My family and I had a 0715 am appointment to tour the White House on 12/23/2011, so we took a chance and booked this hotel. Wow, we pleasantly surprised! You could see the White House from the front of the hotel.It was a 10-15 minute walk from hotel to White House. We weren't too thrilled with having to pay $42.00 to park our vehicle, but you have to […] just do it sometimes! From the valet attendants to the front desk, all were friendly. We were given a very nice corner room that was clean and well furnished. Nothing seemed worn as well. The hot water could have been a little hotter for our taste, though. The hotel restaurant does need to add a few things to their dinner menu if you have have teens. We ended up eating outside of the hotel for this reason. The concierge was really helpful with this . The next morning when we checked out, the concierge checked our suitcases for us as would be not leaving right away due to our tours( we did the U.S. Capitol as well) This was a big help to us. All in All , this is a very nice clean, safe hotel that I would highly recommend if you are visiting Washington, D.C. Leer más

You will notice that the hotel rooms are small and dated, but you cannot beat the location (few blocks from the white house). The room was not as clean as we had hoped, but we were only there for one night. I would recommend this hotel for the price, but if you find a better deal and good location, then take it.

We had an Executive King suite for NYE and it was very comfortable. The bathrooms and bedroom were very clean. We will definitely come back to this hotel.

The hotel was great. Stayed there for NYE, everything was awesome about it. A few days later, however, a temporary authorized charge for 75 dollars appeared on my credit card statement. Tried contacting the hotel to find out the reason. No one there was able to explain the charge and they kept sending me in loops from department to department, most […] of which never picked up the first or second time I contacted them. Issue is still unresolved. I checked out on time, left the room in decent conditions. Yeah, I didn't make the beds, but I wouldn't think that is the reason for the charge. A little annoyed. Maybe the charge will disappear as quietly as it appeared on my card statement. Maybe someone at the Hilton will finally be able to answer my question as to why it appeared. Until then, I'm certainly going to think twice before reserving a room there again. Leer más

the spa closed way too early n you would think they would of had a pool or a hot tub seeing how nice the hotel was but unfortunetly they didnt not have a pool nor a hot tub

This was my first time staying at the Capital Hilton in DC and it was great! The hotel staff was very nice and the location was perfect. My room was clean and I had the best angus burger I have ever had!

Room was reasonably clean, but could have been a little cleaner. One bathroom light was out our entire 3-day stay, and we did not get a bath mat after the first day. Pillows were also too mushy, but bet was comfortable. Hotel's rented parking garage had operational problems, but hotel valet staff were as accommodating as they could be. A great location to visit all the sights. Metro station on the doorstep. an amazing breakfast. Great hotel but we got a very good deal because it was Labour Day weekend and Washington was quiet. Hotel was 5 star and could not fault it for anything.

I didn't check into the hotel until 11:00 pm but felt perfectly safe to walk the 2 1/2 blocks to the White House. Washington is a fun place to walk around at night, especially the monuments on the mall. This is a perfect hotel for that as well as day time travels. I was only in the hotel for 8 hours and left at 9:00 the next morning.

The staff were extremely nice, made me feel like I was a regular. Definitely a recommended hotel, I'll visit it again in less than a month.

Good Service. The conceirege was very good in guiding me to the right places and provided good insight. The Rooms were big and clean. Breakfast was excellent

Spent one night, Labor Day weekend. Staff was courteous and helpful. Restaurant being renovated but breakfast available in lobby lounge. Close to White House and able to walk to museums and monuments.

Amazing location for downtown sightseeing. Closest Metro stop is McPherson Square. Recent renovation accounted for nice interior. Bed comfort wasn't awesome. Bath fan was dirty. Service was par excellance.

Chose this Hilton for its location, although it is not as close to the White House as its map indicates. The location ended up being not a perfect fit for us as we did a lot of touring on buses, all of which picked up people closer to the White House, which was about 7 blocks away - and we made numerous trips there in 100-degree heat :-) Hotel was a […] bit tired looking, but clean. Room spacious, quiet, very comfortable. Great price. Staff very accommodating - when our Internet code to access free WI-FI in the public area didn't work, they gave us free Internet for our stay. When they had to shoo us along from the continental breakfast that came with our room, they gave us a coupon for a free breakfast in the main lobby restaurant. Friendly staff, although concierge was not very knowledgeable about places to eat - we were looking for a "local's" opinion, but he kept steering us to a list of restaurants the hotel hands out. Very updated rooms and baths. Restaurant is delicisous with some of the best food and service we have had!

My husband, son and I stayed at the Capital Hilton for an overnight weekend visit and couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. We had asked for a room with 2 queen beds but we didn't arrive to check in until well after check in time so they didn't have any queen beds left, but they upgraded us to an executive suite with 2 double beds and […] it was actually a better deal, so we were very happy. A very comfortable room and the staff could not have been nicer. Not to mention the breakfast buffet included in the cost of the room. A definite must for any visit to our nation's capital. Leer más

I expeerienced a first class, 5 star property.

Everythis was great we had a nice room and experience at this hotel. The staff was helpful and polite the we truly professional.

Our overall experience was wonderful. Only negative was the drink prices at the hotel lounge. We stopped for drinks after the Nationals- Mets game & the bill was $150! But the hotel itself was great. Good locations for sight-seeing & to the Metro. Service was top notch & our room was beautiful, clean, comfortable & spacious. We had a great stay at the Capitol Hilton July 16 - 18th. Check-in went smoothly and we received a room on a higher floor at the end of a hall that was perfect. The hotel location was within a short walking distance to all the tourist sights. Hotel registration staff did not give us our breakfast vouchers that were to be included until the second day […] so they gave us a credit for one nights parking. We were very satisfied with this! We had dinner at a local Italian restaurant, Luigi's, as recommeded by concierge that had great food. My husband said it was the best fettucini ever. The Capital Hilton is very close to the historic sites. The hotel is quiet and comfortable.

I'm pleased with our recent stay at the Capitol Hilton -- very comfortable, commodious, even elegant. Location is okay -- about a $10 cab ride from almost anywhere on the tourist map, except the White House, which is pratically across the street. We had paid in advance, but a room was not "turned over" for us until after 9:30 pm. --An hour and a half wait! We were offered free internet and free breakfast for "our inconvenience." --But we were told when we made our reservation that those were included anyway. The staff in the dining room then told us the free breakfast didn't count for our children!! […] We were also not allowed late checkout despite the fact that we were told the night before that "lots of people must have checked out late!!!- Overall not a good experience- it was difficult with young children.to wait until after 9:30 to get our room. Check in found that our room was not ready--- tho we had paid in advance, our room would not be done by housekeeping until after 9:30pm---leaving travel weary people waiting in the lobby!! The next day we asked for a late check-out and were told they didn't have one. We were given free breakfast and free internet for our inconvenience---- both are […] given free to all customers! At breakfast the waitress told us oh no, the free breakfast did not cover the children --- we would need to pay for them. No iron in the room tho there was an ironing board. Leer más

The metro is just one block from the hotel. It is exceptionally clean and the staff is very helpful. All in all is it excellent value for your hard-earned money.

If you want to stay in the city near the White House but within small distance of Dupont Circle, this is the place. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms are renovated with a super shower. Flat screen TV with a decent selection of channels. Plush towels. Service staff were friendly. Multiple window coverings guaranteed it was dark at night, despite surrounding […] buildings and street lights. Some street noise, but the windows seemed to shut most of it out. We didn't have a chance to try the restaurant or room service. We were on the 5th floor, but never seemed to wait long for an elevator. This hotel is a notch or two in price above the suburban hotels, but you save time and money from not having to travel into the city (plus we got a decent discount thru Hotels.com). Lots of good restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance. Area seemed to be very safe. Having usually stayed across the river in Va., we found this to be a pleasant change and perfect for all our in-city activities. Highly recommend it! Leer más

rude staff, dirty rooms and overpriced everything, do i need to say more....

It is a nice stay at Capital Hilton. The only complain is the high price of valet parking (like every other hotel in DC).

My stay at the Capital Hilton was a pleasurable one. I requested a room with two double beds and was kindly upgraded to executive room with one sofa bed and one queen bed since the Deluxe Double Bed room wasn't available. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. I would certainly stay there again. The location is central to everything.

This is a great hotel, very close to the White House and the Mall, nice neighborhood, excellent service. I gave it four stars because the sound proofing was not good. If you are lucky with your neighbors next door, it's not a problem - mine was talking on her cell phone all night, and I could hear through the wall every word she was saying. 2 major beefs with the Cap Hilton: 1) when we checked in, I requested champagne glasses. 2 hours later, I called and asked again. Did we get them? No. 2) we paid the outrageous $42 per night for parking. When it was time to leave, we were directed to a window for the valet. How long were we told we'd wait? 45 minutes! That's almost $1 per minute to […] be inconvenienced. A 45 minute wait to get the car is even more outrageous than the fee to park it overnight. And when we went in to complain, the front desk had an "it's a private company" attitude that was very disappointing. The hotel itself was nice, the room was spacious (the bathroom was itty bitty), and the staff was mostly accomodating, but having to wait an eternity for the car we paid a premium to park left a terrible taste in our mouths, and we will not be returning to stay again. We booked a king size room. When we checked into the room it was a small room with a queen size bed overlooking the airconditioning units. I called the front desk and was told according to the computer it was a king room. However, they did change our room and the 2nd room was very nice, much larger and a king size bed. This hotel has everything we wanted plus a great location. The people were delightful and the room was more than we had expected. It was large, beautifully appointed and quiet. The duvet cover and bath accessories were all first class. Lots of pillows on the bed added to our comfort.
