This is a wonderful hotel, well located and a bargain at the rates we got at Hotels.com. We will stay there again if the rates continue to be so competitive

I really enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is modern and there was always activity in the lobby. This is not a stuffy hotel. The staff was friendly, like part of the family. We got extra cookies just by asking. Housekeeping even put extra coffee in our room. This was the perfect weekend hotel.

Clean hotel. Only 1 block off the Magnificent Mile and a clean surrounding area. Very spacious room and bathroom compared to other older hotels in the area. Bed was very soft which is not my preference but the linens did stay in place!

The hotel was very nice. We were there with 2 children, and it was quite comfortable for us all. Showe had low pressure and took forever to get the shampoo out of the kid's hair. Rooms were very quiet, couldn't hear any of the neighbor rooms which was great. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. Parking was diffucult and expensive. Car got scuffed up twice over the 5 days with others parking too close, so that was a bummer, but not the hotel's fault. Overall would stay there any time. Very nice property.

Hotel was great. Had all the amenities needed and the room was very comfortable. Hotel was located close to entertainment and shopping making the stay very pleasurable.

We enjoyed our stay at the Doubletree Magnificent Mile. The location is superb, just a short walk from Michigan Avenue. The room was very nice, and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Paid extra for the lake view, and we got a nice view. However, since the hotel isn't right on the water, the view of the lake isn't free of obstacles. There are a few buildings between the hotel and the lake. Still, it was a nice view, and worth the little extra that we paid. If we were to have one complaint, it would be the price of parking. We knew the price before I made the reservation, so we weren't upset. It does, however, seem a bit excessive, but as long as you know ahead of time, you can factor parking into your total costs. Summary - A very nice hotel, well worth the money, at a great location in downtown Chicago. If we go back to that area again, we would most definitely stay there again.

It was comfortable with a nice atmosphere. It was conveniently located and within walking distance of shopping on Michigan Ave and numerous restaurants.

This hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly. It was conveniently located to restaurants, shopping and "places to visit". The room was beautifully decorated and roomy....we enjoyed our time at this hotel.

My family and I had a great time at the Doubletree Hotel Chicago! The staff was very helpful and friendly! The location was great as well. We were within walking distance to Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile!

I travel about once a month - to give you a point of reference as to where this review is coming from. I recently stayed at this hotel for a conference at the nearby Navy Pier. The hotel was within walking distance, but for those who prefer to cab it it's a $5 ride. The hotel itself is in good shape, my room was comfortable, well furnished, clean. Minor wear and tear, but not dilapidated by any means. Staff was courteous, professional, and overall a good reflection of Chicago - I understand people are very friendly overall. I would recommend this hotel to business travelers, and would stay there again with family. Overall value was good. There are a lot of restaurants nearby, including Gino's Pizza.

The Doubletree had a great location to the pier and Michigan Ave. Our room was very clean, the beds comfortable. Our only complaint, no counter space in the bathroom for sunderies. We were on the 21st floor and also had a partial view of the lake as a bonus.

Hotel is modern, clean, and nice! Two blocks away from the mag. mile and an overall wonderful place to stay. We will be back!

Within walking distance of several main attractions and restaurants. The hotel staff was friendly. The concierge was very helpful in providing directions and best mode of transportation. The only negative would be the bathtub did not drain properly.

The bed in the room is extremely comfortable which is all that I can really say about this hotel. The room was dirty - there was dust all over the bedside tables. Maybe an oversight by the cleaning crew, but not what I would expect from this hotel. The front desk personnel were very friendly. The restaurant in the hotel offers few choices on the menu, so we had to walk several blocks to find restaurants. The additional $9.95 fee to use internet in the room is a rip-off; there is free Wifi in the lobby however. Oh, and the "lake view" is not a view! You can barely see the lake from the hotel location.

the area was great - the only thing that was misleading is that while the hotel is 3 blocks away from the magnificent mile, it isn't ON the magnificent mile; otherwise, the hotel was very nice & the staff was very helpful & friendly.

Overall a nice hotel in a great location. The beds were nice and plush. The only problem was the bathroom. The toilet was very noisey when flushed. and the sink was pretty, but had such a poor design that water was constantly spilling all over the back of the counter.

i was really impressed with this hotel.. loved the warm chocolate chip cookie that we got when we first checked in.. the room was very clean and comfortable.. the only complaint that i had was the fact that i had to pay for the wireless internet if i wanted to use that.. but i suppose you'll have that.. i was very pleased with this hotel and will probably stay in more doubletrees for other trips

After 10:00PM on the weekends there is only 3 items available on room service...very limitied

Everything about the hotel was great except two things. First, I booked this hotel because it had a rooftop swimming pool with a bar, and rooftop lounges are "all the rage" in chicago. Our pool and lounge area were closed for the season during our stay. Although it was the end of September, we were not informed that it would be closed, and I had a friend staying at the Hilton, and his pool and lounge area were still open. Second, the Doubletree does not validate parking. So, you park in the Doubletree lot, check in at the hotel, and when you leave you have to pay to get your car out of the garage...and it's expensive!!

Three friends and I stayed overnight at the Doubletree and had a wonderful experience from check in to check out. We were warmly welcomed; the room was very nice, we were close to public transportation and shopping, etc.; and when we left we were treated in the same warm manner we were welcomed with.

We went to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and had a fabulous time. Everyone in the hotel was very accommodating including the concierge, front desk and the door man. The beds were amazing - great, soft comforter and pillows, felt like home! It was centrally located to everything we wanted to see - Sears Tower, Navy Pier, Water Tower Place. Would definitely stay there again!

We reserved a King Lakeview (non-refundable) room. The hotel is beautiful (on the inside) - you can tell it has been recently remodeled. The lobby space is lovely and the staff was very nice and helpful. The cookies at check-in were a nice touch. Our room was on the 25th floor (out of 26) and our "lakeview" was pretty minimal. Technically you could see the lake, but nothing I'd recommend paying extra for at this hotel. Also, our room was on the backside of the elevators, so we could hear the cables running all night. If we were more high-maintenance, or lighter sleepers we would have demanded a room change, but as it was we were tired from our day and when we turned on the room fan it muffled the noise slightly. Overall our stay was very nice. The location is convenient to a lot of different venues and an easy cab ride to those that aren't quite walkable.

Hotel room was great, location good, shower very nice but elevators were down on Monday when everyone was checking out. Waited 15 minutes, asked a maid to let us use service elevator. D4 saloon across street has great brunch

Two night stay with no fresh towels or room cleaning until we requested it. When we asked for trash to be picked up, we were given trash can liners and emptied the trash ourselves. We requested baby cribs two days before arrival and had to repeat the request upon arrival. One of the two rooms was not ready at the 3:00pm promised time.

The hotel was nice enough. Great location. They could stand to remove/clean the heating vent in the bathroom that looks pretty nasty. But overall, it's an OK place for a chain hotel. Don't expect the concierge to help you though. The guy on duty when we were there had no idea where one the Chicago Theater was. That's one of the primary theaters in Chicago. And he wasn't aware of the concert there, which was a big one and a four-day stint. We thought it was funny that he had a button on that said "Catch me at my best." We wondered when that time might be... The other concierge had little or no personality and didn't really seem interested in answering my simple questions. That's the downfall of staying at a chain hotel I guess.

Bags took a while to get up to room but other than that a fabulous experience.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to the Navy Pier and a couple blocks from the bus stop that takes you directly to the museums. Would definitely stay there again!

My family and I enjoyed the convenience of the short walking distance to the Magnificent Mile from the hotel. The rooms were appropriate and the staff was very gracious and accomodating. The only suggestion(s) that we have for the Doubletree Hotel is to invest in cleaning the carpets in the front lobby. First impressions are just that-the carpet stain was what we noticed initially, but the greeting by the staff member named Cookie quickly distracted us and allowed us to start a great weekend and begin to enjoy the hotel amenities.

Everything was great about this hotel. We parked at the next parking structure instead of the hotel, which saved a bit of money. Didn't like finding a charge on our credit card for something we didn't use.

The staff here was wonderful. They were friendly and offered great advice for a first time Chicago stay. Great location, walking distance to several attractions. Will stay here again.

Great location. Rooms are nice but bathrooms are small and could use up grades. Towels only cahnged once per day.
