The Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows

I was able to check-in early, location was amazing, view of the ocean was just what I needed. Would love to return soon.

Stayed at the Fairmont for a work trip. Arrived late and tired. Was given an ocean view room (even though that isn't what the reservation was for) and wonderful service. The room was spectacular and the whole stay was refreshing and wonderful. The Fritatta Verde on the breakfast menu in the restaurant downstairs is also a must have. Can't wait to […] go back. Nice quite location in Santa Monica yet still close to the action. Great service and the hotel and rooms are well maintained and clean. I have stayed at other hotels in Santa Monica however I will choose the Fairmont again.

Went over Christmas holiday to visit in-laws. We stayed in the Palisades suite with two kids. Hotel was conveniently located. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool was small but nice as was hot tub. Nice exercise room. Would stay again with family. Suite was ok but needed a remodel (old rug, chipped tub and sink, crayon markings on sofa cushion and […] residual Fruit loops from some previous guest). Linens, towels (and bed for that matter) could use an upgrade. . Only one restaurant...expensive. Leer más

Expensive but worth it! Why would you stay anywhere else?

Great place to stay - immaculate rooms, great service, great locations. Full gym is a nice plus when you're up too early to go for a run on the beach. Pricey but worth it.

I stay at your hotel while conducting business in Santa Monica. Love the location and they staff is very professional and friendly. You do not get this often these days. One comment....the ocean front room was very noisy due to the traffic below. Can you put earplugs in the rooms or have a wave recording so the traffic noise is muted? Thank you!

This was our second visit to this hotel. We were upgraded to a suite with an ocean view, so we were very happy with our room. The people are very friendly from the valet to check-in. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the location is great if you want to walk to the beach or head to a restaurant or shopping. Breakfast at the hotel […] was good as well. 1. charge too much for a very small room, and old equipments and towels 2. no staff trainning, poot room service, e.g, staff can open guest room in the early morning at 8:30am, although not hanging d&d tag, staff could reconginsed a newspaper bag was hanging on the door handle. 1 robe for 2 persons, and next day not provided; 1st day provided ice-cube, […] next day, NO!; 3. car pick up, trouble so much, wasting time, waiting for 7 minutes, and discovered that the car key dropped in a basket. 4. no coffee kettle, sometime guest would like to take a hot drink in the room, but always ask for room service, it's trouble Leer más

I've been staying at this property for the past 10 years. I guess I've out grown it because it doesn't seem to be half as nice as it used to be. The lobby is great. The service level is superb. And that's where it ends. The bungalows (where I stayed recently) are in serious need of updating -- the carpet looked worn and the furniture was a cheesy tropical […] style. Worst of all, there was actually black mold in my shower!! I believe some of the property might still be nice -- I've stayed in the tower rooms before and they are a more contemporary style -- but overall the hotel is SO not worth the price point. Excellent customer service, attentive and extremely polite staff; they remember your preferences. Location is a across from the beach but still a quiet oasis from the busy crossroads of Ocean Ave and Wilshire Blvd. Our suite was nice, quiet but old fashioned as that wing of the hotel was built in the 1890s...nice bathroom, comfy beds, just not huge […] and splashy in terms of space/light. Very comfortable and quiet--perfect for a family of three. Easy walk to Third Street Promenade and beach. Typical to LA, you are 'in' Santa Monica and if you want to get elsewhere you need to rent a car, take a tour or hire a taxi/driver; however, you CAN walk or bike along the beach and keep in mind that people in LA do not walk anywhere ever so even short distances are 'car trips'. If you are used to walking or travel in Europe, it is possible to walk. The weather is pleasant. Apparently the public transit is time consuming unless you take one of the metro lines that seem to be somewhat conveniently located through Hollywood, downtown and Pasadena. The concierge is excellent and full of helpful tips and if you're planning on walking anywhere, I'd ask him just to make sure you are in a safe neighbourhood. We had no trouble with anyone, anywhere in LA except for a few 'colourful' characters in Venice Beach which, apparently, is to be expected. Already planning our next trip back. Leer más

Fantastic location...I might stay here again and recommend it because it's walking distance to everything but I wouldn't stay based on the hotel itself. Booked for 3 people with a "room upgrade at check in". Ended up on the 2nd floor looking only at an overhang and a wall...no city or garden view as advertised. Only a single chair on the balcony...called […] the front desk to change rooms or perhaps 3 chairs but nothing available...even if I skipped a balcony altogether. While relaxing at the bar w friends realized I forgot to pack a toothbrush so I asked at the front desk but they suggested I call housekeeping. hmmm...maybe they were too busy to call for me?? No "hello", "welcome", etc from concierge or spa desk attendants as you walk in and out of the hotel, bar staff seemed distracted. Just not a friendly feeling overall (except for the valets...they were all personable, friendly and made good dinner and late night snack recommendations!). Leer más

I was disappointed in the quality of the pillows and bed linens for a hotel of this caliber. My daughter and I both had trouble sleeping because the pillows were too firm. The Hilton Doubletree Inn has better quality linens and pillows. I

A great location and very nice staff. Hotel is in need of some upgrading especially the rooms for the price. Very noisy and if you don''t liek dogs staying in your hotel, don't stay here.

Good stay at a good property. Excellent bedding, and our Ocean Towers deluxe balcony had an excellent view of the Santa Monica Pier and beach. The planned rebuild of the hotel is timely, as the Towers and Palliser Wing are 1959 and 1924 vintage, albeit with renovations in the past. Disliked the less-than-efficient check-in (Didn't bother to call us […] when room was ready and had to ask for ice four times or the shuttered bathroom doors are without enough privacy. This is a high end, luxurious hotel across the street from the Pacific Ocean. The rooms are a bit small, but the furnishings are very impressive. The restaurant has an outstanding menu (try the lemon ricotta pancakes at breakfast) and the staff were simultaneously efficient and personable. Fantastic 2nd stay in this Santa monica Hotel. With great views overlooking the ocean I am sure to return for trip 3 in the future. The hotel is very close to the areas shops and bars and just a short walk to the beach. DONT LEAVE ANYTHING OF VALUE IN YOUR CAR AT THIS PLACE. THEY WANT THROUGH MY PERSONAL THINGS LOOKING FOR WHO KNOWS WHAT. I absolutely loved the Fairmont Miramar Hotel. The staff is exceptional. They go out of their way to make your stay amazing. From the valet to the concierge to the restaurant wait staff, it was an unbelievable experience. We can't wait for our next trip to LA so we can stay there again. The hotel has ocean views and even though it's steps from the […] ocean, you feel secluded in it's gates. The bungalows and pool are complete with tons of greenery adding to the ambiance of the place. Our room had a great balcony overlooking the pool and nearby ocean. For the most part, we had a lovely stay at the Fairmont. My biggest gripes would be lack of space at the swimming pool and the fact that there are no coffee machines in the room and they charge $4.00 for a crummy cup of coffee in the lobby. You are better off to walk a couple of blocks for much better coffee at a local cafe.

The best location! We were so happy there, we would stay there again!!

Room was smaller, but very comfortable with nice ocean views and very clean. Service could not have been nicer- particularly the valets, front desk staff (John who accomodated an early check-in) and the gentleman in Risk Mgt. who is sending something I left behind in the room. Highly recommend!

We were supposed to only stay for 2 nights then go to Vegas, however we loved Santa Monica and the hotel that we extended or stay.

nice hotel and location if you want to be in Santa Monica.

There are some really nice hotels further down Ocean Ave., south of Pico (i.e., Loews, Shutters), but I really thought this hotel was much better located for walking to restaurants, the Promenade, etc. It may be up the bluff and across the street from the beach, but it's still close. Staying right on the beach in this area is overrated, anyway. The […] beach is so crowded in the daytime and not terribly safe at night. Fairmont is easier to get in and out. Leer más

Our room must have been cleaned 3 times a day! The service was amazing, the front desk booked us baseball tickets, rental car, anything we needed!!! Great location, next to beach, close walk to main Santa Monica strip. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel.

Great place! Enjoyed the location, stay, staff and food... Although there only one night everything was in place.. The room had a well-stocked bar, fresh fruit, and close to the famous Santa Monica Pier, beach & other amenities. A little on the high end a little but we deserve it...

We were basically on a one night stay in LA on the way back from Fiji to the east. This was a terrific choice for a multitude of reasons including but not limited to: location (on the beach, close to the 3rd St Promenade, etc.), quality, service, decor, character and overall friendliness of the staff. Kudos to whomever is the director of HR as this […] is the finest job of training folks to that small extra step to help their guest that I have ever seen outside of Disney. Well done one and all. I have stayed in 3 other Fairmont Group Hotels and been impressed, so my expectations were high, unfortunately the rooms and bar let this hotel down! The rooms have extremely small bathrooms even for European standard and mould growing around the bath; the decor & furniture is more fitting to an elderly relatives home than a modern hotel, and not very […] well sound insulated as we were disturbed by plumbing noises and other guests room service deliveries. The bar was souless basically an extension of the ground floor reception area, so not inviting to guests. The positive was great location, good gym, spa and ok pool area, although the sun-beds situated around the pool area were so close you couldn't get inbetween them, also children were allowed to dominate the pool and jacuzzi. The hotel is expensive, so if you are ok with a very standard room but good location stay here, if not there are plenty of other hotels close by. Leer más

The customer service here is 1st class! The location is great, a short walk to restaurants and great shopping. I was very fortunate to get a complimentary upgrade to a junior suite. The turn down service is one of the best ever. I'll definitely stay here again!
