I had booked the hotel for the Chicago marathon and this was very very conviniently located a mile away from the start line. Also, the hotel itself was great, their room service was excellent and the staff at the front desk was very helpful too. The food in the hotel itself is pretty expensive and not that good but there are a lot of restaurants at a walking distance from the hotel! Highly recommended!

good location for downtown activities being right on michigan avenue. plenty of nearby restaurants with varied types of foods. small bathroom. well equiped exercise facility. don't valet park -too expensive and several garages nearby.

was a little disappointed in the amenities. The first night the pool and the whirlpool (which is why we decided to stay there) was out of order. Eventually the did get the pool opened back up, but did not get the whirlpool open the entire weekend that we were there. The Saturday night that we were there, a group of kids also picked that particular hotel to have their hotel party. Upon the 3rd disruption of the night, we notified security and they promptly took care of the problem. We did not hear a thing the rest of the night. We were a little disappointed at check out when the front desk did not seem concerned as to whether we had a good stay or not. She was very rushed to get us checked out even though there was no line behind us. Despite all that, the stay was excellent and we will definitely go back there again.

The room was very comfortable and plenty big enough for two people. The location was within a half-hour walk of the three things we needed: Randolf St. (Millennium) Station, Oriental Theatre, and Michigan Avenue shopping. Less than a block away was a bus stop that took us to the museums. With the exception of the museums, it was easy to stop back at the hotel to drop off shopping bags or take a nap. The concierge (Polly) was especially helpful, making restaurant reservations and giving us a coupon that allowed us to cut the restaurant line. The only problem we had was the long line for check in and check out.

The hotel lobby is beautiful, and the location perfect for those looking to be right on the Magnificent Mile. We were walking distance to all shops/eateries etc. The room was nice, it fit the price, the only complaint is the bathroom is really tiny, we had children so bathing them was a bit of a challenge. We used the valet parking, and even though it was a few dollars more, it was totally worth it for convenience We would use the hotel again in the future!

Friendly staff, superb location. 7 day advance purchase offered a great price, we added a day but were not able to get the reduced rate which nearly doubled the price for the additional day.

Two elevators were broken and it took 25 minutes to get down from the 32nd floor. We tried to get a drink at the hotel bar and after waiting for 20 minutes we left. The carpet in our room was wet. The bed was very uncomfortable. The location was good.

This hotel was a nice place to stay. However, for the location and price I was expecting the room to be a little nicer. The shower faucets especially were outdated and the bathroom felt claustrophobic. However, there are improvements happening in the lobby including a new bar and a Starbucks. So maybe they are going to update the plumbing fixtures as well. Almost all the staff were nice except for the valet. We were not ready to take our vehicle out of the garage and did not have a place for our luggage. The concierge said to have the valet put our luggage in our vehicle, but the valet basically refused. The concierge and valet started arguing in front of me and my guest. Also, for the amount we paid I could not believe that internet access was not included in our room.

I've stayed at several Marriots, this one was just like all of the others, which is good because I really like the chain. It had the best location for a day of shopping in the city. Just don't stay in a room next to the elevators, they do become nosiy. Oh yeah, the view from the 36th floor was breath taking even though your ears pop on the way up to it.

We were pleased with our experience at the downtown Chicago Marriott. Our room was quite small, but it was comfortable. The bed and bedding were fabulous. We ate at the weekend brunch and it was excellent. The location is of course wonderful. They said the renovation would be done but it wasn't but that was not a problem. We had two rooms and felt it was pricey for what we got but it is downtown Chicago. The $40 extra for an extra person in each room didn't seem necessary because of the price of the room and how many people travel alone?

This hotel was overpriced. The location is good, but it is an older hotel. It was not very family friendly. More for the business traveller or single person. The pool was gorgeous! Overall, our stay was OK....I just think we spent alot of money for nothing!!!

Both Firday and saturday night we had one heck of a time to get the waitress at the lounge to serve us. I don't really think it was their fault because one bar tender and two waitress don't cut in on busy Friday and Saturday evenings. I would suggest going to other close by bars or resturants if staying here.

In the great "bed race" Marriott acquired some of the worst beds in the industry. I am reconsidering my relationship with Marriott.

For the rate charged the rooms are dinky. The bathroom is one of the smallest I have encountered in its rate group. There is nothing exceptional about the service at the hotel. The best feature of the hotel is its location on Michigan Avenue.
