What an amazing experience. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The hotel is very, very nice and it is obvious that this hotel is newly decorated. I was shocked they had a tanning bed.. I loved this hotel, the only issue i had was that it is in Germany.. I absolutely did not like Germany and I will never go back.

We stayed for 5 nights at this hotel over the New Year. From the moment we arrived, we received cheerful, polite and very efficient service. The room was bright ,clean and very comfortable. This is a very nice hotel in "die Mitte". Almost everything was good, except that you need too walk for 10-15 min to the Underground. It is not recommended to take taxi downdown because of the traffic.

Location is not perfect, it's not walking distance to any sights. Checkout staff is not over friendly. Conciege service is very good.

The Good. - Not as isolated as other reviews make it out to be. This hotel is only a 10 minute stroll from the Nordorfplatz U Bahn station and 2 minutes to the Tiergarten.. All attractions are within inexpensive and reach. The rooms are large, quiet and clean. The pool is excellent! A great bed & a great (lots of hot water) shower. The Bad - Beware […] that extras cost money. Fifteen euro for a rum & coke in the bar is outrageous but 6 euro for the bottle of water on your dresser is ridiculous (no it certainly isn't free!). Breakfast is simply highway robbery. There are a couple of small cafes on the way to the U Bahn station where you can get a good bite to eat at a fraction of the cost. The Ugly - That 6 euro bottle of water the one the maid forgot in one of our 3 rooms. There will be a 150 euro block put on your credit card when you check in. Ensure you make sure it is removed! I had to call back to complain that they had not removed it after a week (on three rooms). There was also an unauthorized debit on one room that they could not explain. All were to be reversed. Eight days later I'm still waiting. Beware that if you are travelling with family that this is a business hotel. That said you;ll find prostitutes in the local area at night. The hotel was of a very good standard but kacked charm It felt like a businessmans hotel. Also location was not ideal as it was located in the Diplomats area and was approx 500m from the underground and on a side line.

lovely hotel.( 1st hotel we've stayed with no tea or coffee making facilities). room superb, bathroom great. beds comfortable.

My wife and I visited Brussels, Baden-Baden, Munich, Berlin and Cologne this summer. This was the only 5-star hotel we stayed in. Although it is very beautiful and "ritzy" it was our least favorite stay. The reason is primarliy the location. It took a 9 minute walk to a small U-Bahn station that had very limited connections. Stayed at the Esplanade recently - it's certainly a high quality hotel but it feels somewhat isolated from any real nightlife, or even stores for that matter. I had to keep getting in taxis to go meet friends out in Mitte, and it was about a 10-15 minute walk out of the hotel before I discovered any stores, or restaurants nearby. The hotel itself […] is definitely very nice, as are the restaurant/bars - however the wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed by not that many customers and service was sometimes slow ( I had to give up on getting a drink at the bar at 7.45 pm even though no one was at the bar, because there was no available bartender). The other strange thing was the comforter on my king size bed was super short - half-length - and I had to turn it sideways to cover myself...lol. If I had been staying with my girlfriend we would have had to ask for another comforter for the other side of the bed... This is a beautiful modern-style hotel. The rooms and views were great. Service was excellent, although a bit on the expensive side. Harry's New York bar was hopping on Friday night. The concierge was attentive. We would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Great hotel, big size rooms and excellent service

We love this hotel! The staff were all so kind and helpful. The pool is a real bonus and the spa is well worth it ( you are expected to go naked). We had breakfast round the corner at Einstein Cafe which is superb and highly recommended. Coffee and a cake at the hotel is a bargain. When we go to Berlin again we will definately stay here .

The Hotel Grand Esplanade is a true five star accommodation. The room was beautiful, the staff friendly, and the ammnnities were plentiful. The only drawback to the hotel was that it was a bit far from any outside entertainment. Top quality hotel in Berlin. Great room and most of the staff are very helpful. You will have to get a cab or take the bus to get to any action spots. If the Concierge gives you directions, double check them. Got recommendation for a restaurant - cab could not find - ended up having to walk down an alley, take an elevator to the 7th floor, then had […] a great dinner! They are not big on details. The hotel was exeptionally clean, the only critisism I have is that on all of the occassions we visited the restaurant or bar, the staff seemed to take a long time to acknowledge us. Our stay at the Esplande exceeded our expectations. I travel frequently around the US, and quality of the hotel and the rooms at the Esplanade exceed any hotel I've ever stayed at in the US. The service is absolutely exceptional. Whenever we ordered something for our room like a hot water pot or laundry service, the staff was at our door in about […] a minute. When booking this hotel I had to rely on the hotels webpage and the general rating given to this hotel. I could not find any customer reviews for this hotel. I was pleasantly pleased when the elevators opened I saw the lobby. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only complaint I had with checking in was with myself. When I booked the room, I thought […] I had booked a junior suite. Well, I must have gotten it confused because I had booked a City Comfort room. This was a family vacation and I needed an extra bed for my fourteen year old son. The receptionist imformed me that someone bring up the bed. When I stepped into the room I could not see where the bed was going to go. The housekeeping staff arrived shortly after and reconfigured the room and put up the twin size roll-a-way bed. Amazingly enough, everything fit nicely and my son was very confortable with his bed. The room was nicely done and looked exactly like the picture on the website. The hotel is within walking distance to everything and there are cabs always outside the hotels. The only downside to this hotel was the maintainence and upkeep of the city park area. When we first arrived grass and shubbery was a bit overgrown in the park and the statues in the park has been spray painted with graffiti. On day two, we noticed that the city workers had cut the grass and the hedges. The hotel has a three resturants, bar and lounge area. The food was good but expensive. They serve a breakfast buffet every morning with a lot of options to choose from. The hotel also have a spa, solarium, and pool. The only facility I used was the pool. It was smaller than I initally expected but nice. We actually had the pool to ourselves. Towels are provided and the longe area had nice comfy lounge chairs. My family had a pleasant stay and will stay here again when we visit Berlin again. Leer más

Did not have any issues with the hotel but found it to be in a seemingly isolated and discouraging no other restaurants nor shopping were immediately around the hotel.

The employees were all excellent and very helpful, with very good English skills. It was clean, and very nice. But it was very expensive! They charged us 10 Euros for a liter bottle of water! The rest of the food and beverages were also quite high, so we ate in other places. It was a long walk to some places, but the bus and tourist "hop-on hop-off" […] bus was close. Friendly staff, clean room/bathroom, comfortable beds and a great cocktail lounge! I will be going back to Berlin sometime soon and will be sure to use this hotel again.

Nydelig rom, superb service! Litt langt fra sentrum, mye taxi! Alt i alt meget bra!

Høy standard og komfort. Behjelpelig personell og god service. Baren har spesielt gode drinker.

Hotellet er flott og med store, komfortable rom. Stille område. Fasilitetene inneholder aktiviteter for store og små. Gangavstand til KaDeWe. Kort taxitur til det meste andre av severdigheter. Vi var fornøyd med oppholdet og dra gjerne tilbake.

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und komfortabel. Die Lage sowie die Busverbindungen waren top. Vom Preis her war das Hotel auch sehr empfehlenswert. Das Hotel ist auf jeden Fall weiterzuempfehlen.

Lækkert hotel , men lever ikke helt op til sine fem stjerner. Alt kostede ekstra - kildevanden som stod fremme på værelset, internet osv. ikke gratis kaffe osv som ellers er standard på lang de fleste fire stjernde hoteller - men som sagt lækkert hotel, pæne superene værelser og en legendarisk hotelbar!

Hotellet levede fuldt ud op til vores forventninger og der kan ikke sættes en finger på hverken personales professionalisme eller hotellets øvrige kvaliteter. Måske kunne man ønske sig en lidt større Pool. Vi kan varmt anbefale Hotel Esplanade...

Flotte rom, komfortabel dobbeltseng, utsikt mot elven. Fellesområdene i hotellet er også veldig bra. Litt høye priser i hotellbaren. Avhengig av drosje for å komme til kjøpesenter og julemarked. Veldig rimelig hotell til standarden.

Ikke mye å trekke på her, men frokost til 22 euro pr pers er i drøyeste laget!
