Quiet and away from the hustle of downtown hotels. Comfortable room and beds. Hallways and main areas of the Hotel are in need of updating. State of the art spa and great workout room. Overall positive stay.

The staff was incredible!! We were warmly greeted. The room exceeded our expectations. The property was absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. We are definitely going to return to Morgan Run!

One of the beds in our room was broken when we arrived. We tried to sleep on it, but were afraid that it would collapse during the night. After having maintenance come take a look in the middle of the night, we saw that the bed had no support - they just screwed legs into the box spring! The staff was put out to have to give us another room and was […] unwilling to offer anything more than an upgraded room in order to make up for our discomfort and inconvenience. My son and I were planning on staying at the Gaslamp Hostel. I rarely stay at Hotels any more since I've discovered the wonderful world of hostels, but I normally only stay at hostels when I'm traveling alone. My husband suggested Morgan Run Resort through Hotels.com. The 48 hour turn over price was the same price I would have paid at the hostel. I […] don't stay at hostels just for the economy though. I like interacting with people from different countries and the whole atmosphere at a hostel is more communal and less commercial. And some of the hostels I stay at are in gorgeous surroundings - Pigeon Point Lighthouse above Santa Cruz or Montara Lighthouse just above Half Moon Bay. My point is this.. I was able to stay at a clean, comfortable resort room for the same price as a hostel and the bonus for me ... the location was absolutely beautiful. It is close enough to Solano Beach where my son and i saw Beats Antique at the Belly -Up Club and the next day we took a lovely drive up to Escondido to see Queen Califia's Magical Circle - a mosaic sculpture garden built by the late Niki de Saint Phalle. Morgan Run's check out time of noon allowed us to leisurely prepare for the day. Oh and there's an espresso machine instead of a coffee maker... honestly I think I would have rather had the coffee. But it was fun to use. Most importantly Morgan Run accommodated us with a ground level room even though I didn't ask for one due to my son's disability. we brought our son who is nearly 2 and the pool was amazing, one of those walk in pools and a little play area like at the water parks. the breakfast was over priced for what it was and a little slow. the walls were thin or doors didnt seal well as it was a little noisy. you could hear the water pipes when anyone took a shower (my son would say Uh Oh). […] nice failities. we got a great deal. very quiet neighborhood, dont expect to get dinner late around there, its very wealthy and closes early... The lobby reception creates a luxury impression and that is where it stops. The gym and spa areas were updated and very good. The exterior of the residential buidlings could use a coat of paint. We booked two adjacent rooms and they got it wrong. Rather than say sorry, they said that 's all they have available. When we insisted they offered us an […] adjacent room with two beds - when we only need one bed. Overall - experience was average. I will search for other resorts next time before coming back here. Country atmosphere. Connected to a private club with a golf course and tennis courts, and adjoining cafe and more formal dinning . Off the highway a bit, but nice and quiet and room service a definite plus. L.A.

1st room smelled like mold & mildew, old fashion room heater was full of dust & lint,TV didn't work. Moved to another room which was in working order. Appeared to be better maintained probably due to being located on their golf course. Building was very old & not well maintained overall. For a resort everything closed down by 9pm. Accommodations were excellent, upgraded since the last time we were there. The only negative was a very bad breakfast in the dining room. A resort of that caliber should have a better chef.

An older facility tucked away in a valley with beautiful scenery. The grounds were very well maintained. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. The spa and fitness facility was superb. This place is perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. A great getaway at an excellent price!

Nice place, great service, all amenties are clean and functional. An older facility but well maintained with a well appointed gym and very nice golf course. Exceptional value, would definitely my first choice if I was in the area again.

Hotel had a $15 per night charge for an resort fee. Did not play golf ( which looked good) nor did I use the pool or the tennis courts. I did work out which was better than average.

Hotel has a country club atmosphere. It is a older property but nicely done and good up keep. The grounds are nice with palms, and flowers and it is on a golf course. The workout facility is great.

This golf course with a clubhouse should not be titled resort. Dont get me wrong the golf course is beautiful and even the drive up to registration is impressive but unfortunately thats where it ends..upon entering the musty lobby I was greeted by non smiling front desk staff who obviously had checked in hundreds of people but now dont really enjoy […] doing it anymore. This theme ran through the entire complex. I pointed out that an ice machine was leaking all over the floor to a member of housekeeping,after soaking my socks,the staff member looked bored when I pointed it out. it was still leaking when I checked out. The room was large and comfortable, but I think that it had been some time since a guest had stayed in there, as it was dusty with cobwebs on the ceiling fan pull switches. There were no towels either upon arrival. The air conditioning was antique and very loud and rattled..impossible to sleep with..the insulation was hanging out all around it and it was barely in the wall. The pay per view movies could never be accessed after several attempts by staff and the phone didnt work. The condition of the patios and balconies are just terrible..cracked plaster and cobwebs everywhere.This complex is 2 star at its best, but has the potential to be a three and a half star hotel with a more motivated staff. Morgan Run sits in the middle of one the most prestigous neighbourhoods in the USA.. its time to step up to your 5 star surroundings. Leer más

The location and available amenities were great. Nice pool, 27 holes of golf, tennis..... Chair in room was very noisy and wobbly. Room smelled clean, but patio wall had cigarette butt marks in the paint. No fridge in room. lotsof light and some noise spilled into room. Mattress was terrible. A hole in one side from overuse. Big rooms; high ceiling. Bed comfortable. We feeled like home every three nights we stayed there. Enough room in the bathroom, large counter. About 30 minutes from downtown San Diego, it was a little out of circuit for activities, but worth the deplacement for the comfort and fee ! Big pool and spa. I'd definitely get back there !

The staff here is wonderful and the rooms are good quality. The comforters and pillows were so comfortable. The food at the restaurant was delicious; even during the SD County blackout they managed to cook excellent salmon, risotto, and burgers. Would definitely consider coming here again.

I live in San Diego and never knew this place existed. I'm so glad I found it. We needed to get out of the heat for a couple days and this is a great place to do it. It's super close to Del Mar and the race track area. The hotel staff was super nice. We were there during the rolling black out and they pulled out the BBQ and made sure everyone had a […] flashlight and something to eat. The bed was super comfortable. Contrary to some of the reviews found hotel to be well maintained and rooms spacious. Good value. Very good restaurant, excellent pool and fitness complex plus nice tennis facility. Golf course very crowded, very flat and not memorable.More low key than Inn at RSF.

in del mar heights, big rooms on golf course so no standing naked by the window. best part is that the restaurant called Market is very close.

In the past, I stayed at Morgan Run many times, only when nothing else in the area was available. I was always disappointed. Sadly, the hotel is still as run down as ever. I was told they had just finished their partial remodel, and was hopeful that the improvements would be exciting, but I guess that was just the spa/pool area and the lobby. The hallways […] and rooms are very disappointing. My bathroom still had plaster on the tiles and floor, and had not been cleaned from the new tiles applied to the shower. Was the remodel just finished yesterday??? There is a maintenance area out in the open, just off of the restaurant, where guests can see piles of old furniture, wood, etc...Old smelly carpet in hallways, chipped paint on the walls. Does no one in management notice? If you're thinking about sleeping in, forget about it. Their maids start cleaning rooms around 7am and are laughing and talking loudly in the hallway with disregard for sleeping guests. One of my old grievences was that the televisions never worked right. Every 15 minutes, the picture would become fuzzy and inaudible for about 2 minutes. Well, the rooms have new televisions now, but the problem remains. Very frustrating-thank goodness it's not playoff season. I recommend that Morgan Run owners and managers spend a weekend in their own resort and take notes. Plus side: The food and service in the restaurant was much better than I remembered it being. Also, the pool area was nice. Sadly, that's not enough to keep me coming back. This time I vowed never to return. Leer más

Hotel and staff were wonderful!! We stayed an extra night and they honored an online fare without us having to re-book for that night. Room service for breakfast was pricey, and the food delivered was barely edible. Other than that, a super place to stay!

The atmosphere struck me as "semi-formal", meaning I felt a bit uneasy to wear my shorts, t-shirt and sandles around, and I worried about my children getting to loud both outside and inside the room. It was inconvenient not having a "free" breakfast available, although a pricy breakfast was available. All of the staff members were very nice and friendly […] and ready to attend to your needs. HOWEVER, the pool is designed with some very child friendly features and water spraying features. Even my 5 year old, who cannot swim yet, had a blast in the very large shallow area that progresses from a depth of about 6 inches to about 3 1/2 feet. My kids wanted to keep going to the pool each day. My overall impression is that this hotel is great for those that have large vacation budgets or are used to staying at "fancy" hotels. My husband and I found an internet special and were delighted with the friendly service & recently redecorated rooms. The outside and hallways of hotel looked a little "old school", but inside the room was beautiful with a very comfy pillow-top bed. We also enjoyed the bar & grill for dinner and were excited about the "Two for Tuesday" special at the […] spa---we both had the best massages ever! Definitely recommend it for a restful getaway! Housekeeping was great! Rooms were kept clean all five days we stayed there. TV reception was bad. Business computer was slower than watching grass grow, however, the night manager printed out my boarding passes through use of his computer. Old hotel but cant complain too much, after all, all we needed it was to sleep.

The room and the buildings is in much NEED of REHAB or RENOVATION! Every room sh/have either a microwave or mini refrig. However, we all did enjoy the pool, tennis, gym and access to the shower & steam area.
