DEL FRONT DESK, FUE POCO AMIGABLE, Y MUY POCO SERVICIAL

Buena situación. Bien en general.

Esta ubicado muy cerca de la estación Gran Central , la habitación muy amplia, siempre limpia, muy amables las personas que atienden en la recepción, hay un café al lado que sirven nos desayunos muy ricos. La tarifa que encontré en internet fue mejor que la que me dieron directo en el mesón (decidí quedarme 3 días más).

The hotel is in a nice location, and clean enough but does not ressemble the pictures on the website we saw. It is undergoing renovations and I think the online pics were more of an impression of what it will be like. We were told we were given a room upgrade but I'd hate to have seen the room we would have had. Very clean rooms, friendly staff. Close to it all

This was a first rate experience. The Hotel Staff clearly values your business and treats you as though you are a special guest.

The only thing we were not happy was there is no coffee machine or hot watering boiling kettle.

Great location near Grand Central and I got luck with and early morning check in

Stayed here for two wekday nights as the office is close by. The limited interaction I had with the service was very good. They did not however have the room with a king I had reserved but did offer to make one available the next night if I choose. The front was clean and attractive as were the hallways. I was on the 30th floor so there was minimal […] noise...but hey, it's New York. My room was clean but was dated. The dark green carpet had a few stains, the closet door had major gouges in it that had tried to be repaired and the wallpaper in areas was pulling away from the wall. The hair dryer didn't work. When you don't pack one because you know that one is provided that can be serious for some folks. In addition, you must pay for Interent access. A little odd to me since so many hotels not even as nice as this one offer this at no additional charge. I would say the stay was average yet the price was a little above average for the area on hotels[dot]com. If you are in a pinch due to occupancy in the area this hotel will do but I will be trying other hotels in the area before coming back to this one again. Leer más

The Helmsley was good for New Year's at Times Square. The room was spacious, the service was decent, especially considering the number of people coming in, but I would likely stay in a more interesting area next time.

This place is a dump. We checked in to find a half consumed cookie in the corner, stains on the floor and bed, a bathtub that wouldn't drain and an absent housekeeping crew. Not ideal at all.

Good internet connections expensive and hard to access. In this day and age, internet should be included

This is the second time l have stayed at this hotel and it was great, the only thing l would like too see is tea and coffee making items in the room but everything else was great.

We recently stayed at this hotel. We normally stay a few blocks over at the Grand Hyatt. We reserved a Premium King room which is one of the newly renovated rooms on Hotels.com and confirmed our reservation the night before. When we arrived we were checked-in by a woman named Pei who told us we had a Double bed room on a non-renovated floor I told her […] I did not believe that was correct and she was quite rude and let me know that I was incorrect and there were no Premium Rooms available. Thankfully I had a copy of my reservation in my luggage and took it out to show Pei. She refused to touch my paperwork and gave me a pen and told me to circle where it said the room we reserved was a Premium King. When I did as she instructed she took the paper and without saying anything walked away. She came back several minutes later, still not speaking to me and started working on the computer I interupted her and asked her if my room would be ready, without looking up from the computer she said we would be put into the Premium King, as I had reserved. She refused to speak to me after that, just handing us the room key and going back to the computer I really was surprised how rude she was. The Grand Hyatt go out of their way to be accomodating but we did not see this great attitude while checking in at the Helmsley. Leer más

Rooms are older. Need to be updated. Heat never worked in our room. Maint. man said it was controlled by hotel and nothing that he could do. We froze at night. The housekeepers were very noisy, slamming doors, speaking loudly, etc. It didn't help that they used the room in between ours and our children as a supply room. The check-in experience was not favorable. Despite a specific room type reservation thru hotels.com, the hotel tried to only provide a significantly downgraded room and bed-size. The manager worked it out and the room was quiet and clean. Furniture is cheap Colonial laminate and undersized. We arrived at 8pm and were told our room wasn't clean. An hour later we were given the wrong room. All the while the staff was unpleasant and dismissive. The room was adequately clean, but not up to par with the name of the hotel. The rooms are more spacious than is expected in Manhattan. Great location. Close to Subway Trains, Starbucks, UN and within walking distance to all the NYC attractions.

The hotel was great, except for the minor issue that they weren't ready with my room until an hour after I got there...at 10:30 PM. The hotel itself is really beautiful and the room was definitely nice!

Nice experience,staff was very pleasant and helpful and the room was very clean and quiet. The location was very close to subway.

Service good and clean. Very convenient to subway at Grand Central. The room we had, on top floor, with a nice view, could use a bit of a face lift. Rug looked a bit worn and there were cracks here and there (but they were painted over which showed that they tried to take care of it. The hotel staff, including the bell staff, front desk and restaurant could not have been more courteous and accommodating. My overall impression was very positive and my only dissapointment was how dated the rooms were. I'm confident Starwood Hotels will renovate this property to a level one would expect from a Starwood property.

Overall we had an excellent stay at your hotel but we had a couple of reservations. The lack of a coffee maker and refridgerator took some of the shine off the otherwise excellent room. We appreciate that these are difficult times but it is the little things that make the difference between average and special. the room was quite worn. Carpet was very dirty. The street noise is awful and there was construction going on in the building next door with noise very noticeable in the room. It might be a very nice hotel but the room I had was not .

Good value for money and location near to Grand Central Station. Friendly helpful staff . Would happily stay here again.

The hotel is pretty old and could use a facelift. The place is very convenient to Grand Central Terminal. The room was clean but clearly very dated. The wardrobe that used to hold the old large tube-style TV was still in the room even though there was a flat screen TV mounted on the wall. So it was just a large useless cabinet that simply has a huge […] open space in the center of it. They should get rid of the cabinets as they get rid of the old tube TV's. There was no TV channel guide in the room. The doormen were very good about hailing taxis and greeting me coming and going. Room service breakfast was okay but pricey. The housekeepers were friendly and greeted me each day in the hallway. If you get a great rate, book it. Otherwise I honestly would not rush back but instead would look for a hotel that was newer or more recently renovated. Leer más

We do love the location of this hotel in Midtwon East but based on the rating and "name", we were disappointed with our stay. We had to place 3 calls and go downstairs just to get a remote control for the TV, since our phone stopped working as well. For a 4-star hotel, we expected better customer service. We were very satisfied with the hotel and room. It was very convenient to the United Nations and Grand Central Station.

The Helmsley Hotel is the perfect base from which to explore Manhattan. We were lucky enough to be on the 40th floor with a view of both the Empire State and Chrysler buildings from our spacious, comfortable room.
