Marriott Glasgow

Stayed here for a work's party in Feb 12. Despite the fact the hotel seemed pretty busy the room was very quiet. Bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was good. The area immediately around the Marriott is basically motorway and underpasses, with a 10 minute walk into the daylight... so it loses a star for location, although as I was there for a party […] I didn't go out much anyway. This was a stay due to SECC concert and the hotel looked lovely and clean. Room 110 was opposite building works in the hotel and the floor had plastic sheet on it. Not exactly 4* comfort, room was lacking basic upkeep and bedding was marked. Biggest issue was an air lock in the heating system so no room heating and they were fully booked so no other […] alternatives. I am now still abscent from work after picking up a chill due to their negligence. My pregnant wife faired slightly better and managed 8 hours sleep to my 4/5 hours. Pleasant staff, ideal location.Comfortable room but bathroom and shower condition dated and in need of upgrading.Overall i would recommend this hotel for short stays as the location is excellent for motorway access, city centre shopping and theatre's.Dining is over priced for limited menu choice.If you are staying at this hotel,guests paying top prices […] should not be charged same daily parking rates as short stay overnight's. Hotel was lovely and staff very courteous. Very comfortable. Leisure facilities difficult to access from the main hotel with lots of stairs - could be a problem if any mobility issues. No jacuzzi.

4* hotel now showing signs of neglect. Various building repairs have been there for some time but I still stay here because it's a comfortable and quiet hotel. Wasn't that easy to get to, found it quick enough but did 3 laps of the orbital road/town centre to get to the right road to the hotel. Good reception service, comfortable room on the 5th floor but the fridge was not in service, the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work and the ice cube machine and snack vending machine was out of order. Firstly, the positive-the hotel staff are delightful, very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, this hotel has minor irritations, which started to add up. For a start one of this lifts was broken. This meant a long wait for the lift and then when it did arrive is was packed full-rather cosy for my liking. Then it […] took about 15 minutes of wandering about (using the stairs due to the overcrowded lift) so I could find a working ice machine to chill my bottle of white wine! I was sharing with my daughter and we both had large double beds, which were very comfortable. Unfortunately, we were woken at 1.30am by noisy guests slamming doors and chatting until 2am. Also it is very stuffy in the room and the window only opens a fraction. I was also looking forward to using the leisure facilities but was disappointed to find that there was no hot tub/jacuzzi and this was primarilly the reason why I booked this hotel. Saying that the pool was pleasant and very clean. We did enjoy our stay but these small touches help to elevate it from a pleasant enough trip to a fantastic stay. Leer más

Generally satisfied. Good breakfast, friendly, helpful staff. Good location, quiet yet still within ten minutes walk of Central station. Only downsides, were slow check in, though I suspect it was a trainee member of staff, which is understandable, and heating/air con control in our room didn't work. I asked for a early check in and i got it, the Hotel is very clean , rooms nice and big, its a good place to stay, staff are very nice and the breakfast is excellent in the Morning,

Very nice comfortable,convenientstay. Easy parking with no reason to move the car.(close to everything) Likely the best breakfast buffet of our trip.We will choose this hotel on our next visit.

The Marriott is a good quality hotel with excellent, efficient service, 10 min walk from Glasgow city centre. Our room was lovely and meals were good value. We had a great time in the city and particularly enjoyed the fantastic museums and galleries.

All that could be asked for during our stay was covered off. Reception was friendly, parking was fine, lifts all in working order, room was perfect, breakfast was good, checkout was quick and all staff were courteous and friendly. First time staying at Marriott, I will be back for another stay, hotel spotlessly clean, room very comfortable. Very civilised breakfast time, up to midday, which is great at the weekend, although I do believe that this was because the hotel was very busy. A great choice at breakfast. Hotel staff very pleasant and attentive.

First time at this hotel. Got good discounted rate. Room big with king size comfy bed. TV was on with personal welcome message, nice touch. Bathroom fair size. Shower not that powerful but served the purpose. Hot & cold buffet breakfast served until 1200 in bright dining room. Staff very polite & helpful. Approx 10 min walk to Argyle Street. Very good hotel, nice room/comfortable, good location close to the Central station and city centre. Great breakfast, ideal for our short stay

Overall very good. Ice maker on 5th floor did not work in spite of reporting it to reception on 2 days.

I chose this hotel for the price, but it turned out to be a good choice for many reasons. It was clean, quiet, and the service was excellent. Of particular note was the helpful concierge desk - our stay was wonderful in part due to their guidance. Rooms were larger than standard UK rooms - nicely decorated and very comfortable. Hotel sits back off the […] main road and made for quiet sleeping. Cons: a little off the beaten path. Although the tour buses come right in front of the hotel, you should plan to walk quite a bit to get to anything. It would be difficult to stay here and not use the red-bus, subway (which we never used) or taxi. Overall - a nice place to stay. I'd lodge here again if returning to Glasgow. This hotel really is excellant, rooms are so comfortable and clean, staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast was terrific, lots to choose from and freshly cooked, close to city centre and car parking available, ideal

The hotel was fine, just like every other Marriott anywhere in the world. The service was below the typical Marriott standard, we pulled up the the front of the Hotel with 2 van, 9 people staying in 5 rooms for 2 nights each and was told we could not unload the bags or the passengers, when I asked where we could go to unload I was told "over there" […] but there was not a place for anyone to park "over there" so I ended up in the loading dock. I found the staff to be most polite and helpful. The 2hr free extended check out time was a god send after a late late night out.

Having stayed at the Hilton Hotel Glasgow last year (5 Star), I cannot believe how the Marriott Hotel Glasgow has only 4 Stars as the hotel is fantastic. The staff are very polite and could not do anymore for you. The restaurant and bar areas are fantastic, formal yet with an atmosphere and the rooms are out of this world. Would strongly recommend the […] Marriot and also the Spa facilities after having a full body massage. Great time had by my wife and I and rest assured we will be back before the year is out. just a short walk to the city and shops. easy to access from m8 motorway handy for railway station this is our 3rd stay this year will be back. the only thing missing is refridgerators in the rooms

Superb staff, lovely hotel....cant wait to go back!

hotel staff friendly and help full room comfortable we were on floor 6 there was no noise to keep us awake .there was never above a minutes wait for one of the three very good lifts.The breakfast was excellent there was a wide choice to suit anybody,s food likes and dislikes, and plenty of it we had a great three nights and will certainly be back only […] one fault i had the windows outside could do with a clean. Found hotel room excellent,surprised no fridge though.Bed was really comfortable.Staff at reception very helpful especially the concierges who gave great advice/info and helped booking good restaurants. Breakfast service was ok,staff were clearing tables all the timewhen eating without asking if you were finished. Downside in hotel was slow/bad service […] in lounge.First day after telling waiter we wanted a minute to look at bar menu he never came back.I left my partner there and went to Tesco and got two sandwiches.When I got back,in all @ 20mins she still hadn't been served.We just gave up.On second night we order a drink from waitress in the lounge.Our order was made up and left on the bar but she disappeared. After 10mins I went to the bar to get our drinks.No one seems to know whats going on.This side is really letting the hotel down. Overall as long as we didn't use the bar everything else was good. Everything was excellent about the hotel APART from the terrible nights sleep I had. There was a function on in the hotel and the music kept me awake. I phoned the reception and was given an apoplogy but obviously there was nothing that could be done. Receptionist said the function would be finished at 2 am, however the clocks went forward that weekend […] so it was 3am when the music stopped! Then I was woken up by people shouting and carrying on in the corridor outside my room at 4 30am. Then the television switched itself on at 7 15am!!! Wasn't a case of "wake up happy" for me! I was rather disappointed with the heating in the room (415) - it was cold. The heater was only blowing cold air and therefore the room did not heat up. Reception was contacted and someone from maintenance came along to have a look. He suggested to reception that myself and mum (who is 81) be moved to another room (421). On arrival at that room - same […] problem again. Not a happy lady. Again I contacted reception and informed them that the problem with heating was same as previous room. I couldn't face being moved again and suggested they provide me with a heater - this was done. I was extremely disappointed as I had never stayed in the Marriott Hotel before (I normally go to the Crown Plaza) - unless heating problem was restored I don't see myself returning. Hotel was nice and in a good location. Parking was a bit busy, but there was a function on at the hotel. The room service was good and very prompt in service. The only complaint was the room temperature. The first night was really warm and system for room control did not work correctly. Informed hotel in the morning and they sent maintenance to fix. […] On return room was cooler due to window being open. The next night when we got back the room was again very warm and still not operating correctly.Breakfast was excellent. Overall nice stay apart from the room feeling like a sauna. Leer más

Hotels position is further out than say the Radisson Blue but is only a 10 min walk to the centre. With lots of restaurants if you don't fancy eating in the hotel. The health club ( although along a tortuous route up and down stairs to reach it as a hotel guest is good with a shallow pool,sauna and steam room and an excellent gym with all equiptment. […] Breakfast was amazing and in the room rate was a real bonus.
